  1. Very very few "hardcore" players were happy with what they saw on the PTS. For that matter, most of the people playing PTS and posting on forums about it are relatively hardcore. I think that many of the changes in 7.0 were aimed at "copying Wow" to catch and retain more new players. It's bizarre how few resources they put into making existing players happy. While that's true of most of their major updates, for 7.0, their "10 year celebration", it was especially true. They don't understand that happy current players are the best marketers, the best commercial, for a game like this.
  2. Makeb was arguably the biggest xpac we've gotten. Not that Makeb was large but 7.0 has a fraction of Makeb's content.

  4. In perfect RNG the chance of getting the same FP 4 out of 5 times is much less than 1%, assuming there are 7 flashpoints in the q and each one has an equal chance of popping. I ran 3 or 4 FPs yesterday on Empire characters (on two different accounts) and most if not all of them were BT - others in my groups complained, unprompted by me, of getting that FP too much already. Something's broken.
  5. To be fair I think they lost their development money post 5.0. Up to then we had one expac per year. After that everyone went into "finish Anthem fast" mode and I'm not sure they ever came back.
  6. Click on the Queue for PVP, there's a "Ranked" button just above the Queue for Ranked and that pulls up various stats including your valor.
  7. "Hard" means different things to different people. But getting through the knight class story definitely was a challenge at launch. There were many forum threads and youtube videos showing people having problems with several of the jedi knight bosses (Valis, Angral and the Emperor in particular). I often got requests from players for help vs specific class bosses. Class stories got easier over the years because we could overlevel them but they were generally at least noticeable fights until the KOTFE expansion introduced "bolster everywhere" in 2014. Bolster everwhere turned some bosses into one or two shot kills, particularly the ones that circle back to Korriban where Baras, for example, got turned into a level 10. All of the class story final fights should get a quality review pass but there's not enough manpower.
  8. Other than vague feelings, why do you think guardians had "too much defense" in 2013 (that's when they had enure, saber ward, reflect and focused defense)? Since then how many times has a non-D guardian been on the top of the ranked leaderboards? Maybe in season 2 or season 3 right before the nerf to focused defense, otherwise they have been pretty much the class for people that like the idea of playing a single saber fighter no matter the cost; they haven't remotely exceled at pvp or pve. The class has always had its haters, fighter types are literally/comically hated by certain sorts of players in every rpg; I don't get it but I could recite numerous stories - some have always called them overpowered no matter what evidence they are presented. But on the list of classes that needed a nerf they have been at the bottom for at least 95% of this game's history, at least from what I have seen.
  9. SWG and STO are the better space games. Very sad.
  10. Was it feedback or was it that they just hadn't finished? The current PTS has lots of little bugs and at least a few screens still tagged with WIP. It wasn't ready.
  11. From my perspective, Bioware has drawn a crude sketch on a wall of a road ahead. And now they're running full speed into that wall.
  12. You can do them in story mode (which is the default). Vet/Master mode chapters and the Eternal championship are a couple things that I think solo players would like to have the best gear to do; they can be as hard as most raids.
  13. For chapters - don't expect to be able to do those vet/master chapters as easily as you can @75 with 306 gear until you're @80 with 326+ (maybe 334) gear.
  14. Nobody takes more risks, dies more, gets publicly "shamed" more than PVP players. Our numbers show up at the end of matches; if my team lost and I took little damage and all of my numbers are low, it's clear that "it was me". None of our encounters are scripted and the skill requirement to do well involves beating actual people where many of them have played this game for literally thousands of hours. Why don't pvp'ers get the best gear rewards?
  15. Somebody's been saying that every other year for the last several. 2021 was supposed to be a big year for events and updates if you listened to certain devs a year ago. Believe it when you see it.
