  1. I agree. Toxic Ranked players will just stop taking pops to punish everyone else. This game is absolutely perfect outside of this one thing. Bioware needs to issue some kind of penalty making it cost 20 cartel coins to miss a pop. That will for sure get rid of all the toxic ranked players and finally turn this game into the flawless pvp experience Jackie and the other devs dreamed of.
  2. I don't even have to convince people to leave at this point, its like they want to kill their own game.
  3. Imagine telling people not to play with their friends in an mmo.
  4. Gotta love swtor's communication behind this. Not only did they tell no one about these changes, but they refuse to given any kind of solid explanation either. The only good thing to come out of this is now we know swtor never cared about pvp. There is absolutely 0 reason for pvpers to stay subbed anymore. They want to remove remaining signs of skill and achievement left. Its why they turned all the flags into decos. Its why ranked its being deleted. Its why the damage leaderboards will be gone. Any form of evidence that distinguishes you from other players will be removed. They want every player to be as moderately average as possible so no one's feelings get hurt.
  5. I don't see why people keep bring up this argument that ranked is super toxic. When I que solos, it's very rare that I see anyone getting flamed. I see way more toxicity on fleet chat and in general unranked warzones than in solo ranked. People only feel toxicity in ranked more because in 4v4's there's more pressure on the player to perform well. Its understandable to feel this way, but it stops being acceptable when people run to the forums claiming all ranked is toxic because of 1 bad experience. The vast majority of all ranked players are generally chill people.
  6. I won't pvp at all if this goes through. I'll be unsubbing and uninstalling. The rewards on the track have absolutely 0 significance. There is no skill required to get any of them. You could write a bot that would afk those matches, and eventually you would get all of the rewards. The fact that you can buy all of these rewards with credits is completely against the competitive spirit of pvp. Rewards are supposed to be earned with effort and skill, not given out after a billion credits. A billion credits is worthless now, its not even worth a single gold augment. All this will do is encourage credit sellers and discourage players from getting better. I prefer 4v4s, but if these changes go through I won't be playing at all. These changes spit in the face of the entire pvp community. These changes will kill the pvp scene if they go through. If you care at all about competitive swtor pvp, do not make these changes. This is the worst possible change you could make to pvp. Ranked is the only reason a good portion of pvpers even play this game. Even playing regs for alot of players was preparation for the ranked season. Removing ranked and the unique rewards associated with high level play will absolutely remove all incentives to play the game. Alot of pvpers don't care for the story or whatever new daily area gets implemented. There is nothing good about the pvp season system. All this will do is remove any incentive to pvp anymore. The rewards are pitifully bad. The armor sets look horrible, but I'm sure you guys already know that. Everything about this is horrible. If these changes go through you will have all of the ranked pvpers leaving the game. The only people left will be new players that que without gear and augments and objers that do nothing but cap a node and afk on their phones. You will alienate the entire skill-based pvp community this. The worst part is that you're removing flags which was the biggest reason why people even pvped to begin with. People worked for years to improve and struggle through solo and granked even after you guys made it even more difficult to earn ranks by increasing the win requirements. This is a massive middle finger to all the time and dedication we spent to get rankings. Bring back ranked pvp, and make it so you can choose to que in ranked 4v4s, unranked 4v4s, and unranked 8v8s. What's astounding is the fact that this change was even brought to the table. It really goes to show that you guys are completely out of touch with the ranked community. This is the most close-minded solution I've ever seen developers bring in a game. Who ever brought this forward actually needs to be fired.
  7. Everything about this post is perfect. Its so obvious that the game is in a downward spiral, but the devs don't care enough to stop it. Its almost as if they want to kill the game.
  8. Ya thats accurate. I unsubbed today cuz of this. A few of my friends predicted this months before it happened. They knew the devs didn't care about pvp once ability pruning started. I thought this was a hot take back then, but now its just facts.
  9. A bit of both. Off the top of my head I can think of several players caught on video either throwing, win trading, or hacking that were never banned despite reports being sent in. I can't name them because I believe it would be against the rules of conduct. But some of the are so notorious for win trading that you can google search them, and reports about their cheating will come up. I'm sure there's many more that I don't know about.
  10. Toxicity will exist in any game mode where stakes are involved. The higher the stakes, the more the toxicity. The logical approach to this is usually just to limit the toxicity and impose penalties on players for bad behavior. You are not supposed to kill the whole game mode just because a minority of the players are mean to each other. The problem with swtor isn't that the toxicity existed. The problem is that it wasn't punished at all. Most ranked players are not toxic, its just the ones that are don't get banned.
  11. Just because there are a few bad apples doesn't mean you chop down the whole tree though. Removing ranked just removed any reason for players to get better and work towards something of some value. The fact that this change was even considered proves bioware has completely stopped caring about pvp. I wouldn't be surprised if pvp is removed all together in 6 months to a year.
  12. I had this same talk with a friend just now. The fact that none of the rewards mean anything now is probably the worst part. Before even if you had a bronze flag it mean you were at least an average pvper in a dying game. In this next patch it'll be worth absolutely nothing. Its worth the same of respect as the manhunter title. Literally no one cares.
  13. Like 90% of the ranked players will leave, and the people that play only for pvp will unsub because you don't need a sub to pvp anymore.
  14. So far 7.1 has resulted in the lowest population of players since Swtor's release on Steam in July 2020. Without exception, every pvper I've personally talked to has said Swtor's pvp in 6.3 was better than it is now. I don't know how its possible, but somehow the release of this expansion actually caused an overall population drop off compared to how steady it was in 6.0. Most of the skilled players disappeared for other games after realizing the direction 7.0 went. I believe the reason this game is doing so poorly is the feedback system itself. Listening to every random person on the forums is destined to create a horrible game product. A good proportion of the players that post on the forums likely are only posting because they've had a bad unranked matchup against a class they didn't know how to beat. You're never going to get good solutions from players that don't know how to play the game. Its pretty clear that the dev team doesn't pvp either from all the changes that been be made in since 7.0 released. If the game continues in this direction, it will just keep losing more and more pvpers until it dies off completely. This is why I believe there should be class representatives. There are players with solo and group ranked experience that know the in's and out's of their class better than 99.99% of the population. These are the people the devs should be listening to when it comes to making changes that affect pvp. Listening to every joe shmo post onto the forums has got us to the point where we are now at the worst point pvp has likely ever been. If the devs took the advice of the players that actually know what they're talking about, there's a good chance that what makes the game better for those players will also make the game better for everyone else.
  15. I just finished reading the patch notes for tomorrow, and wow some of these changes look interesting. This might be a typo, but for the Sith marauder and sentinel you wrote, "Reducing the ability recharge time of Furious Power by 15 seconds." The cooldown on Furious Power is already 15 seconds. I do like the defel change for marauder. something like that could add limits to the stealth meta in solo ranked.
