  1. It seems to me that the developers have changed course in the past year, and I'm not talking about f2p. I have no inside information. I am no expert. I'm simply writing what appears to have happened from where I'm sitting. It seems like they game was originally going to be something like kotor 3 where you would play through several times, seeing several storylines. In fact, the playerbase was generally encouraged to roll alts (legacy institutionalizes this). It was that kind of game. The multiplayer aspect was secondary because it was designed as a single player game. Indeed, even now (my 5th character hit 49 and finished the class questline yesterday), 1-49 feels like a single player game with a chatbox. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I'm just saying. Then you hit 50 and all of a sudden it's an mmo. There is still solo content at 50, but it's the dailies. Frankly, dailies disgust me - how dare I be expected to do the same thing over and over every day like I work on an assembly line on a digital character that technically belongs to the company, not to me. Let me put it to you this way: I love cheesecake. Let's say I have a tiny sliver of cheesecake for every daily I do. So let's say that's about 5 slivers for Ilum, 5ish for Belsavis, and Black Hole, and Section X, and whatever wzs or fps or ops I do. This is one day. That's alot of cheesecake, and that's one toon. How long before a) I hate cheesecake, b) my abodmen explodes, and/or c) diabetes? I pay for this. That's not the worst part, though. Say you have four 50s. How many of those are actually going to be geared? Focus on one, and by the time that one's geared there's two more levels of gear more for the next alt. Furthermore, the gear you had previously ground to get is now not only obsolete, but unavailable (champion, battlemaster, e.g.). Tionese, columni, rakata, campaign, black hole, dread guard, hazmat, and what else? It makes my head spin it's so fast. The result is being permanently undergeared. Then we get hit with the space update that is gated beyond belief for a minigame. Really? Really?! My point is, we're getting mixed messages as to what we're supposed to do. Roll alts and be undergeared, don't roll alts and run out of content. Complete the storylines and have a sense of closure, then go into the 50 gear grind and have no closure ever by design. What is this game about, anyway?
  2. Slightly higher? So I can conlcude that the zergfest is intended? Therefore it would be reasonable to conclude that it is the intended direction of the game to have a substantially lower TTK than 1.1.5? Thanks, that's all I needed to know.
  3. This. I read the dev post concerning the warzone adjustments coming, and I think that those are definitely positive moves. What keeps me from resubbing is the TTK. I've read a good bit about how this has changed and the possible mechanics at work (expertise, classes being buffed/nerfed), but, frankly, I don't care. For whatever reason the TTK has changed, if the devs at least suggest that they might increase it by whatever method, I'll resub. Guys, give me something to go on - something to point to and say, "This will be addressed and I must be patient." As it stands now, it seems as if the lower TTK was a design decision and will not be changing. To be honest, the lower TTK kills the game for me. I am simply not fast enough to compete with all the kids with respect to motor time and response time. Before 1.2, I could compete because I had more time to process what was going on. Do I expect them to change their game to make it accessible on my account? Absolutely not. I wring my hands over it simply because I used to enjoy this game and would like to do so again.
  4. I think that these announcements herald some positive changes. However, these are baby steps in the right direction. The biggest issue, in my opinion, is the enormous increase in dps and decrease in time-to-kill. I loved the time I had to think about fights rather than simply smash buttons like a child. This is the first mmo (of many) in which I pvped because of that - and I pvped daily in swtor. Please consider addressing this issue as many others on these forums have suggested. I unsubbed on Saturday because of the changes. If and when these issues are ironed out, I will gladly resub.
  5. I was a sage healer in full champion gear (except one centurion implant, one battlemaster implant). I tried healing in the new patch. Well, that was pointless - people died too quickly for healing to matter much. Alright, I'll go full dps telekinetics to try to adapt. If dps is king, I won't fight the design issue and try to get used to it (ludicrous that I'd be paying for that attitude, I know). Things were alright for about ten matches... I actually got credits/comms for one of them (I can't believe I go from regularly getting around 7 medals per match and overnight I'm getting 2-3). Then I find myself in Novare Coast, the new map that I really do like. I was running toward the southern building and got half-way there when I see a marauder making a bee-line for me. Alright, I throw Weaken Mind on him right before he jumps to me. I start casting Turbulence (automatic crit with weaken mind on them) with an induction time of 1.8 seconds. I never finished casting it. I was dead before it finished. One marauder took me from 16k-ish health to nothing in less than two seconds. There was nothing I could do about it. Sure, instead of trying to dps him I could have stunned him... then four seconds later I'd be in the same situation as I was before the stun I unsubbed after that warzone. A free month is worthless if the pvp, the part of the game that I enjoy most, has become like that by design. And what kills me about this is the silence from the development team. These forums are on fire about pvp and not a word from the people who designed it. This reminds me of the NGE... fundamental change in experience handed down from on-high.
  6. I agree. With all of the warzone quitters there's less reason to even bother queueing. I have four characters over 50 valor, and the first warzone I ever quit was last night. 8 vs 2 for five minutes with not another soul coming to the team. I don't mind an earned loss if it's roughly equal numbers, but I'm not going to sit there and be farmed when I don't even have the slightest incentive to stay. I also want to see the minimum team size to avoid warzone shutdown re-implemented.
  7. A serious gamer wouldn't troll the forums because he would be playing the game (seriously). Less QQ more pew pew.
