  1. Yes I have every guide for every class is aimed towards end level end game, level 50+ rotations, max equipment. Maybe I read them wrong but not one said anything like "as a Jedi knight combat you get this at level 6 it is your main opener, as you level add this at 9 this at 12 this at 14 then rotate them with this and you are good to go for most PVE, here is your early stats to focus on and so on. You know simple basic rotations and knowledge to build the class knowledge instead of going straight to max level or 60+ here is prime DPS rotation with these amplifiers these implants this burst damage and so on.
  2. I have no interest in min/max, no interest in end game or max level content, no interest in being the best, I play for the stories, take my time and enjoy the journey, but what I can't seem to find is any guides or help for that journey. Every guide seems to be for later levels, for max equipment, for DPS/HEAL/TaNK. I know that early game I can get away with just mashing buttons but I kinda would like to get to know each class, primary stats, what low level equipment to go for, what rotation to use at level 10 for a Jedi sentinel for example not because I have to but I want to see the rhythm of the class as I play and slowly level it. Do we have anything like that anymore? Anything at all focused on the journey not the end goal.
  3. I have spent a little more time in game and while I am still on the fence as to if I can justify monthly subscription a thought came to me, if I subscribe for a second month I will have 2600 cartel points, how much would I need to make F2P on par (without stipend) with subscription. I would like to add this game is now much improved on what it once was.
  4. Once again thank you for all the information, I am happy to pay per month if I have something to do
  5. I will jump over to fleet and look that up thank you
  6. I will look into those it is a pity that we never got the promised character story line expansion.
  7. Left long before the 2.0 patch, returned today and subscribed, I mainly left due to hating the end game, I am one of those that loved the story line the single player missions, the companions and when I hit 50 all that was taken away from me and I was in return told to play generic repeatable raid/whatever to grind for equipment oh and btw you can't do this with your companions join up with some real people Not saying I hate groups or am anti-social I just loved SWTOR as a single player semi kotor III. Now I have renewed my subscription, ended up with 2100 cartel coins and access to the new planet and I know a new patch is incoming today. I still am looking for a single player experience with social tacked on, I believe SWTOR can be played like that what I need to know is what should I be doing and where to go, what story lines can I experience. Should I still be able to solo happily with my sith sorcerer and companion? **note my equipment isn't very good as I avoid the end game grind for items so keep that in mind please. What have I missed? What is good on the cartel market to buy and what to avoid ? Thank you for reading and any offers of help.
  8. Dailies are not real content they are tricks and fakery to make you think you still have something to do at 50, all the commendation grind etc is for what ? a few extra stats and bragging rights ? Repeatable content even with shiny is still repeatable content, something a lot of us have done at work and do not really play games to erm repeat. This will be my last week, going to explore GW2 and TSW, I also pre ordered torchlight 2 those three.
  9. I now have three chars to level 50, no complaints on the 1-49 content, as I stated in my original post I do not mind grouping. The end game content has burnt me out of my love for this game. From 1-49 solo and casual playstyles are supported, no repeated quests and a great storyline, lots of optional content for bigger groups, when you hit 50 though it is like hitting a wall of the most banal and dreary repeatable content. I upgraded all my companions equipment at 50, got myself extra speeders and did daily missions till there was no wonder left in swtor. I do not like being on a treadmill or hamster wheel, each patch seems to cater more and more to the grind crowd and the big guilds. I am staying one more week to help my wife finish off her storyline quest then I will unsubscribe, probably come back in 6 months time to see if we finally got any more storyline content. There was a game called anarchy online, it had a wonderful innovation called the mission terminal, any time day or night you could log on, choose a difficulty/type/solo/team and within 5 mins be on your way to an instanced mission, even using that as a bases for randomly generated content would have been better, hell even city of heros with the random newspaper missions etc. I was just expecting a little more from a game that suposedly prided itself as being RPG and solo friendly.
  10. Talos was never in recruit gear he was in the level 40 pvp set I go for him (combat medic or something like that), after that they doubled the comendation cost of all pvp gear at that time so decided not to upgrade him further, he was working fine with me till 1.2 came out.
  11. Just because I made a simple mistake which I explained, I used talos (healer) from 31 - 50 and yes I knew his abilities pretty well, when 1.2 hit, he just did not seem to be able to keep me alive to put it simply I was pure lightning, 1.2 lowered the overall dps of lightning which means kills were taking longer, my healer pet was not keeping up as I was drawing a lot of agro. So I switched at 50 to Xalek after 1.2 and switched myself to a hybrid model figuring while xalek a ranged dps/tank with taunt ability could be primary focus while I spread afflictions and other nice dots around like they were going out of business. (does that sound like a noob thinking or lucky to get to 50 ?) I made a simple mistake of not recognising the name of his shield ability at the same time I was reading companion forums telling me he was bugged and kinda squishy, I assumed that was why he was dying so fast. I then looked up some armor types and on the class forum was advised to put him in the recruit armor, yes a full set cost a lot and I needed to re-do my mods this came in total to about 1.2m, I rushed simply because I wanted to get out there and test him. I always have the extended bar open but being use to Talos I made a simple mistake and by this time I was so bloody fed up with the game (increasing prices, rakgoul plague being used as a griefing tool, screwing up my lightning spec, sorry but if I put 31 points into a single tree I should rock shock and damn well drop enemies) That it all just came to a head.
  12. I just tested xalek out, yes his shield was not on, when someone said tank mode, I was actually looking for "tank mode", seems when 1.2 hit, his shield turned off and I never turned it back on, user error. I just did a daily belsavis and he is tanking okay but I still died once (hey that is an improvement) Yes I shield barrier him. Any suggestions I am willing to try. Just tired of dying and going off seemingly bad information
  13. I am not lazy, I do not mind working for a result, let me explain what I have tried before I sort of said blahh and my interest in the game started to die. A)Tried the daily missions but after 1.2 my talos (pre 1.2 combat medic equipment from pvp vendor) did not cut it, tried an entire planet of daily missions and came out with less money than I went in. Respeced from pure lightning due to changes to a madness, lightning hybrid which is suposed to be good for pvp/pve, died less but was still dying. Decided to look at it another way, equip a range tank/dps xalek in recruit gear this used up the last of my money. He was so damn squishy Spent nearly a week doing that Then I was informed that Xalex was bugged. And suggestions of farming came in. I did not just try and give up. currently I have for the last 3 days sat clost to the market a friend gave me 40k (I was down to 3800 after my last repair bill) told me to raise up slicing and sell the materials so I have and damn once again I must be doing something wrong because 3 days and I am only up to 52708. LOL. Please note though if "learn 2 play" means "screw people out of as much as possible" I will fail because I do not like to overcharge people even in a game.
  14. Maybe I am stupid but I just logged on and I do not see a "tank mode" for Xalek? seriousely if that is what I am doing wrong let me know He has 12890 health, 2119 armor rating, 16.40% damage reduction, defence chance 15.34%
  15. Yes "work" sorry but I must be mad to actually want to have fun in a game. I did my grinding in muds and even there grind was more inventive than this, I played meridian 59, EQ, AO and every mmo to come out (none f2p) I realised a while ago that even though I loved the genre I was tired of the boring grind. It is not even hard work, I have done hard work and am now retired, it is mind numbing drudgery. It is not SWTOR lore, it is not adventure and exploration, it is nothing to do with jedi and sith with the ultimate battle of dark vs light.. It most definetly is not bioware. Before 1.2 I was doing enough dps as pure lightning sith for Talos to keep me healed and me to nuke, it worked well, with the rebalance my dps was down (I had reasonable equip but nothing special) it was enough. I needed a companion that could draw agro so that I could get those few extra rotations off and finish the job, Xalex seemed the obvious choice, I kitted him out in recruit armor (best I could afford) and spent days trying to survive solo daily missions, all it would take was extra hard enemies or a respawn and I came out of the daily needing about 6-8k repairs. average of 1-3 deaths per daily. Now I realise khem would be perfect but I last used him at level 30 and have 80k to my name. SWTOR to me is nolonger lore friendly or casual play friendly and most definetly not solo friendly. Have fun on the hamster wheel guys.
