  1. A bit off the "rails" but you can find waves of enemies piling onto you in the single player ship mode. Sure it sucks.....but hey, if that is what floats some folks boat's.
  2. Going to give some basic but valuable advice here. Find a couple players that are a better than the norm and ask to group up with them when you que. Not only will you do better in warzones W/L wise but you will also learn some tricks of the trade from these players and increase your own effectiveness. And hey, maybe make a friend or two in the process, not a bad deal I'd say.
  3. Yeah, the votekick is more or less useless.
  4. Sounds like fun. Will be levelling an alt but will definatley bring pilots for both sides in case it get unbalanced (*When* it gets unbalanced).
  5. If those are the pub pvp guilds on bastion then that entire faction is in trouble because I see those groups get stomped more often than not...in regs
  6. The best aces are the ones that tout their superior skill against all those overpowered 2-ship rookie squads and bring mastered boats to make sure that those green pilots don't invade and take over all of our native servers. Thankfully we have these players to keep us all safe!
  7. I don't find the player map knowledge to be that bad when I do my obligatory Imp vs Imp matches on Bastion...that being said I've also had the odd Republic vs Republic of the new queshball and it honestly needs the carnival music in the background when this happens. There are about 2 players trying to do the objectives the rest just kind of flail about and hopefully kill something around the middle area. Amusing, but hardly satisfying. Imperial matches are definitely more...organized.
  8. If I have reason to believe that I'm going to be chain-queing at the same time as a whole bunch of hopeless pilots I will usually play a match or two and then take a break or head to do some ground pvp. This often leads to greener pastures in reasonable amount of time.
  9. Seen it before, pretty annoying..especially if the que's are being slow and you know that player will be in the next match as well. Having some sort of vote to kick option that actually worked would probably be the simplest solution. Let the GSF community sort out it's griefers if the computer can't.
  10. Eh, que times seen fine on Bastion. Can pretty much get a que within 10-15 minutes even at weird times of day.
  11. Good post. Not big on speeders or shells but I would love to be able to trade comms for more than just the outdated stuff at the item vendor. The money thing hits home pretty hard too...my pve friends have oodles of credits while I work my minions like santa's elves crafting their digital hands off to make bank.
  12. Won 50 to nothing yesterday so you are a step ahead of that group at least. Also been on a match where my team lost 50-1 so some of us do feel your pain. The most important thing though is that you don't throw your hands up and quit just because you've had a bad loss or strung some crap matches together. Happens to pretty much every pilot and sometimes the best thing is just to take a break and see what the next day's que's have to offer. Keep at it, even though there is some game issue's it is no worse than what ground pvp considers "balanced"....no MMO PVP will be completely fair, that is just the nature of the beast.
  13. I find that ground pvp has much, much higher levels of angst and QQ amongst the player base. In my experience GSF is like a breath of fresh air when it comes to broadcast pvp. It happens...but at a much reduced rate.
  14. When a few people still played City of Heroes back in the day, there was no dev organized player vs player and the community started a pvp ladder on the test server. It thrived for awhile with multiple "ranked" groups vying every sunday but eventually the devs introduced movement suppression and things went south. Anyway, the point I was making while I reminisced a little was that the Test thing worked fine and it allowed all the multi-server goodness that some guilds love. I'd definitely copy a pilot or two over if Test became the GSF Hub for this game.
  15. Usually what I do is tab around and look to see who the closest gunship(s) is targeting. If it is me (or a teammate in my immediate vicinity) I take a run at them ...or if I don't have the engine power I try to find some cover.
