  1. Thanks for the replies. I'm looking through the sites and exploring the options now to see who might be the best fit before I apply.
  2. I think that people should feel a bit obligated to do a basic read-up on the mechanics of each fight. On the other hand, there are a lot of people in pugs who are incredibly rude and hostile, overreacting to any request for additional info.
  3. American living in far eastern Europe. Can't transfer to the EU servers...because reasons or something. Anyone aware of any guilds that raid late night EST? I can wake up a little early to do an op, but the pickings are pretty slim during my prime time.
  4. DPS with twitchy fingers and ADHD- It's the tanks job to get aggro and hold it, but it's also your job to not pound elite and champion mobs with your hardest opener when there are standard and weak mobs that need to be killed. DPS with death wishes- you have aggro reducing abilities, try using them. DPS who don't know optimal rotations- The longer the bosses and trash packs live, the better chance the group has of dying. Healers heal, tanks tank, and you're supposed to kill everything quickly.
  5. I'm also in the market for a guild. I've been on break since about two weeks after the Revan expansion came out. My main interests are groups and ops. I'm not very hardcore, and I tend to operate on Euro times.
  6. Well, I don't yell at them for not space-barring through the cut scenes, which is what a lot of people complain about, right?
  7. Usually I'm a tank or heals in a fp. If someone doesn't want to spacebar through the cut scenes, I don't have a real problem with it. I just wait till right before the final boss, after the cut scenes, and say "AFK a min or two, need to put in laundry, grab a beer, etc., brb."
  8. The easiest way to complete these quests is to simply never do them in the first place. Complete waste of time unless you're a completionist.
  9. They're definitely easier with a dps spec and gear. At 60 you'll resist or take less damage from many of the normal and special attacks, so being able "tank" damage isn't so important.
  10. Your tank comp should be geared to solo these, btw. Average terribad dps with comps in crap gear will probably struggle or fail at soloing these flashpoints for the weekly.
  11. Sure, because 3 challenging fights out of 12 makes it oh so epic, and all for garbage rewards. The 60 HM fps are not hard, they simply have three bosses that are overtuned. If they were actually hard, then every single boss would be as hard the three that everyone has a problem with.
  12. I run all basic comms tank gear on my juggernaut. Know why? Because even though I have the money to buy more optimized equipment, it doesn't seem like very good game design that 1000 comms worth of gear is considered worthless. I'm not going to be on a progression team, and honestly I can't figure out what the point of doing any of the level 60 content more than once in story mode really is. SWTOR feels very small at 60.
  13. I like your style. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.
  14. 1- You talk about the OP needing a good group, and then describe how you had a terrible group. 16 tries is not even remotely reasonable to expect from random people in the GF. I've done these flashpoints with good groups, and they're not hard, except for a couple of pain bosses. Either all of the bosses need to be this challenging, or none of them do, because the rewards currently aren't worth the effort.
  15. For me, it's just kind of boring. I'm a good tank, and a fairly decent healer, and I hate the 60 HM fps. Not because they're challenging, which they're not, but because each of them except Rakata has some roadblock boss that is way overtuned. And the bosses drop basic comms. *I wish I had three hands so I could triple facepalm that decision* Rakata= 16 free elite comms, plus however many you get from the last boss. First two bosses in Manaan are easy, first and last boss of Korriban are easy, 2nd and 3rd boss of Tython are easy. If you guys are really relishing the challenge of content that is quite easy except for three specific bosses...then I'm not sure that you know what a challenge really is. Additionally, 192 gear from comms, with no set bonuses, are not end-game gear, and thus shouldn't require extreme perseverance to obtain. Either make the entirety of the 4 level 60 HM fps as difficult as the three problem bosses, or tone down those three problem bosses. I'm only about 99% sure they're going to take the latter option, because even the elites would stop doing 60 HM fp if they couldn't bulldoze through them.
