  1. You mean like Valkorion? After all, as Koth says "he was always good to Zakuul". Right, and it was fault of their political systems. In democratic Republic there are no exiles, slaves or slums. I admit though that currently it seems to be a choice between stupid and evil. You can refuse to take the throne, but it's stupid to assume it won't create power void someone will try to fill in near future, like Saresh did with Alliance. And it won't be a benevolent character grasping for power for greater good. On the other hand your Emperor speech sounds like a declaration of ruthless dictatorship. Why not give us the usual "Oppressive speech / Inspirational speech" choice there, or at least make the speech affected by a character's force balance. My main char is Light IV and she's threatening the whole galaxy during coronation? Yeah, that's probably what King Arthur did as well: "England! I'm your king now! Bow down before me or be crushed!".
  2. After what happened with crystal vendors I thought they already did
  3. It definitely has an impact, but it doesn't delete or reset them. It just scrambles them somehow, but they're still there - otherwise I wouldn't be able to rekindle romance just by replaying Chapter VIII alone. There is still hope for future fix if developers were willing to. That's a sound advice, but only works for new characters. If someone has an old character that was affected by this bug, but did not advance beyond Chapter IX, perhaps - just perhaps - my advice will help them. Good luck!
  4. That actually doesn't seem to be true. I had this bug on several characters, but let's focus on three different cases: 1, My main char, Agent. Flirted with Lana every chance I've got since SoR. Never flirted Theron. In cantina conversation I had no [Flirt] option and I wasn't aware I missed something. Character progressed with the story and seems to be a lost cause for now 2. Sith Inquisitor. Started flirting Lana in KotFE. Everything went fine until Chapter 9, where no [Flirt] option was available as well. I reset chapter and flirted Theron on the landing pad. That was the only time I flirted him, but it seemed to bootkick the flags somehow, as both Lana and Theron became available for flirt in Cantina, which allowed to lock on Lana romance. This worked for some other characters as well. 3. Jedi Knight, Romanced Lana since SoR, got stuck on Chapter 9 and the method above didn't work. I didn't progress that character, hoping for a fix. I tried every now and then for a last year or so, without success. I thought it's a lost cause, but just recently I've tried to replay Chapter 8 from new selection menu. I got a kiss on ship ("Insufferable"), got rescue kiss after fight with Arcann (didn't used Valkorion power*) and then - boom - [Flirt] became available in Chapter 9 and Lana romance locked! I'm now in Chapter 10 and I have romance notice in Lana description, so I hope it worked for good. Last case seems to confirm romance flags are still there despite many patches in between, but messed up somehow. That method didn't work for my Agent, though. It seems however, there's hope if your character is still stuck in Chapter 9. * I have no idea if using Valkorion power in fight with Arcann has any impact on who will come to rescue: Koth or Lana. I mention that just in case it has any influence on outcome.
  5. Damn, I really hope it wasn't the "now or never" kind of choice - people say there was a warning to confirm start of the romance with Lana, but I can assure you there was no warning of any kind to confirm the end of the romance with Lana :/ On top of that now the dialogue seems to be bugged and I have no [Flirt] choice at all during cantina dialogue on different character - it skips straight to regular "I want to talk" without even showing choice window.
  6. As we all know, game mechanics has its limitations and the universe logic needs to be bent a little here and there. For most times we understand that, for example, it's next to impossible to make separate dialogues for each class / class variant / character development and you just need to forgive NPC's not addressing you as (s)he should. But what if it's actually not the case? What if it's supposed to be exactly like this due to some Star Wars universe secrets we are not aware of? For starters, HIPS Theory (Hidden Incredibly Powerful Sith): Remember so-called "Assistant Overseer" Loun on Korriban? She caught my eye as an acolyte, but I was too low ranking to woe her, so she remained my aspired lover. I returned to her when I became a Sith Lord, but she wasn't a bit impressed. I returned as Emperor's Wrath, but she still insisted that she will not give her charms to someone below her rank. WHO IS SHE?
  7. I didn't mean Vizla - after all she's a heroic NPC, with her own important part in the lore (just as Jango) - in my book that makes her qualified to be a boss fight. I meant the middle-aged Mandalorian "arena champions" couple. Except for the Force
  8. I understand game mechanics needs - that's why I'm saying developers overdid the epicness (is that even a word?) of force-users storylines. Jedi Master / Sith Lord would do just fine, but council members are supposed to be more... well, just more. Take the fight with Mandalorian champions in SoR and compare it to a meeting of Jango Fett with a Jedi council member. Even if Blood Hunt wasn't a flashpoint (and upgrading several of SoR story encounters to a flashpoint mechanic makes things worse) it would be a disappointing performance for either council member. Once again: I'm not saying that the PC should be more powerful - all I'm saying is that the storyline elevated him/her too far up the power ladder and the added content is not keeping up to this level. It's visible not only in game mechanics but also in the story part of the game. You have no influence at all on council decisions (you're not even invited to the meetings). You have no access to your resources. Your spy network doesn't feed you any information. Most NPC's don't recognize your status (Darok even uses "I have no time for you, I must explain this to Jedi Council" excuse right in the face of Jedi Council member). And so on... It's sloppy. It wouldn't be very hard to make it less obvious. Adding force persuasion option in Consular dialogue with Darok/Arkous was a nice touch - it doesn't work so it changes nothing, but at least you have an option to try and it is kind of explained why it didn't work. Inquisitor's class side story on Rishi was also cool - it has no effect on the main story but you at least feel like you're making some big decisions. Few additional lines in Rishi dialogue could decide if your fleet will join the allied forces on Yavin 4 (as a background) or remain engaged elsewhere. You could get input from your spy network as a mailbox messages (so you don't learn about Emperor's fate when it's on the news). You could be called to a holo-meeting with Council in the middle of quest to debate an important decision (or a boring administrative one, so you can actually hang up on them). You could do many things, if developers would remember who did they make you.
  9. Nah, on Corellia you fight numerous sith lords and jedi masters, but neither Council members. I understand game mechanic needs, but it still seems they just overdid Force users story. As a trooper you are commander of one of numerous Republic elite special forces units, as smuggler you become... a more successful smuggler, as a bounty hunter you're Mandalore favorite champion but still one of the many hunters with access to Black List, as agent you're interstellar Bourne but still just a man. For this characters further story doesn't hurt as much. It would be OK if force-users story led to a moment where you're granted a title of jedi Master, sith Lord (or even Darth) - you would be powerful and recognized but still one amongst many, just like force-blind characters are. But their story goes further, giving more epic stuff of the legends... and that's why I think they overdid it. It was great when I was playing the story (and I'm glad I did) but it's way harder to swiftly follow into MMO-mode.
  10. I know but still that's the problem: it's like yoga pants - even if it will fit everyone, not everyone will look good in it
  11. Why I say that? Just a few examples from SoR prelude / expansion: - (s)he seemingly isn't capable to force choke enemy through a glass, - (s)he isn't capable to sink a small two-people submersible, - (s)he isn't even capable to move a mine another direction, - fishy force-sensitive security chief of some underwater laboratory is a demanding rival, - middle-aged Mandalorian couple is more than an equal opponent, etc. etc. Player character after storyline should be one of the most powerful individuals in the Galaxy, a boss-class opponent. Try to fight Darth Soverus solo, without a droid help - and he is one of Dark Council members, supposedly your Sith Inquisitor equal. Your Jedi Knight just faced and defeated the Emperor himself, you shouldn't even break a sweat with a regular Dark Council member. I have a feeling that developers did make a main storyline (especially for Force users) a bit too epic for they own good and now they have to sacrifice universe logic to make expansions playable and leveled. Still, come on... perhaps consider different angle instead of usual MMO "single epic boss fight"? I mean, what single opponent should really, lore-wise, pose a challenge for a Dark Lord? Instead of Valk and Jos you should fight the whole bloody Mandalorian clan, wave after wave of gold enemies - none of them would be nearly your equal (as it should be) but they would steadily wear you out and it still could be a demanding fight. Much more lore-logical. Don't even make me start with a flashpoint / operation group of such powerful individuals... We have a few Dark Council members, Emperor's Wrath, some chosen Mandalore champions and couple of interstellar Bonds - what world boss shall we face, Galactus? Nah, a walker droid. Damn. When you try to reconcile implications of the storyline with later quests it just doesn't add up. Unless of course developers deliberately imply that your character is a sham - all talk, an incredible series of lucky events and an overblown reputation (and possibly ego). P.S. Ah, and of course an annoying: "Your abilities are insignificant next to the power of the Boss". You learned how to knock back, disrupt and stun opponents and how to resist similar effects for the short time, but of course any real boss is too good for that - he is immune to your puny efforts but in reverse more than able to push you around like a puppy. I understand game logic in that, it's just "lore logic" that suffers. Some bosses are OK to have that sort of immunities due to their size or power, but others seem to be just too arbitrary. For example what makes Lt. Kreshin and her(?) droids so special, some kind of non-slippery shoes? Lady, I have 20kk credits, point me to your shoemaker! Here, I have a next world-boss idea for you: a Jawa wrestler on a narrow bridge. He is immune to knock-back and control effects, has enough health to survive a 16-person simultaneous Shadow Strike and knows one good move: knock-back attack that cannot be disrupted and activates every 3 s. He's a local champion on some Tatooine backwater bar - seemingly a worthy opponent for a bunch of Jedi Masters, according to latest trends.
  12. That solution worked for me, with some minor complication. 1. I stepped out and into the instance until the "not allowed" warning didn't appear. Then I walked in and Monolith spawned. As soon as I walked deeper into the room it despawned, though :/ 2. I reentered the same way as in step 1 (few out - in steps until no warning is shown). This time I just killed it from the distance, not entering deeper into the room. Quest objective changes. As soon as I walk deeper, I get "not allowed" warning again - but now I have new objective. 3. Reenter as before and finished the next objective.
  13. 100% true to that! It seems especially ridiculous before some combats, when your character yells commands like: "Havoc squad, battle formation!" instead of addressing his single buddy. Unfortunately there's no Havoc Squad in trooper story. There could be for example some kind of briefing before action, where you choose your companion and send others to achieve other objectives off-screen ("You two: clear perimeter and keep an eye for enemy reinforcements; you two: disable their communications; me and X are going in"). There also should be mostly squad-wide dialogues (instead of usual single-companion dialogues) with all your companions involved, so you can actually see they're a team. not bunch of individuals standing in various places around your ship. Sometimes they could band up together so you meet them working out, playing darts or something, instead in their regular spots. It didn't bother me completely in in another stories (honestly, I didn't even notice that before playing trooper), where your character is more or less a centerpiece holding together a bunch of individuals. However, it was very disappointed to have the same feeling in trooper story.
