  1. I feel that Swtor is a great game but it's downfall has more to do with WoW players would rather play WoW. Every MMO released post WoW there has been an influx of players followed by a huge decline. They can't all be bad, I mean swtor isn't a bad game. F2P or B2P is the future of how all mmos will be released. What's next for swtor? I hope after f2p there is a xpac released for 9-19$ with the following content, -Level cap raised -New skills and talents -3v3 Arenas with xserver q's -A place near the fleet that is only accessible to xpac players that allows dueling. -FFA World PvP area similar to AoC What do you want in swtor's xpac?
  2. F2P is a GREAT thing and should have been there with launch. All new mmos will be f2p in the future releases. What needs to happen is f2p first followed by a mini xpac that adds -Arenas -Level Cap raised -World PvP hotspots. - Fleet 2.0 An area on the fleet that allows dueling and is only accessible to xpac players. This game is great and I love that BW listens to the community. Amazing gameplay and PvP, but most people just don't want to pay for two subs. I truly believe that bw did a great job making this game and the drop off in sub numbers has everything to do with WoW players would rather play WoW.
  3. When can we expect more incentives for world PvP?
  4. I'm not quitting but GW2 has great features like 1v1 arenas, world pvp, tournament arenas. But the combat is completely awful and really kills the game. Most of what you see now is hype and I fully expect 30-40% of the initial player base to quit within the first month. Not that it matters since it's b2p..
  5. I play both casually. WoW has content which I like it has arenas + dueling which is fun, but the community is awful. Every other word is f** and people are very rude. I mean every PvPer I know is either a psychopath or just a huge jerk. Wish they took BW's stance on zero tolerance.
  6. 1v1 through 5v5 would be sick. They have that feature in gw2 but I prefer swtor's combat + sci fi. I'm already bored due to lack of arenas. But players like the one who posted below you oppose them even if they don't need to participate and can choose ranked warzones instead. Sure balance is a problem, but it's always a problem. Maybe make it so 1% of top players per class get this cool new vanity item for playing in arenas. Also swtor PvP is missing things that are needed for a thriving community like a place near the fleet that allows dueling. You would go there to socialise, make friends, enemies, gain experience etc.
  7. This. I don't even do class quests and therefore have no legacy. I want to reach end game content in a reasonable amount of time, that's all I'm asking for.
  8. Haha thanks for the laugh. Gear disparities have a difference in damage, healing, hitpoints, armor, stats such as cunning, accuracy, haste etc etc. I'm not even level 50 so I this thread doesn't apply to me yet. Just wanted to say that was a really misinformed post. EDIT: In swtor little numbers make a big difference.
  9. The best advice is to just hang in there and tough it out for a week or two until you have full purple gear and can compete. You're probably not doing anything wrong just that this is the way this genre of games work.
  10. -An instanced area next to the fleet that allows dueling. This will be the true social point of swtor where you go to make friends, enemies, along with gain experience. Other than that everything that was promised in the Q&A blog. Such as more incentives for world PvP and solo ranked. I'm pretty satisfied with swtor as is and where it's headed.
  11. Solo q's should be in the same patch with in game voice chat.
  12. Sorry for the nub question but how do I buy perks? My character is ls only 27 and I level via PvP, only doing the occasional space mission. Would -I- be able to buy the warzone xp perk even though I don't do class quests after I get my spaceship? Also good to hear that we can change specs from anywhere.
  13. SWTOR PvP does take skill, it's just that there's no way to measure skill at the moment. Same with WoW until arenas were introduced I could do 1v3 1v5's on my rogue against equally geared and level capped players all the time. I kid you not. Then arenas were introduced and we saw that it didn't matter because those players were in the 1200's. EDIT: also things that you have nowadays like vanish -> sap or w/e that skill is called that puts you into stealth for a few seconds blind ->sap etc etc. I remember seeing someone get flamed by tons of forumgoers for even saying that vanish -> sapping was a good thing to do even when sap lasted a full 30 seconds in PvP.
  14. Sage is the best for ranked wz's but you'll probably end up having to heal even if you don't want to. I thought snipers were mobile, at least engineering. Have I been playing wrong this whole time? Don't get me wrong if I'm not focused I will sit in cover until my butt hurts, but when a melee gets on me for example I will use slowing probe followed by going into cover and planting a cluster nade (forgot name), then I will use my instant attacks while kiting. Honest question...
  15. I made a post about this in general. A place to duel next to the fleet is the bread and butter of a server community. It's where you go to socialize, make friends, enemies, gain experience etc. Its where you go to show off your cool vanity items that you achieve via ranked wz's and raids. YES!
