    PvE GSF

This may have been suggested before (actually I asked this before 🤦‍♂️) but, it would be nice to have more options for space. I could see PvE missions where you take on a capital ship. But an even better experience would be 'open world' style space like we had in SWG:JTL. You could mine for resources, explore POIs, maybe even leave the cockpit and walk around your MP ship. Those were all great features that I really miss from SWG.
  2. When I try to log in today I am getting 'login server not available' 50% of the time and an empty server list the other 50% of the login attempts. Anyone experiencing this?
  3. I know everyone gets tired of hearing about SWG:JTL but I would love to see two types of PvE space. 1. Raid like instances with PvE objectives running on the current PvP engine. 2. Exploratory zones, not instances, where players could mine, explore, etc. Have either of these ever been considered?
  4. https://www.mmorpg.com/news/ubisoft-and-lucasfilm-announce-a-new-story-driven-open-world-star-wars-game-2000120640 I wish it was SWG2 as well. It probably will not even be an MMO.
  5. They are kind of pointless if they are not vendors. We have an NPC limit as it is. If you have a few toons their companions will fill those slots. I'd rather have a companion displayed than a generic NPC called bartender that doesn't tend bars.
  6. What is the point of purchasing Jawa traders, bartenders, medical droids, etc. if they are not vendors? I'm guess this is just a bug?
  7. I posted this in another 'NPC limit' thread, but it probably belongs here. The only thing I can think of that would cause the need for network traffic or DB hits (after the initial load) would be their ability to respond to quests. That could be a push event from the server and could be limited to one active at a time. All of the animations and phrases could be client side. So, if you think about a mount or companion in game. There are all of these attributes associated with them. Their artificial intelligence, their pathing, their phrases, combat stat calculations, affection.. etc. I bet they didn't code them any differently for strongholds. They just let you 'call them'. So SWToR see's you having 20 active companions and has to use the RAM and CPU to deal with all of that. The solution is to make 'dummy' versions of mounts and NPCs. Edit: If it's really because of having a finite number of instances per stronghold type, that's bad design. Read about Amazon's auto scaling. You should be able to detect load and bring up new instances to accommodate the need. Scale up and scale down when not needed. That's the way the computing world is going. I would think MMO games would take sharding to the next level with this concept. And I do write software for a living. Admitedly I know nothing of gaming developemnt though... https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewlclement
  8. Maybe make it an option? I like both real and holo NPCs. For RP, you may want to set up a Jedi Council reenactment with people holo'd in. I think the user interface and options will evolve over time. I think they are off to a great start though.
  9. Compare this to SWG which allowed a ton of animated NPCs in their housing. The only thing I can think of that would cause the need for network traffic or DB hits (after the initial load) would be their ability to respond to quests. That could be a push event from the server and could be limited to one active at a time. All of the animations and phrases could be client side. So, if you think about a mount or companion in game. 10. Can you guys post your PvP builds?
  11. I just wanted to say how stupid [X] is. It's game breaking and I am going to have to quit if you don't change [X]. [X] was way better before. If you focused more on [X] and less on the story, this game MAY survive. ~Sorry, I just wanted to participate in the swtor community. I think this template will help me. It's very sad to see such a complaining community. Every game has flaws. There is nothing wrong with posting constructive criticism, but please stop the whining. If you really hate the game, speak w/ your wallet and unsubscribe. There's really no reason to destroy the community on the way out.
