  1. Yes you have to either drop your rank from guild leader or leave the guild. Disbanding the guild to reestablish it on the other server.
  2. Thanks for the heads up. I would have just let it go.
  3. News from the front, Its always good to hear that the process is working. I'm glad that you took the time to post your out come here. Perhaps it will make a difference with some.
  4. Agreed, But where and who would get the new shinny server?
  5. Good luck with that. In 6 months you will probably be gnashing your teeth at GW2. To many people reporting how its not all that from their point of view. But, by all means as I see it one must see things for themselves. Maybe it will be better...however I am not going to waste my time or money to find out what many others have said is true.
  6. I'm here until the doors close. Its not perfect by any means and neither will be any mmo's to come. Many will go to the next big thing only to be let down and move on to the next afterward. Star Wars is the universe I will remain in, this will be here for a long time. It will be here, evolved and better, ready and waiting for the ones who figure out they want to give it the second look that it will deserve in the future and that the other games are just not as special as first thought. To those leaving good luck and happy hunting, for those on the fence, keep watching, for those of us remaining keep the faith and enjoy things as they come.
  7. Well said my thoughts on the matter as well. But for me it would be killing gnomes
  8. This^ And they can keep it. I'll not go in to detail on how stupid this money sink legacy idea is to me. Legacy levels mean dick. It all comes down to the amount of credits you have to throw at it. Legacy levels are just a BS way to manage it.
  9. I am just going to have to say that we must agree to disagree...I just do not support cross server LFG. Server LFG however is just fine to me.
  10. Guild size does not matter, a jerk regardless of guild size is a jerk. It worked in WoW very well...Thunderhorn is one of the oldest servers in that game and if you we're shown to be a jerk to group with...most players that knew would not group with you...or if they did they took their chances. If they ignore the accuser they do so at their own peril.
  11. You are aware that every MMO allows that as well. If your pathetic enough to take a piece of gear from someone that may need and use it, that you have no use for other then for mere credits then I am not interested in playing with that sort anyway. The minute I find out this person has done this several times I will not group with them. Its validation enough when a player proves the constant habit of doing this. Of course I don't roll on what I cant use so I must be missing out on a lot of credits huh.
  12. No from my experience AND my opinion. There is no supporting evidence for the position that cross server LFG tools do not affect server communities adversely as well.(Other then the fact perhaps the main reason it has not been in place is fact enough?). Maybe this is your opinion at play here as well? I made no sensational claims btw, only that the FACT that server communities are affected adversely by cross server. To deny that this happens is naive. Oh I'm not trying to stop you from enjoying the game. I'm just objecting to the server communities and player accountability being compromised. No, they will face the possibility of being isolated and punished for their play practices by their fellow players of the servers they are on or if they change the one they land on. Yes...server community ostracizing does work...and works very well. The likely hood of x server reporting being used is ZERO because of how it can be used to grief others reputations. Try to make your case to player x's server if you wish but, unless player x has a rep for doing the same there you are pissing in the wind. Actually...its not that cleaver but thank you for quoting me. I honestly see no community in the /general chat that is fleet on the servers I play on... and where did this pressing NEED for a community come from... there is no community inherent in an MMO... its just massive, multi-player and online... If it were a MMOC... Massive Multiplayer Online Community... then you might have a leg to stand on in your "community" argument? The concept of community on servers is as old a as muds & mmo's, even back as far as chat rooms each one has their OWN community. Your "We are the world" concept is a community all in its own. The fact there is a COMMUNITY section in these forums confirms the community aspect. The very fact BW themselves speak of community assures it. I feel my idea of server community is on VERY stout legs.
  13. Yes I would indeed care to. Accountability is having the option to advise your fellow server occupants that said person joins groups to "Ninja" loot, to create problems during runs, to waste the play time of others. So those that are aware can make a choice not to group with that player and save themselves the pain in the arse experience they may be in store for. A server community will police its self to an extent if given the ability to do so. When players are outed for the things they willfully do and are isolated due to that activity they either are forced to rethink how they play or move along. That is the accountability process in practice.
  14. Perhaps some did not know this is very true. However, players normally pick accordingly to play style. Nothing is ever certain when we choose unless we in some way or form have a marvelous insight to the situation. The gloom and doom claims about "human debri" being a big problem in LFG tools is completely false. I have used similar tools in other games like WoW and there is no noticeable increase in idiots if you use the LFG tool. Prior to a LFG tool, the majority of the so called "human debri" is the members of the largest guilds who lord over the rest of the community and ninja anything they want because they can get away with it. I'm happy that your experience with cross server LFG tools has been a utopia. However, to say it is the same for all or the saving grace of game play, is a falsehood all in its own. That it has no effect on server communities and in many ways fosters a devil may care attitude is not only false but also misleading. Here in you make my point, if those who "lord" over others join groups to ninja loot or be and arse, simple enough to just not group with them and to make certain the server community knows what they do. Guild size means nothing or has no baring in cross server LFG. You do not have this recourse of action with cross server LFG, UNLESS the ability to report that activity is available...I would wager it would not be.
  15. What is honestly poor here is possibly your grasp of what cross server LFG tools do to all communities from all servers. You may feel free to play with as many as you wish. No one would deny you that. However, I like knowing the people I play with. I also like to know that players will be held accountable if they choose to behave like an arse when they group with others. When players come from all over into groups then those who choose to misbehave can do so at their leisure with very little repercussions. Your vision is admirable but not as practical as you may hope. The 800 pound MMO Gorilla is a huge victim of this very concept.
