  1. First off, your assumptions about what I'm doing on the market are wrong. Secondly, it's rather obnoxious to suggest someone leave and QQ because they have a different opinion than yours. If you don't want to read other opinions, consider starting your own blog.
  2. You do realize they take less on the front end, but more on the back end, don't you?
  3. Hate it. It encourages frivolous selling and unrealistic asking prices. It should require some thought and some research before you put an item up. Combined with the glut of apparently unwanted rare crafting items from the gambling boxes, I am not happy about the impact to the GTN. Just barely related, but the ctr-leftclick item preview of items on GTN is broken for some companions. I know BW was under tremendous pressure to get the cartel shop out there and give the new model a try, but as someone who liked to use the GTN I can't say I like the impact it has had.
  4. Depending on what you want, some of the items unlock with Legacy Level OR Coins OR Credits. Your choice. Click on anything that has a Cartel Coin icon in the corner and you should see these choices.
  5. Holy shyte. I better take another look at the EULA. Is it 5.5 years and then you earn rights, or are they pro-rated so you can get some lesser rights after 4 years??
  6. I found the most useful stuff you can buy with coins is not in the market at all. Look at the legacy unlocks, eg. rocket boost, mailbox for your ship, etc. Look there. If you really want gear, then see if any of the armor is to your liking or the orange crystals will be best in slot for any sub 50 toon. Lemme think... the Outlaw's armor looks pretty good except the helm. It's also got some flexibility to it, as fashionable black boots, pants, and gloves might come in handy if you mix and match later on. Nothing else is all that exciting and the novelty wears off pretty quickly. . Don't buy the gambling boxes! You might think you are going to end up looking like Darth Nihilus in a levitation throne with white lightsabers. But odds are you will end up being another shirtless doofus in invisible armor with a pink lightsaber. The former now gluts the GTN for a few thousand credits, the latter is glitched and can't even be sold. We don't even know those odds, which makes it a pretty poor gamble, and the odds can be tweaked up or down on a whim.
  7. Jaesa won't turn off her lightsaber whether it's holstered or not. It just pokes out of the top of her head.
  8. I will think of you next labor day. Right alongside police, firemen, EMTs, and the dying breed of American factory workers... and the guy who cried nerd tears because BW didn't, in his expert opinion, live up to the high standards he learned at AOL.
  9. LOL. You know how it's done cuz AOL wrote the book on customer service, amirite? Argument from authority is a logical fallacy. Argument from AOL is bewildering to say the least.
  10. Seems the pink purple does what it should... Strikes horror into your foes. BTW, why can't it be sold on GTN even thought it is not bound? People constantly spam chat with them as a result.
  11. You are right. It's simple marketing. It's worded as if to avoid backlash from cynical subscribers rather than to attract new people. A happy medium should have been found.
  12. That would show complete disregard for me, a paying customer, who gives them such awesome development ideas for free when I really should be charging them.
  13. I only want to see it succeed if the lead developer contacts me personally, and agrees that I can play a pink furred Ewok wearing Revan's pajamas, hood down, wielding a pair of white and purple striped light sabres, for free plus unlimited cartel coins. Then again, if he agrees, I'll have to assume I could have asked for even more... so still no.
  14. I just thought I'd share this story... I logged on last night mainly to check out the GTN. I had huge, huge lag. The kind where the game sends you to your own personal Imperial Fleet gulag, and you have to stand alone and motionless waiting for the final kick back to the server screen. I restarted, and it happened again. Checked my connection and everything came up OK, yet it happened again. Then I started thinking about hordes of F2Pers starting out, and incompetent BW having no idea how to handle the additional tax on the servers. I had a big ol’ rant brewing on the nerd range. I was going to QQ and threaten and cry salty nerd tears all over the forum and I know damn well I’d have had a chorus of support for blaming all my frustrations on F2P and BW. For no good reason, because I already knew who to blame, I did a tracert. Instead of the proof I was looking for, I had a horror show moment like in When a Stranger Calls… the lag was inside the house. The why and the how is above my head, but my wireless card was reporting a good connection even though it wasn’t “N” or 5GHz. There’s nothing wrong with a 2.4GHz network per se, except when you know you aren’t running one. I reinstalled my Intel drivers, restarted, and the whole problem went away. I expect a lot of witch hunting and futile nerd rage… like the kind I narrowly avoided Oh, and the massive devaluing of GTN items as attention and the initial glut of coins goes to the cartel market.
