  1. Been a sniper since just past release and it seems like there aren't a ton of info sources out there due to the low numbers of our class. I've been a Lethality sniper as long as I've run operations but I'm looking at maybe going MM or even Eng just to try different things out. My question is rather two fold, mostly dealing with stats. What's a good crit chance percentage for lethality? I know softcap is 30% and that's what MM specs usually shoot for. I've heard running near 40% is good for leth snipers but I that's mostly been in passing. I'm at around 37% right now and if I can sacrifice some for power to help my damage output I would do so. Part 2 of that question is can I run MM with around the same stats as Leth and still be successful? Crit seems to be the only real difference, if the 40% crit rate for leth holds true, so I should be able to swap relatively easy from one spec to another with little to no itemization changes. Any help would be appreciate, like I said earlier, googling this kind of thing doesn't really give any solid answers other than pointing to noxxic. If anyone knows any good sniper info sources please feel free to share. Thanks in advance for the help!
  2. Aye and I know that's one of the reasons that Cunning and Power are somewhat equal on the ratio scale. Gotta love that 9% buff.
  3. That's what I figured. I know looking at the 1:1 ratio it's rather obvious, but since I'm one of the 6 snipers in this game I like to discuss =) Thank you!
  4. Between reading posts ad nauseum and using the Sniper spreadsheet (hopefully mostly correct lol) I've always put a premium on Cunning over Power. However the more I look at the higher gear, DG and Campaign, I'm wondering what's a better choice for mods primarily: 56 Cunning and 44 Power or 72 Cunning and 13 Power. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Other than plugging in the numbers I want to know if anyone has actually tested this. I mean I still feel that Cunning is slightly greater than Power on a 1 to 1 basis, but just picking the higher Cunning number on mods might not always be the best choice. Looking forward to the discussion!
  5. Well I just started getting into Denova and the main part of this was it's just interesting how they chose to itemize. No need to be negative about it. I have since looked at everything, did the math, and now what to grab. Thanks.
  6. I understand that as a whole, I'm just talking on a piece by piece basis. Seems like I'm losing a TON of stats in one department to the point where if I acquire that gear I have to hold off until I acquire the modification to go along with it till I can equip it and make use of it. Make more sense?
  7. Looking at it more, I really don't understand the MK-3 gear either. Granted I've only viewed a couple pieces, but why does it appear that I'm losing stats? Is there someone out there who's acquiring the Campaign/BH gear that can give me some advice on gearing past Rakata?
  8. yeah that's what I'm not really understanding on the "upgrade". The way it looks to me right now is the MK-1 stuff is for people who can't get rakata quick enough so they just grind out BH commendations. If I'm going to rip out all my rakata mods to install into BH ones, why not just keep my rakata and keep my set bonus? I like the fact that we can edit our gear to our specific wants/needs, but when I'm getting a supposed upgrade I shouldn't be losing a TON of other stats for no reason.
  9. I've been starting to get to the point where I can replace my Rakata gear with BH Mk-1 gear and I've been noticing there's really not too much of a difference stat wise (sniper). If anything I've noticed that the BH gear mainly seems to be a little weaker on the stats I'd need to use if going with the targeter/trapper gear. Not to mention losing my set bonus. Have you guys been getting BH Mk-1 gear or holding out for campaign? Any thoughts to this would be helpful so we can get a discussion going as I'm bored at work =) Thanks in advance!
  10. I've looked over the compendium on sithwarrior.com and I'm trying to make sure my mods/enhancements/armoring is itemized correctly. I've seen some say go for the "Artful" line of mods when gearing. What are people shooting for stat priority wise? Cunning up to what number before moving to the next stat, if you know what I mean. I'm in all Columi gear at the moment and starting to work on Rakata and I need to know what to look for. Thank you!
  11. As a former full MM sniper that resisted Lethality and finally caved in, I used this to help: http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/Thread-The-1-2-Lethality-Sniper-Dirty-Fighting-Gunslinger-Compendium IT also gives a standard rotation, but I've noticed with Lethality you have to be a little situational. Be advised, you won't mow down trash as quickly as you would with MM due to Lethality's set up time, but in long fights I noticed with equal gear I was able to pump out about 300-400 more DPS with lethality and have come to begrudingly love it.
  12. Awesome info everyone and thank you. That's exactly what I needed. Looks like I'll just stand fast. Again thanks!
