  1. Don't make the mistake of thinking trooper = good guy and bounty hunter = bad guy. I'm playing a dark side vanguard and can honestly say there are some really great dark side options as a trooper. It's more a choice of if you want to go republic or empire imo

  3. So, if there is one thing I know from lurking the World of Warcraft board's for a while now, is that negativity is the common mood in MMO forums. When people have a great time playing a game, they go: "Hey, that was fun! NEXT!" and keep playing or log off. When people have a bad experience with a game, the most natural thing to do is come on the company's forums and point out the issues that caused said negative experience. However, if a person were to come to these forums, maybe to decide on if they should buy the game or not, they would probably come away thinking this is the worst MMO...ever. I feel confident enough to say that A LOT of people are enjoying this game immensely right now, even with it's flaws. Is it perfect (or even close to perfect)? No - and it never will be. The goal is just to try and get it there, inch by inch, patch by patch, over the course of it's lifetime. To do this, Bioware needs constructive feedback. Saying "lol PvP in this game is such a joke" tells them NOTHING except general dissatisfaction. They don't know if you dislike class balance, the warzones, world PvP, etc. So I guess the point of this post is to simply remind people that, if you're going to complain (which is perfectly fine) - just do it in a manner that can help Bioware and not just add some derogatory random remarks about the game no one can use to the ever-growing pile we already have. On a personal level, I'm pretty convinced that some people truly tried TOR with the mindset of trying to find as many flaws as possible. Why anyone would do this is beyond me, but nevertheless, there are people out there who literally get enjoyment out of making games and companies seem worse than they really are.
  4. Go into your preferences and increase the operation frames' length and height, This will make the frames much more healer friendly. It's not great but it's a temporary solution until add-ons become available.
  5. I just wanted to remind people (like me) who love to re-roll and play tons of characters at the same time: you might just want to pick a character and stick with it until you complete the first act of that character's story (this is usually around levels 30-34). This will unlock your SERVER WIDE legacy surname and RESERVE that name (because just like first names, surnames are unique per server.) If you don't care about the last name, it will still benefiet you greatly because it will allow you to add legacy levels on every character you level. Just something to think about.
  6. It just seems to me that the tier-1 telekinetic talents that increase your force by 100 are just too good to pass up for any sage spec. This is unfortunate for players who like to really experiment with specs and try hybrid stuff. Play around with a talent calculator for a bit and you'll understand what I mean. In short, those 2 talent points seem so good, that going 30 into seer and then 10 into balance for force in balance is somewhat crippling. As are any spec that does not at least include 2 points into telekinetics. Am I overestimating the importance of the +100 force talents or should this be looked at in the future for class balance?
  7. I think you'll be impressed. The sheer amount of voice acting in the game really adds to the file size of the overall game. You'll understand when you've played for days why the game is so big.
  8. The term "good enough" really comes to mind when thinking of a "vanilla" MMO launch - as in you just want the game to be in a "good enough" condition at launch and then work on improvement from there. Honestly, the bugs there are in this game are pretty minimal compared to most MMO launches. Think of all the things that Bioware had to get into this game just to compete with WoW: linked flight points, warzones, raids (operations), etc. All those things were not included when WoW launched - they have had 6 YEARS to add features to their game and iron out the bugs. Bioware has had to start off with many of those features people now take for granted. Just be patient and give Bioware some time. Report anything gamebreaking and it should be patched very shortly.
  9. Maturity, plain and simple. I rolled on a RPPVP server and the people have been nothing but nice - even general chat is pleasant. In general, I find RPers to be much more mature players. They are people who play the game for fun above all else, and put stuff like getting good gear behind making strong social connections on the server. This is pretty much true for every MMO I've played, and SWTOR has not changed my opinion of that at all.
