  1. If a target is not selected you will not roll into cover, either. I use that rather than shift-f. I like it as is because the roll into cover can be used effectively if you are creative. I like to lay down some fire with Flyby or Incendiary and roll through it on the way to cover - it seems to make most PvP attackers lose track of me or just switch to a different target. Also, cover in place reduces damage, hard cover negates it unless you are actually popped up while shooting.
  2. Sab is fine in PvE. I run HMs just fine and the AoE vs. tough mobs comes in really handy. Sab has enough 'straight-line' for bosses even if straight SS is a bit more efffective vs. a single target. Good enough on Bosses plus great on mobs, imo.
  3. First thing I thought. "Ugh, I must be old.. Kids are writing this game.." Anyone who accepts the re-ordering of the saga is a 'young-un' in my twisted little mind..
  4. I am also grateful that capes are gone, but why go to another extreme? Can we just have some basic practical 'real-smuggler' gear? I'm still wearing an orange torso piece from level 15 or so. The modding and customization are the only saving grace of the clothing sets..
  5. ..not to mention Mass Effect 3's launch and LOTRO's last content which dropped about a week ago.
  6. I have been lucky enough to score 4 pieces of Enforcer gear to get the set bonus as a roaming PuG GS Saboteur, so grouping can take awhile, but if you bother doing the Ilum dailys first and stay kind you might find that Gunslingers get invites. It's been fine for me. The HMs when I and a Scoundrel rocked the dual XS-flybys were a blast! For Gunslingers play is solid all the way from 1 to 50 in my opinion. I don't PvP much, but did fine the handful of times that I tried it. Not great, but second-most MVP votes once etc. The class must be decent if I did ok without a clue! : p
  7. Personal True Story: I just ran through Maelstrom Prison normal mode (solo w/ Companion) about 20 times over two days 'while waiting for Hard Mode Groups to form' with my LFG flag on and advertising/watching fleet in between runs. Over the 20-some hours I spent on my two days off hoping for some HMs I got 2 (TWO!) group opportunities, both of which ended up wiping due to weak links and poor communication. I'd love to group, *screams* LOVE TO, but the opportunities just aren't there. I am in a fun but small guild who's members are mostly on Empire Side. The lack of basic Voice Chat and the poor grouping tools are so 'hardcore' that good groups are the true top-tier, ultra-rare uber loot of SWTOR that comes along so rarely that the rush 'just can't be compared'. So elite..
  8. Because soloing in an MMO is preferable to playing with people who cry 'entitlement complex' when the original poster was simply saying it would be nice to have the option. Thanks for standing up tall to show us what type of player is less fun than an NPC.
  9. Sage is also EZ mode (in low-level PvE at least) compared to Gunslinger.
  10. I'll never, ever wear that butt-ugly cape. I'm staying with my orange chest-piece and will take the mods from the ugly-cape when the patch to do so comes out. I'm incredibly grateful for the patch. The current ones are too ugly to wear, stats be damned.
  11. I just logged out of the final encounter of Reaper. We got behind the adds etc and nothing happened. The adds' shield was down form all normal UI feedback, but it just stood there, no damage. If this is so secret that even knowing 'the secret meta-knowledge' does not halep, then I think it is bugged or a really lame idea for a flashpoint. Whatevs, Bioware, whatevs..
  12. I'm running sabo-slinger and find the same to be true. One Sorc. at a time is a fight, but it is usually 3+ and I get stunned and rooted to death. I only PvP when extremely bored. Not much of a solution, but the gear is ugly and I'd be ashamed to wear it given all the kill-traders wearing it, so it isn't a huge loss other than the fun PvP could have been or might be at some point in the future.
  13. I can't buy into the argument that hitting a giant wall of waiting-for-group-fail for raids is intentional for one major reason - The crafting and PvP are basically broken as well. 'They are addressing it' according to Devs.. Kill Trading is openly advertised in General Chat..And actively participated in. You can go to Ilum and watch general chat, or fleet for that matter to verify. I could add on the 'extertise' mechanic and the ugliness of the gear, but I think the 'broken so bad 30% of the LvL 50 community cheats' issue is enough of an indicator of a broken element of gameplay. The crafted gear being weaker than gear you can go kill-trade for ties in as well. Crafters of the affected professions must have spent time Reverse-Engineering to obtain non-existent recipes only to find out that the vendor gear is, after all, the best in-game. Seriously, fixing this after a couple months is really weak. How in blazes does that not get attention in development? Still playing, still making alts, but I am really bored. Love ya Bioware, but please get your basic **** together before adding any new broken cosmetics like my music droid.. EDIT: This is related to the topic way back when it was mentioned that it was a design decision to get players to go back and replay a different story, and rinse and repeat, for end-game content and fun.
  14. I have utilized Akaavi quite a bit. There is a blue staff on Belsavis as part of the regular missions that gets you by until Ilum's 'Open Communications' daily 4 person Heroic and the pretty good staff for her. If you armor her up well I find her techniques to be pretty effective. she is not as weapon-reliant as Bowdaar or Risha in my experience. Don't be shy, just be ready to fall back of break line of sight form enemies while she finishes them off and you should do ok. I do have a more mobile 'on your toes' playstyle with Akaavi, but she is my favorite companion even if I have to pull out Guss for the really damaging bosses in a small room.
  15. I've been around awhile as well. I'm having a blast despite some obvious voids in the experience right now. The critics need to realize how HUGE this game is and forego the shaky content while it gets ironed out. I'm starting a second character rather than play a lot of PvP or kill trade at this point, so yeah, I acknowledge some things need work, buta little realism is in order. After doing the bonus series's (sp?), getting through some HMs, and gearing up for PvP I have a solid appreciation for Bioware's work so far. I'll pay to see what comes next without hesitation.
