  1. SWTOR has pretty much a 5-level "can't touch this" setup to prevent players from simply powering through the class quest and skipping all the other stuff. The same rule applies to NPCs, once you're 5 levels or higher above an NPC, it's basically impossible for them to hit you.
  2. Well, to rules-lawyer a bit, we're playing the "old republic", which is some 3000 years before the time of Anakin, Luke and Kenobi. I think the "styles change" is a better argument than "look at the movies". As far as gaming goes, billowly, flowy, poofy clothing is difficult to animate. You either attempt to come up with every possible movement it could make, which will eventually run into problems. You could make a few movements(see: WoW cloaks), which gets boring, or you could make them dynamic, which is highly process-intensive. Personally, while a few modern-Republic-era jedi robes would be cool, on the whole I think most clothing designs in the game help to establish a unique look for the game, instead of making it look like X star wars we've already seen.
  3. I see you haven't played Champions Online yet. All MMOs have bugs, in fact they're caused by players in many cases. SWTOR is still not even a year old, it's level of stability is pretty good. But it cannot get better without maintenance.
  4. Agreed. Let us use the mount we like the most, same way the modding system lets us use gear we like the most.
  5. I'm not sure why you have to tell us, it's not like we're gonna cry about it.
  6. It's called probability, while the law of averages may state that over time, you will get your 20%, the fact is, each RE is an independent roll. There's no guarantee that you'll actually average out over time.
  7. Except trade in-game is a virtual contract, and you can report a player who agrees to do something for you and then instead steals your stuff.
  8. I suppose being able to play a broken, buggy game is better than waiting a couple hours to play a working, not-buggy game. Like the guy above me said, go out drinking for a couple hours.
  9. No, it shouldn't. 1/5 and 20% are two different things, and the number of times you'd actually have to make the roll in order to see if it's 20% or not is huge(at least a thousand), beyond that, computers aren't truly random.
  10. To an extent I disagree. Saying "I've never felt this way about a woman." since quite possibly Vette(or another female in question) may have felt that way about a man is entirely reasonable. But as it's been pointed out, I'd like to see some variety, I think it's pretty obvious that DS Jaesa really doesn't care to much who or what she gets nookie from, and the same is probably true for other characters as well. Just as Theran flirts with fem-consular in your first conversation with him, some people see it and know they want it. Some folks may need to warm up to the idea, even Malavi needs to be slow-cooked to even show some feelings for the fem-warrior. He's quite possibly a character who's never thought about his sexuality, or sexuality of any sort at all! But, again, it is that diversity among how companions approach the player about romance that makes it fun to play through all the different stories. I still feel that the simplest and most player-empowering option would be to select an orientation at character creation. "heterosexual", "homosexual", "neutral/bisexual" "none", which would effectively toggle which romances are active for you in the game.
  11. The Old Republic has literally thousands of years of open story. The Extended Universe is basically the domain of every bad Star Wars mary-sue ever conceived. I much prefer the OR to the EU.
  12. Sure. Realistically every race should have gotten minor storyline tweaks based on race, nothing game-making, but just some realistic re-flavoring. But cest'la'vie. Perhaps in the future they'll add in such content, but I wouldn't count on it and honestly re-voicing rather minor dialog that references your race would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
  13. Basically, this. It's why I resubbed after deciding I wasn't that interested way back in Beta and watching the population take a nose-dive. Sure, I can play without a group finder, but I'm not really feeling the MMO aspect of it when I solo content or spam Fleet Chat all day LFG.
