  1. No, this is not at all what happened. They're trying to charge me one more time when I already bought the space missions. BW created this discontinuity, I'm not going to applaud them for solving their own problem via cash-shop. If they're willing to do this with the space missions, soon enough we'll start seeing more skippable grinds whenever new content comes out. Expect to see more new content gated by obnoxious grinds or cartel-market purchases. Space mission is their first foray into this.
  2. By grade 6 I mean grade 6 missions. They have grade 6 parts, but they never made content balanced around those parts. The grade 5 missions are loleasy with grade 6 parts.
  3. It's clearly not balanced without CM content. If there was no CM they would have either made level 6 missions, instead of jumping form level 5 to level 7, or made it easier to get the level 7 stuff. If they are going to implement an unbalanced, unfun grind in an attempt to extract fees from me for content I have already paid for then I am going elsewhere. If I went to a movie theatre and bought a ticket at the box office, but then when I went to theatre the usher told me that there was a seat fee, I would not go to that movie theatre again. That's what I'm doing. I guess you'd be the guy who points out that I could just stand for the entire movie.
  4. http://www.swtor.com/free/features If it's DLC, it's DLC I already paid for.
  5. I strongly believe that the space fleet comms would have been in the neighborhood of 200-250 fleet comms before they implemented the cash shop. Similarly, I doubt HK-51 would have been 1 million credits for an account unlock before the implementation of the cash shop.
  6. Unless they're balancing missions/ops/etc... around P2W, then it is NOT to everyone's benefit.
  7. Except the grind has clearly been taken up a notch. The comm cost of the level 7 stuff in PTS was like 200 fleet comms per upgrade. I do not believe the comm cost of the upgrades would be 500 comms butfor the cash shop. They are making grinds longer than they would be butfor the cash shop. That is the problem.
  8. I have a seven figure net worth. I still don't like getting nickel-and-dimed.
  9. So free-to-play really means BW is raising the cost of the game to ~$25 a month.
  10. I'm a subscriber? Seriously, these are the dumbest arguments. Sorry, just because someone made a forum post one time about how they didn't like space missions or that they want free-to-play doesn't justify everything and anything.
  11. So BW has apparently deleted other threads on this topic. I wonder how long this thread will last. If BW starts balancing content with cash shop purchases in mind, why have a subscription? My subscription should give me full access to space, operations, flashpoints and PvP balanced on my subscription. That's what it says on the website. The space missions are not balanced on a subscribers account, the balance is clearly around a subscriber purchasing at least some cash shop items, which is absurd. Do they honestly expect people to grind space missions every day for a month to step foot into these new space missions? No. They're gonna wait for you to break down and What happens if BW implements a grind to gain entry to a new operation or flashpoint, but then allows someone to use cartel coins to bypass that gate. That's what I'm afraid of. Subscribers should have full access to content without an assumption that they will spend cartel coins. BW is clearly the testing the waters here. If BW succeeds with this, I predict we will see gated entry to new PVE content with a cash shop bypass. Just wait until Makeb requires you either a.) grind Makeb access comms for weeks or b.) spend 1000 CC.
  12. I didn't complain about them being a waste of time. I was excited about new space content. Maybe there are different groups of players?
  13. And games exist to be fun and make you feel good about yourself. So EA should care.
