  1. ^^ All estimates are fair enough. If you consider the 55 operations. And know you will have to join a PUG group. Put aside 2-3 hours. I say that because you frequently get a group where 1-2 people are under geared, another person who doesn't respond to chat and is completely ruining your groups mechanics and possibly a few who decide to ditch the group after the weekly is complete (halfway through the Operation). It can be a rough situation, and from the few times i attempted to go outside of my guild to put together an Operation, I'd say 2/3 experiences resembled one or more of those situations. There are many casual guilds out there that would drastically improve your experience in Operations and would be more than happy to have a casual player like yourself. i think that would be your best option for improving your overall experience in the game.
  2. Most things you say about Sorc DPS is true. But if played correctly you can compete with almost any class. Obviously a skilled Mara or Sniper, you have no chance against in a pure DPS contest on any fight. The Short and Simple: If you want to be top DPS, time to make an ALT. If you enjoy the class, go for it. You can clear all content with a Sorc as long as you are skilled enough to play one. Understanding that no matter what you do, you will not top the charts in a good group.
  3. Healing PvE is still very viable. I suggest running Flashpoints and HM Flashpoints until you are confident enough in your healing abilities, and have at least half (69) gear (it may take many attempts to get this gear, there are only 2 drops on each Flashpoint). And no gear lower than (66). At that point you can start to heal 55 Operations on Story mode. In SM Operations you will get your set bonus back, which you will lose while getting (69) gear from HM FPs. The gear in Sm operations is (69) with set-bonus and better stats on Mods/Enhancements. Then work your way up through HM and NiM.
  4. ^^ that long unnecessary response...ignore it. No you cannot queue for level 50 Operation at 55. The only way is to put a group together for yourself and walk in. Advertise on the fleet until you have enough people. Truthfully as a 55 you should only need the weekly. If you still need the gear dropped in the operations as a 55, you did something wrong.
  5. ^^^Orderken's guide. Also if you build 2-3 stacks of force surge pre Boss pull during a FP or OP it can make your life much easier.
  6. I would just like to point out that in lowbie flashpoints as a healer I always insist on getting guard from the tank. For 2 reasons. 1. The tank is usually not highly skilled and/or does not have all of their proper abilities necessary to control the pulls throughout the FP. Thus chaos ensues and as a healer I inevitably have to fend off adds for myself, lowering my ability to heal. 2. The DPS in the group are not generally high quality players. Most often they are f2p and have no idea who to target first (always going for the toughest opponents, instead of the weakest first) or just don't have a good grasp of their new toon. Being a skilled healer, I generally am able to heal smoothly enough to DPS as well. When the tank is not controlling the FP and the DPS are both focusing the Champion in the group, all eyes turn to the healer. And the worst part is no one seems to notice or care. For those reasons I would always recommend guarding your healer from the beginning, and only switching guard if a DPS proves to be competent enough to steal aggro. It's a l2p issue no doubt, but guarding your healer can ease that pain while your frustration builds behind your mediocre group. I would also argue that this is the proper form in 55 FP's especially if you don't know the other players you get matched with. But I would hope by 55 as a DPS you understand proper kill orders.
  7. There's no way to track the group members in a Flashpoint. After the group dissolves there is no record of it.
  8. Your summary of chapter 1 was decent. Please read chapter 2 in the PVP text and continue to progress, report back when you have made some progress. GL
  9. Could you have any more of a liberal, "everyone deserves everything" view on how to destroy the class structure of this game?
  10. I assume you are all talking about either lightning or madness. Because force barrier does receive self healing if you spec into it in corruption. As for my opinion on the force cost, it is high for a reason. Imagine if the cost was reduced by 30% for arguments sake (which is a lot I know). The amount of damage you could prevent during a raid would be HUGE, this would not be a good change at all.
  11. I couldn't disagree more. But its no secret all other things being equal Snipers/Mara's will out DPS on many of the fights. Exceptional players will provide enough DPS on almost any toon with any advanced class, its all about the player.
  12. Was it officially posted? or do you mean from reading other posters on this thread?
  13. ^^ all good advice. I would just like to add that you can spend a LOT of time trying to get 100% min-max'ed. I would suggest spending credits/Mats on enhancements if you can afford them. And using your vendor to buy (in my case it was bracers X7) for the Mod you need. The bracers cost 80 Ultimate Comms and you just rip out the mod, and throw them away. Don't waste your Comms on buying head/chest/legs, ect. those pieces you will get from Underworld Drops in HM OP's. Then just simply move he Mods/Enhancements to those pieces to retain the 4-set bonus. You generally want to keep your 4 set (69) bonus while you are trying to get the 4-set (72). its just a matter of moving around Mods/Enhancements along the way.
  14. (63) and (66) will be your best bet. But your gear/skill level and the gear/skill level of your healer is directly related. If the tank and healer are both low on gear it will be a difficult run. Because I am assuming this is your first go at the HM FPs I suggest having everything in at least (61), and make sure your implants, earpiece, belt and bracers are of equal quality. This will allow you to go through them properly. The more gear the better, but don't waste your time getting everything to (66) either. Your worst problem is going to be dealing with the Aholes who don't like running with fresh 55s because they are just Comm farming. Dont get discouraged, GL!
  15. Making the new OPs SM require (72) and drop (75), and HM's require (75) and drops (new high level gear) is not unreasonable at all. This just forces people to progress as follows: Ding 55, FP's, SM TFB/SV, HM TFB/SV, then either NiM TFB/SV or New OPs SM, New OPs HM. That seems very reasonable to me. Yes only the most geared teams will be able to compete in the new HM's quickly, but it forces a reasonable progression. Otherwise I could take a fresh 55 and have them running the new Operations on HM in 3 weeks. IF for some reason the new HM's only require (72) gear then the new operations are not a progression based addition to the game. They would stand much more as equals to TFB and SV instead of ahead of them in a linear content POV. I fully expect the new SM's to require (72) gear. I hope, I hope, I hope.
