  1. Maybe I misunderstood, but of course it will be possible. There's a difference between solo progression and soloing heroic 4s that you encounter during your progression, which are completely optional.
  2. This guys, this. The game's full of intentional credit sinks, and the only hope we have of getting a wardrobe option is to have yet more credit sinks added to the game to replace the one that'd be lost by implementing such a feature. And no, they aren't putting them there just to spite you, they are an essential part of the entire game's design that's been around since its inception. They're present in every MMO in one form or another. Those that don't "tax" you for tweaking your appearance will make you spend more in-game currency for other things. That said, it's an option I'd love to see implemented, and I do think that BW has always gone just a bit too overboard with these sinks, but it might be just me.
  3. I completely agree with your view on Strongholds, but in all honesty it's a massive feature with a lot of content for a single patch, and due to the way it's implemented it will be easy for them to keep adding utilities to it on top of decorations in the future. One step at a time. I cannot comment on conquests as I've been guildless for the longest time.
  4. I enjoy chance packs because I know what I'm getting into when I spend CC (usually it's CCs that I've passively earned through my sub). It's very similar in nature to a booster pack and I find it quite entertaining. Obviously people should never buy one expecting to get anything of value in it. If it happens, great. If not, it was fun opening it regardless.
  5. What you're suggesting is fun only under certain circumstances. Namely, the players must be adequately geared, comfortable with the game mechanics, and have a decent understanding of all the unique fights in the FP. By going slow and taking a short while before each large pull / boss fight, and explaining the occasional unique mechanics, you ensure that even if someone is (for whatever reason) a bit lacking in performance, you still have a chance to make it without a wipefest. I would say it's not such an unpopoular opinion as you make it out to be that fast and smooth FP runs are the best ones. It's just not always possible. I suggest you team up with friends that you trust if you want that to be the only FP experience you are willing to go through.
  6. Pretty much that. Besides, [assumption] it's probably much easier to code it that way. [/assumption]
  7. Just doing some dailies on Corellia. What you did there. I see it.
  8. As an Operative healer, I believe enrage timers were also implemented to counter the fact that fights can literally last forever as long as there is a tank and a half-competent healer living, due to the energy regeneration mechanics. I still don't think it's the optimal way of doing it, and I would rather see more unique solutions, such as the ones in Lost Island. I believe that place shows that they are trying to move in the right direction.
  9. I'm talking about indirect sources, such as metrics from players who are actually playing the game. Those never lie. I'm not saying they are doing an excellent job, I do have my share of complains too, but I was merely replying to the OP.
  10. The Legacy system was definitely disappointing for me, but I still retain some hopes for the future. I'm trying to look at it as a mere sketch of what it's supposed to be, rather than an almost-complete feature.
  11. To quote what is rumored to be the actual statement of a Bioware employee: “If we could give people a magic hat that would create for them the exact RPG experience they’d always dreamed of, they’d complain about the color of the hat.” People will continue complaining no matter what, and Bioware knows this. It's perfectly normal. Thankfully, forums are only one of the many sources of feedback at their disposal.
  12. Cross server, no way, for the usual reasons. I think it's pretty much common knowledge by now that it can completely destroy communities. Some people don't really care much for that, but I do. Within the same server, sure. This game actually needs such a thing.
  13. I can imagine, I simply assumed from OP's wording that he knew what he was risking and that he attempted moving away.
  14. I agree that this shouldn't be happening on a PvE server, but you do have enough time to get away before someone explodes, especially if you actually expect it. I haven't read all your posts so I might be missing something, but even if he was on a speeder, you should know that the game automatically dismounts you and "stuns" you for a few seconds before having you explode, it's not instant.
