That Fixed it. I equipped him with a melee weapon, reapplied my class buffs, and he started healing again. a 14k heal to boot! Thanks for the suggestion!

I posted yesterday that I was disappointed that I could not get my companion to heal and that I could not play the character I wanted to. I still cannot get my favorite companion to heal me to save, Literally, my character's life, but I am enjoying playing a healing spec Operative and found where to get Ensign Raina Temple's customization to make her look good (I chose No. 4) and enjoy her as a companion. I played the Illum quest line and had a good time with Temple. She is a bit officious, but i can play how I normally play without her hating my choices. So. I am going to continue playing and am enjoying myself. Not what I thought I wanted to do but a silver lining is a silver lining.

That actually might be the problem. I don’t know if he has a weapon equipped or not. But I’m posting a new post saying that I am enjoying playing a healer. So, win-win

They are all selected and active. LoL. I shouldn’t feel too bad, he will not heal himself either. I hate not having Vector after all I went through with him. And I spent so much on cosmetic “enhancements” with Operative. She was smoking hot! Who has the Jedi companion? I liked her as well ... God. If she doesn’t work I’ll quit right now. Ugh. It’s the Sith Juggernaut with Jaesa Willsaam. Not sure I’m ready to re-learn how to play a melee character.

Yes he is set to heal. I did get him to heal me if I targeted my self and used his only Non-grayed-out “progressive koto scan. Again. That was after combat was over and he was next to me. I switched him to “Tank”. Then after combat switched him to heal. Nothing. Had him in heal during fight. Nothing. Had him in DPS and switched him to heal. Nothing. This was after I had said in my “snarky” post all the things I did first. Logging out, switching characters, switching companions. Did another “try.” He is set to heal ... goes in with his fist blazing. We are both half dead. He will not heal either of us. Clocked out and he still does not heal.

The companion is Vector Hyllus. He is standing right next to me. Combat is over. I’m half Hp. He will not heal me. Didn’t heal me once during combat. Sigh .... he is the only companion I let romance me out of all the characters. I did whole initial story line with every class, too. What can I say? I love me some bugs!

Ok. That was a bit rude. I’m just frustrated. Maybe I missed something. I’ll check out if he is in “active” mode, whatever that is. All my other companions heal ... except the one I enjoy as a companion. Now my companion will hate my choices. I play a 100% light side Op. Not on purpose, that is just how it turns out. Sorry for the over the top response. Edit: when I posted my reply, there was only the initial response. I do not post much and should have figured out how to quote him. It was meant for the first reply to my comment.

Oh man ... why didn’t I think of that. Maybe cuz his faction is HIGHER than the companion that WILL HEAL. I googled this and apparently, this is an issue going back years. Not sure how many times I set his role to heal; logged out; logged into a differently character and back in again; switched companions; put him in passive mode. You think I just threw up my hands and came on the forums to complain? Oh and I’m a Founder who (used to) love the game and try to get my friends to give the game another try. Give me some credit.

Just returned after year away. Companion (Vector) WILL NOT HEAL! Wanted to play my Operative. Loved story. Now I’m forced to use companion I hate and be DPS or be a Medicine Op. Maybe I’ll try playing my Sith Sorcerer. Not sure I will stay when sub expires. Too bad.

Suggestion. Don't allow a person to accept a reward that they are not capable of receiving. If A person cannot receive a Commendation then that reward should be greyed out or a warning should come up. I don't know how many Commendations I did not receive because I was over my limit because of the expansion. I also lost Commendations because I tried to refund an item while I was over the limit. There should have been a warning or something.
