  1. You said it yourself. Marauders with actual skill top damage charts. Those without fail miserably. If you're not skilled, this is not the class for you. Don't demand the class be dumbed down so it can play itself... just go play an Arsenal Mercenary if you want easy derp DPS.
  2. I use 37/4/0 Annihilation.
  3. 2 free medals for clicking an item once. It's not even an exploit because it's legitimately a better way to heal when you're out of combat. Why would I sit there and keep fiddling with my out of combat health regeneration when a DOT is on me and an enemy is closing in, when I have only a small window to heal up before the next fight? Of course I'm going to use it. Regardless, most of the heals are from Annihilation. If I wanted to just exploit healing I could sit back and do it all round... but it's obvious when you get 300k+ damage, you're not wasting time sitting around exploiting healing. That's mostly from Berserk. Nub.
  4. Dude if it gets me medals, I'm doing it. lol. As far as the 75k healing medal, I actually have no idea and have been wondering it myself... but I suspect it comes down to a Bioware faill. They didn't put combat logs in the game for a reason... I'm pretty sure there are miscalculations galore. I've had games where I don't get the 2.5k damage single-hit medal even though I'm regularly hitting for 3.5-4k easy... so nothing really surprises me anymore.
  5. Also, the Mercenary doesn't have nearly the amount of tools we have at our disposal. Mercenary doesn't even have an interrupt. We have one that can be as short as 6 seconds, and is no more than 8 seconds without talents. You can spec to have your Rupture, which pretty much has 100% up-time when specced right, applies a slow, in addition to the fact that our other slow has no cooldown. We have no hard CC but we can indirectly CC people in some pretty amazing ways. We are the only class that has a debuff to healing, which alone makes us amazing. We are the only class that brings party buffs to the table, and all 3 of them are quite amazing. The reason why nobody calls us OP is because the great Marauders are few and far between due to the fact that it's the most difficult class to play, by Bioware's own admission. If you are comparing the Marauder to the Mercenary, which is the EASIEST class in the game, then the problem is obviously you, not the class.
  6. You're clueless then. Marauder takes the most skill out of any class in this game, but it's hands down the best 1v1 class in the game and it's amazing for groups as well. Here's a pro tip though... if you're using any less than 20 skills in your average fight, then you're doing it wrong. http://i.imgur.com/zz4CZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/m9JzS.jpg These are what your average games as a Marauder should look like....
  7. Guild Wars 2 is going to be massive world PvP featuring 3 different factions, which balances things dramatically. There will be no such Republic/Empire imbalance. Don't lump the PvP in this game in with all MMOs... Ilum was simply a poor decision on the developer's part, plain and simple. Furthermore, they are the ones who are at fault for the faction imbalance. What makes everything worse is that they are telling players that Ilum is working as intended. Really? Ilum is working as intended? So the developer intended for players to just circle around the middle of the map and farm crates until they get their daily/weekly done, then move on to something else? That's not very smart. Aion had far better open world PvP than this game. Warhammer had far better PvP than this game both instanced AND open world. If games of the PAST could at least do a decent job at it, you would think a project that cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and years to complete, could maybe have done at least enough to put it on par with those games.... But apparently that's asking too much. I try to avoid all the over-hype, but I'm 100% certain the PvP in Guild Wars 2 is going to blow this out of the water.
  8. I used to be one of the guys that would defend this game to the death when people say stuff like this... but the OP is right. End-game PvP is a total joke, and all BW can say about it is "Ilum is working as intended." If this is how they actually intended end-game PvP to be... then I'm not wasting any more of my money either. Money talks. When they lose enough subs, maybe they'll pull their heads out of their asses. Until then, no dice.
  9. My Marauder (which for some reason people think is the weakest PvP class) breaks through a Sorc's shield, which has a 20 second lockout, in 1 shot. How is that better than heavy armor again?
  10. Well, as an update... I started this thread when I had absolutely no pieces. I'm now wearing full Columi. Basically I saw nothing but BH drops with the occasional IA drop, and then suddenly over the course of 2 days I got pretty much all my gear. The only thing I struggled to get after that point was the pants. I literally went 4/5 Columi over a period of 2 days, after trying to grind it out for a week solid with no luck whatsoever. Regardless, it sucks... but at least I'm past that... for now.
  11. It's a deal as long as I can own slaves as a Sith Warrior in Guild Wars 2 instead =P
  12. I have come up with a way that Bioware could implement player bounties into the game that would actually make a lot of people happy. Now, we all know that Bioware has dropped the ball on Star Wars pretty hard... but they could possibly rectify this with the successful implementation of player bounties. Here's how: Make it so that the player bounties are given out in Star Wars, but you have to go play Guild Wars 2 and kill specific players in THAT game to collect. That way, we don't have to actually PLAY Star Wars, which is better for everyone. Thoughts?
  13. I agree, people complain a lot. Too much, really... but at the same time, we are paying customers and we do expect that our money should be well spent. When there are glaring bugs, imbalances, exploits, etc. in the game, we have a right to voice our concerns. If you're not ok with that, that's one thing... but if Bioware doesn't listen, that's another issue entirely.
