  1. I thought it was intentional, just the way the warriors' and knights' coats/capes look. Robes is how I would describe what consulars and inquisitors wear, these guys have more of a cape/coat hybrid going on. I don't think it looks bad.
  2. As a sith inquisitor, when I did that Ashara-related quest on Taris where you collect the datacron-like thingies, I absolutely loved how the remixed samples of Across the Stars kicked in seamlessly a couple of times when the records played. It was great. And a lot of my excitement was due to the fact that we get so little of that in this game! Let's have more of it BW, it works great and really adds to the cinematic value of the game.
  3. I think SWTOR will survive the release of GW2 just fine. It looks to me like SWTOR will be the more refined and complex but well tuned and perfected experience, whereas GW2 will be flashy and fast, but more hectic and less less memorable. But who knows, ArenaNet has been claiming to try to make the best MMO to date, so I like everyone esle am gonna give their game a try and then stick with the winner. But even though I've been following GW2 pretty closely, I still believe that SWTOR is where I will be. The force is strong with this one.
  4. That's old news, everyone gets mad numbers as level 10-12 due to bolster. I'va gotten THE top of the DPS with a 10-12 Mercenary and I'm fairly sure most classes can pull that off.
  5. Assassin in SWTOR in first and foremost INQUISITOR, which Maul wasn't. That's what in this game defines your style of clothes and story and combat. Maul was just a warrior, all you have in common with him is the weapon. Stop saying that the class was modelled after him when clearly it wasn't - you are playing it after all and should be able to tell. Who knows why one dev said that at some point? Maybe having the same weapon and Tumult is what he meant, but that's that. INQUISITOR's style is based on characters like Sidious, with defining features such as robes, heavy use of force, and scheming, as opposed to saber-intensive cape and breath-mask wearing warriors based off Vader. Maul was nothing like the inquisitor, but a lot more like a warrior with a saberstaff. Assassin in this game is the more a melee-intensive version of Sidious with a saberstaff, and NOT a lightning-shooting Darth Maul. There is the difference. Whether that was a good idea of BW is a different topic.
  6. To all whiners: some armor sets you're gonna like, some you're not. If you consistently don't like them then your expectation is obviously different from the conception of the designers, which means you are playing the wrong game and maybe WoW is a better fit, or maybe not. But either way you are obviously not the target audience with their work if you consistently dislike the armor designs. If its just one tier that you don't like then see above - can't please everyone with every single set. Better luck next time. I personally don't think they're great, but I don't think they're horrible. The champion-BM tier was actually pretty good for assassins in my opinion, and some people complained a lot about them as well, which makes me think that those people have their own fixed expectation and think that the designers owe it to them to follow that expectation and not be creative. I'd rather have creative designs that some times don't work as nicely as others, rather than a never changing "safe" style that nobody will qq about.
  7. I am sitting on 56 DNA Sample that I didn't get a chance to spend. Not a huge deal, but kind of a bummer still. It was'nt clear to me that the vendor wasn't going to stay for some time after the end of the outbreak (hey maybe if the devs didn't try to be funny and talk about the end of the event as "the end of the outbreak" then it would've made more sense). Well, not the first time it happens. Same happened to me with the geologist vendor - missed the announcement, world of regret now. BW loves doing that.
  8. Depends purely on how much time I have. The experience is more complete with the dialogues and voice acting, and knowing the background story for the quests you're doing, but before I finished my final exams the other day, I had to skip a lot of them just because they took a lot of time and I wouldn't have advanced in the game in the limited time I had. Now I watch all of them and never get bored. People who slam space bar through them are playing the wrong game.
  9. I'm totally for it. it only logical to use mirror class for the change, and clear all affection with companions. Works fine, everyone happy. Don't like it --> don't do it, the service is for those who want to swap factions (if that's not obvious). I just can't understand the weird arguments about how that doesn't make sense storywise, how it would be hard to implement etc. I just don't get it. Pay --> swap --> done. Faction balance slightly improved.
  10. I used Andronikos ever since I got him in Darkness spec. Then Ahsara when got her. In any other spec I'd assume you won't survive without Khem tanking, until you get Talos to heal you.
  11. I kinda like that she is whore-proof tbh, but I guess if she was able to wear bikinis I could learn to like that too
  12. I think early to mid-summer is when 1.3 will hit. Perhaps towards the end of June. I hope they are working on including paid services like appearance re-customization and factions changes as a feature of 1.3.
  13. I love that now I can abandon all old quests properly. That bug was annoying as hell. Not happy about the removal of the geologist vendor though.
  14. see my post above. its not because they don't care about details or because they're blind - its so that they can add those later so that there is constant influx of new popular crystals going on. right now its black-purple and black orange, one day it will be sleek orange, sleek yellow & sleek green.
