  1. Apparently since the bugs introduced in a patch a week and a half ago blaster damage has been heavily reduced, especially if you're using the Blast Condenser. Read about it here. I wouldn't expect a patch very soon since they'll likely wait until 2.4 is released rather than hotfixing it, they've done this previously with space combat issues. And since Kanz/Cov is the mission with the highest dps requirement to complete, it's extremely difficult to beat. I nearly beat it once (the satellite reached the mini-explosions phase), so I'm guessing with a near perfect run using the 10 shot/second beam generator, grade 7 laser cannon, the grade 7 missiles, and all other grade 6 gear that increases blast damage then it might be doable, but effectively it's going to be impossible for most players currently. And certainly not worth the effort.
  2. After "testing" a bunch tonight, due to Ardis/Kabal being one of the higher dps requiring missions, here are what I believe to be the problems. Blast Condenser does not work, when I left the game previously it would work on some ships but not on others, now it does not work on any ship AT ALL. Specifically the +100 damage buff does not appear to work. Power converters do not seem to be working properly now. They still give the shield buff/debuff as normal, but the damage buff is significantly reduced or the damage debuff is significantly reduced. Fighters, and possibly all targets, take more blaster shots to die, missiles and torpedoes seem unaffected. This is likely tied to the Power Converter issue, but I can't be sure as neither of them work like they used to. I am certain it takes more blaster shots for fighters as I had tested previously with the exact same ship gear (no Blast Condenser) on the Ascendancy Barrier map, and at that time 4 shots (2 clicks) would always kill a fighter, while the power converter was set to buff blaster damage. Now it takes 5 shots (3 clicks) with the power converter set to buff damage and 6 shots (3 clicks) with the converter set to buff shield regen. The only real workaround is to use a different beam generator than the Blast Condenser, preferably the Rendili beam generator (10 shots/sec) or the Grade 5 beam generator (9 shots/sec). You will still do noticeably lower damage, but significantly more than if you use the Blast Condenser.
  3. Actually no, it isn't. When the +100 damage buff is working that either doubles, or nearly doubles the per blast damage, depending on what other parts the character is using. 6 * 2x = 12x vs. 10 * x = 10x So it's a 20% damage increase. Now it's not best in every situation, for instance in the Ascendancy Barrier minefield 10 shots/second is much more helpful for blasting mines than 6/sec. But for the most part, more damage = better. Of course all that is moot, as it doesn't work currently.
  4. The part is no longer working properly on ANY ships as far as I can tell, at least not even the ones that it worked on previously. (and I'm going back about 7-8 months here so it may have been fixed on those ships at some point, but is now once again broken) If you can use the grade 6 part, Rendali...something or other, it fires 10 shots/second. Or the grade 5 part which fires...8 I believe? Either way better than the 6/sec the blast condenser does, at least when the +100 damage buff the part SHOULD be giving isn't working. I tested it to be sure via the same method I used previously to identify it was broken. Load up Ascendancy barrier, shoot the fighters the minimum number of times necessary to blow them up, then switch parts. It takes 6 shots (3 clicks) now regardless of whether I use the blast condenser or the other parts. This means that you will do 66% more damage using the grade 6 part over using the Blast Condenser.
  5. Ah ok, that's what I found in the forums too, wasn't sure if it was what you meant. So done, and done, thanks. And yeah, changing that setting did force another complete re-download. But I was only 30% through when I did it, so not so much lost. If Bioware is smart they'll find a way to allow users to disable bit raider in the actual launcher options, and do so without requiring the full re-download. Because this issue, or something similar, is almost guaranteed to happen again.
  6. For those of you who don't know, or haven't guessed yet. Yes, it's re-downloading the entire game apparently. How exactly do you revert to the old launcher? Cause as crappy as it was, it never forced me to have to re-download the client.
  7. I'd recommend checking your server's gtn to see what racial unlocks are available. The popular ones (twilek, miraluka, chiss, and sith) can still get up to around 1 million each when there's no competition. Also what that person above me said, money is a non-issue in this game if you're willing to play rather spartanly. Using just the credits earned from playing, slicing nodes, selling gathered materials you can easily afford all of your abilities when earned, including speeders. And using planet commendations you can generally stay pretty close to being equipped in equal level blue mod gear. But most importantly, stay away from crafting while leveling, giant time and money sink.
  8. For god's sake. Don't want to do the missions more than once a week? Hold on to the missions until you have all three, problem solved. Sheesh. And no, they don't get removed if you don't do them in 24 hours. No idea where you got that from.

Bug fixes are actually getting worse with more bugs being created by attempted fixes Customer service is now practically non-existant with the lack of CSRs and ridiculous rules preventing them from helping in many cases Number of new and much more interesting MMOs are on the horizon So long, and good luck.
  10. The bug I am talking about is the ship part, "Blast Condenser" not working for all characters. For some it adds the +100 ship damage, as described. For others it does bupkiss, to be exact it's actually causing the characters equipping it to do 40% LESS damage than they would with the grade 6 beam generator. As for how to help get them to actually acknowledge this bug and/or fix it, it's simple. Just take any character with the blast condenser and the grade 6 or 7 beam charger (Sienar Systems Beam Charger or Laser Cannons) currently equipped into the Ascendency Barrier/Impossible Sector mission, put your power converter on increased damage, push 1, then get past that first clump of mines and fire on the fighters that come by. Do a single, quick tap on your left mouse button to fire at them, this will fire EXACTLY 2 shots. If just those 2 shots kill a fighter, congratulations the blast condenser works for your character, and your work here is done. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong, a troll, and how incredibly great the QA is in this game. If those 2 shots DON'T kill a fighter, well, you're screwed unless you kept the grade 6 part, which is only available from completing a non-repeatable mission. The good news is that now you have a really good excuse if you were having trouble with those new missions AND you have a legitimate reason to help me get them to fix this damned bug, which has been in since the part was added in 1.6 and even though I've repeatedly reported it since then, never added to the known issues. Do so by bug reporting it, in the game, in the cs forum. Thanks!

Healer 1: Sorc, cheesebubble spec Healer 2: Op, energy spec (med/leth hybrid) Tank: Sin, high endo dps gear w/shield Dps 1: Mara, carnage spec for faster pred Dps 2: Mara, anni spec for free group heals Dps 3: Jug, smash spec mainly for taunts/intercede Dps 4: PT, pyro spec Dps 5: whatever, preferrably something with taunt or another mara You almost can't have too many maras because even if they're not the best dps to have in every situation, they're still competitive and bloodthirst having more uptime, not to mention the other two group effects, more than makes up for any deficiencies.
  12. You can still get more than 4000 results, 500 pages. I'm looking at 988 pages right now, "ent" in the search field in case you're wondering. Your search engine is overly complex. Who is going to search for "morin ski arm" or "ing ing ing"? Or I should say, who is going to search for that and seriously expect to get a listing of all skill armorings? Cause those ACTUALLY work in your search engine. If you use a simple algorithm where subsequent substrings step through the searched string instead of each being recursive, which is all that is expected here anyway, then even 1 character substrings for search criteria shouldn't be an issue.

So the Borg go to Middle-Earth, assimilate ring technology, create invisible ringwraith borg to speed along the assimilation of the Deathstar, create hundreds of transwarp Deathstars and eliminate all of the core, rim, and outrim worlds as well as the alpha quadrant. Thereby saving us all from a future with more Abrams' Star Wars and Star Trek movies. That or we send a t-800 from the future to get him....either way.
  14. Oh I realize there are much worse, but Disney isn't stupid enough to give a project like this to Uwe Boll or Paul W. S Anderson. They're just blindly jumping on the Abrams bandwagon. I mean, hey I enjoyed Alias, early Fringe, and early Lost. I can even enjoy Star Trek when I can get my brain to shut off. But frankly he's only a step above Michael Bay. I get it, they see how he "revitalized" the Star Trek franchise and hope he can do the same here. But in my opinion Abrams has KILLED the Star Trek franchise, from now forward we're likely to get nothing but schlocky action movies/series there. And now it seems likely Star Wars will be the same.
  15. Come on, this guy is about the worst possible choice for Star Wars. The last three were bad because they focused too much on action and politics, and too little on story. That's EXACTLY the kind of movies this guy does best, they might as well just name the next movie The Phantom Menace Returns. Alternatively they could name it The Lens Flare Strikes Back. Gah....damn you Disney execs....
