  1. With the server merges and the horrible changes in 2.0, it's time for me to quit the game. It had been a wonderful and enjoyable 15 month, and it was an honour to be the GM of a.f.k trainer. I would like to thank all the people I played with for good time we had, and I hope everyone the best in future, whether they are continuing with 2.0 or not. To those wondering, I have left all my credit with the new guild master (23 mil, which should be enough for a lot of repairs). I would specially like to thank Reverence (my rep guild) for allowing me to raid with them for the past few weeks. Healing over 1 million HP on HM EC, yet still having people dying left and right made me realize I'm never meant to be a sage healer. I'm really glad I never have to heal that group ever again :-P For the Empire!! Deflation | Ronin | Deficit | Wuss | Defraud
  2. In the real world, you'll discover that big companies don't have a lot of 'common sense', which is why a lot of them pay insane amount of money for worthless companies (HP is a good example). Closing down operations which is making money is more common than you think.
  3. Server hosting cost is not an issue. Now that Amazon Cloud has oepned in Sydney, the cost of hosting a virtual server per hour cost less than a cup of coffee. We are talking about sites with lots of bandwidth and lots of CPU usage. Licensing cost could be an issue though, you never know how much LucasArt charges for the APAC zone. I believe the server population in APAC is small enough that EA simply doesn't care if we're all gone.
  4. The reason is 2 second Series of Shot with FollowThrough.
  5. For me, SWTOR is not worth playing with 200ms ping. Other games with better netcode can get away with it, but not SWTOR. My subscription runs out in August, I will not resub.
  6. I have played the game since launch, so I started at Harbinger. The playing experience with 20ms is a lot better than 220ms, and I will not go back. Unless the decision to close down the APAC server is reversed, I will not be playing anymore.
  7. They reduced the energy cost of Corrosive Dart in 2.0, but also nerfed the damage. Assuming you're going by a 13.5 second rotation, you are better off not using it.
  8. Yes, you must use a shield for them to work.
  9. Bioware's definition of 'increase' is : http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=611078 < 1% critical from main stat About 1% when you have over 700 critical. Why do they even bother???
  10. You don't have to panic : crafting in 2.0 will be limited to augments and augment slots. That is it. The exotic material drop has been vastly reduced (only 2 drops from the Frog boss in HM TFB, compared to 8 on live), and it cannot be used to make BiS stuff. It also takes 4 to craft anything, and I cannot imagine someone paying 10 mil for something that drops off SM TFB/SnV, even though that is how much the material will cost. (at least 2 mil each). There is a huge misunderstanding of how the game economy works. MMT (Modern Monetary Theory) does not apply because we don't have banks, so the impact from increase in credit is not great. Supply and Demand only works on a micro-level, it does not work on a macro level. SWTOR, like most other MMO, have a market driven by how much the buyer can afford to pay. Sellers will withhold supply if the prices are too low, and it's not uncommon for crafters to have 3-4 stacks of molecular stablizers. Currently in 1.7, it works well since most players can make money by 'producing' molecular stablizers (via RE or drop), they will then either sell them to a crafter, or ask a crafter to make an item for them (plus tips). We have an economy where most players are either producing and/or consuming molecular stablizers. Molecular stablizer, not credit, is the real currency of SWTOR. In 2.0, the new Exotic Element Equazlier cannot be obtained by RE, and the drop rate is a lot lower than before. Furthermore, it cannot be used to created BiS items, only the Arkanian gear. Unlike molecular stablizers, Exotic Element Equalizer will not be a 'currency'. The critical purple component from lvl 9 slicing will take its place for a month or two. Once everyone get all 14 augment slots in purple, crafters will have nothing to do.
  11. Not having any upgrade from lvl 51-54 is a poor design decision, especially given your stats will actually go down every level from 50+. My Sniper has almost 40% critical chance at lvl 50. In the same gear, at level 55, he has 21%.
  12. Just in the latest patch : REing items will no longer yield the anything useful. Bioware have no idea how badly it'll hurt the economy..
  13. About 1400-1600, depending on how optimized your gear is.
  14. It gives you an extra tick of damage at full damage. So suppose your Orbital Strike/Flyby does 2k damage for 6k total, with the 2set pvp, that will be 8K (4x 2k), not 4x 1.5k.
  15. Lethality's rotation is based on 2 principle: 2 Full Poison on target at all time. Cull every 9 seconds. So your rotation will be CG -> CD -> WB -> Cull ->Ambush -> SoS -> Cull -> X , where X is a filler (Rapid shot or Shatter Shot). When you're starting out, forget about Orbital strike, and concentrate on the above rotation instead.
