  1. Im a sage healer. Im having trouble kiting scoundrels around on ranked PVP. Any tips?
  2. Healing on the sage after level 26 becomes easier since you get your best heal. From leveling to end game: Healing Trance. Always remember to use a rejuvenate + healing trance to buff it up.
  3. I do not understand this entire thread. Kolto Waves costs 28 energy not all upfront instead on a channel of 3 seconds (2 GCDs) and heals up to 8 people for a minimum of 4982 each. Every tick has a 30% to grant upper hand and has 10% extra crit chance. Underworld Medicine/Kolto Injection costs 20 energy and at the end of a 2 second cast heals for a minimum of 4620-5201. Grants 1 Upper Hand and has 20% extra healing bonus (surge). Healing 2 people Using Kolto Waves Cost: 28 energy Time: 3 seconds Total Healing: 9964-16928 (Assuming 70% Surge) HPS: 3321-5643 Using UM/KI Cost: 40 energy Time: 4 seconds Total Healing: 9240-19760 (Assuming 70% Surge) HPS: 2310-4940 Healing 3 people Using Kolto Waves Cost: 28 energy Time: 3 seconds Total Healing: 14946-25408 (Assuming 70% Surge) HPS: 4982-8469 Using UM/KI Cost: 60 energy Time: 6 seconds Total Healing: 13860-29640 (Assuming 70% Surge) HPS: 2310-4940 Even when healing only 2 people Kolto Waves has better HPS and HPE than Underwold Medicine/Kolto Injection. Additionally Kolto Waves can be used similar to Kolto Cloud/Kolto Missile since it is channeled and you can break the channel after only doing 2 ticks total cost would be only 14 energy making it a medium AOE heal with low cost.
  4. The spikes on your healing sound like Kolto Probe. If everyone in your your group has Kolto Probe and there is raid wide damage all off the will go off at the same time. I have had spikes of up to 36k (16man raid). As for your low moments, that does sound real low 2K HPS. What is your rotation like, do you have any parses you can link?
  5. Dummy your life has been cut short. How many attacks have you not endured; slashed, shot, stabbed, stoned, electrocuted, exploded, bombarded, countless methods created for your destruction. Thanks to your sacrifice many improve their DPS.
  6. 1. It is better to respec at the moment you can get Foresight. After that your next goal is Rejuvenate with Conveyance (this will highly reduce force cost of heals) and will also teach you more of your rotation/priority heals than the extra force from TK tree will. The next goal on the skill tree will be healing trance, your bread and butter for healing on a sage (remember use on CD after a Rejuvenate. After getting Resplandecence, Force Warden and Amnesty, I would personally delay getting Salvation in exchange of extra force and heals cost reduction. This is because unless you are healing an operation, Salvation is of very force inefficient when healing less than 3 people for its duration (most FPs and WZs). 2. I leveled as a DPS on my sage, but I did lvl my scoundrel as a healer. in the scoundrel I ran with a DPS companion to be done with fights quick. 3. To help on DPS it's best to learn to add a Weaken Mind, and Mind Crush on CD. For finishing attacks a Project or Telekinetic Throw usually does the trick. As for saber abilities you can happily remove them of all your toolbars, because after Tython you will never use them again.
  7. Cross server? No it would not solve it. Want short ques. Learn to tank, learn to heal, or become a top DPS (among top 50 in DPS charts). I own 2 Heals and 2 Tanks. I que with my brother (awesome DPS) as much as possible. Don't like to que alone as much. If the healer forgets to heal me guess who pays the repair bill, the DPS aggro a second mob I have to tank and get killed/revived guess who pays repair bill. As for tanks being less readily available than healers, not always true. Today I had an insta pop on my healer (after not getting 1 on my tank) to find out the tank I got grouped with waited 40 mins. More credits for tank and heals would entice me to que more alone? Yes.
  8. I agree if PVE question is for tanks, then wildcard should be the lackluster DPS. Phase Walk is a minor ability issue, but a DPS who doesn't DPS is a more pressing matter.
  9. Most important thing to upgrade. Even thou its a stat stick. It's not the WP or End, but the Force Power it provides. When I change mine from 69 to 72 it increased my heals by about 3% (rough estimate), still the single largest difference of any mod. As for buying, I would personally have it crafted, generally less expensive, this is just personal choice.
  10. I got a Sage(Heals), Shadow(Tank), Smuggler(Heals), and Guardian(Tank). The sage is main, I'm a little more casual than most who have posted here before me. I have not done any HM ops, nor do I PVP on Ranked Warzones. I have 2 man EC Zorn an Toth SM, tried my Hand at 2 man KP HM. This may not be the usual places to see a Sage, but they show the limits of it. Have not been able to get past KP HM 1st boss bcz I'm dead with just 1 swipe. Similar situation to NiM sages/sorcs do on Kephess/Titan. 1st This goes to show my 1st concern and question. We are a light armor class with no real def CD. We can easily be one shot by several attacks in this game, where every other class would just end up in the low life area. FB does not work since as PVP guys put it "It's also a great 10s self stun". Can we get some more armor and a rework of FB, maybe a 3-5s of 99% immunity while still being able to do something, with a CD of 60-90s. 2nd Madness/Balance force regen is terrible. Im not a DPS person, but I have given it a try with both skill trees. Lightning/Telekinetics is ez and has none of this problems. While on the other side it is extremely ez to get into a negative force regen rotation for madness/balance. Could you guys improve the force regen of Madness/Balance?
  11. I have healed with rly well and badly geared ppl. I can remember an s&v 16 where there were 2 scoundrel heals and another sage with me. One scoundrel was definitely more geared than the other, but the lowest geared was better at placing them and not over healing. Healing numbers were different, but so were their effective heals. You will only see high numbers for a healer when everything is going badly, and you have to help the group get thru the rough spots.
  12. I won't deny, I do have crit in my gear, it helps me to force regen when I can. But not derailing into a crit vs power/surge vs alacrity discussion, the guide is just a guide. Healers don't have a set optimal rotation like DPS, but more on what is needed and gear is the same, in time you will know what works best for your healing style, and healing role (group or tank or mixed) healer.
  13. Casual semi-hardcore player here. I run with my guild or pugs just for fun, I don't use GF for ops, it does not work as intended. Many general chat groups will be patient to explain fights if you let them know ahead of time you don't know them. Get into a casual guild, there is plenty of them.
  14. When 2.0 came out most of the experienced players (myself included) jumped into them with our min/max 63/61 gear. Maybe 1 or 2 66pcs. Now what makes for the best heals is not gear, but knowledge of the battles and mechanics of the game. Read the following guides, they will help you to become a better player. I added a tanking guide among them since healers spend most of their heals and time on them, understanding what they are doing helps. It's the tanking guide for guardians, since they are the most common tank class. BTW I'm mostly 72 now and I run with a hybrid DPS/Heals Spec, where I DPS half the time, for a faster run. Would not advise this spec in a couple of the bonus fights or when tank is under or poorly geared, or has no idea what he is doing (Severe tank problems are rare).
