  1. Jeez, I can't believe it...they finally fixed it. The serial number and activation code in my account was finally different than the the original one I had, so I was able to put back on the mobile security key. Why didn't BioWare announce that they fixed this?!?!? -HM
  2. The app itself is fine. The problem is that it shouldn't involve going through 300 hoops to remove it, then add it again. Other developers provide methods to do this; BioWare should too. -HM
  3. Of course that's what he advised...because once you have the mobile key removed, it's impossible to add it again. What ELSE can they suggest? -HM
  4. I've been waiting since December for them to fix this, when I had to have the key removed due to a problem with my phone. It got fixed the next day, and that's when I learned the hard way it couldn't be put back on. Took another couple of weeks for BioWare to acknowledge the problem, claiming they were working on a fix. March approachth, and still no fix for a feature that Blizzard and many other security key companies have via the app and their web page. -HM
  5. None right now, because once you take the mobile key off, it's impossible to put it back on again. -HM
  6. You can take the key off by calling BioWare. The problem is once it's taken off, you can't put it back on. STILL waiting... -HM
  7. Once you have them remove the security key from a phone, it CANNOT be re-added, even to another phone. They're working on a fix, but that's been in the works for a month or so now, so who knows when it will be fixed. -HM
  8. It is a desktop OS. It's just not a very popular one. Which is why expecting BioWare to work on fixing the bug causing the game to not work on WINE is a bit lofty. -HM
  9. That's pretty awful if the LCD isn't working properly all the time. The mobile app is fine (if not as snazzy looking as Blizzard's), but the fact that I can't remove it myself, and now that I've had BioWare remove it, that I can't use it again, is inexcusable. I know they were under pressure to have it available at launch, but a half-hearted implementation that ends up crippling the user is really not acceptable, and they should've waited before throwing it out there if this is the result. -HM
  10. Not if you have BioWare remove the security key. And since you can't have more than one mobile key per account, you can't add a new one while the original is still connected. It's a bug. They're working on it. -HM
  11. That's correct. Currently you cannot move the mobile key, so call them, have them remove it, and with luck sometime soon you'll be able to re-add it. -HM
  12. The problem is the gamer base for Linux is just too tiny. The peak, when I was doing it around the release of Quake 3, is long gone. There are statistically many more Mac users, and even they don't have a client right now. With luck one day it'll just work (again) on WINE because someone at BioWare has some extra time, SOMETIME, and tweaks/fixes whatever causes the problem. -HM
  13. Maybe at some point one of the BioWare developers will throw the WINE folks a bone, but my guess is right now they're so overwhelmed with fixing things just so it runs well on Windows, that it won't happen too soon. -HM
  14. Yes, probably, as that seems to be the fashion these days. -HM
  15. There's no way they'll do a Linux port. Gaming in Linux is mostly dead (mostly). I was full on Linux back in the day, as was said in an earlier post, when id Software, and others (Descent 3! Tribes 2! Alpha Centauri!), were putting Linux game boxes on the shelf. It lasted for a few years, but there was basically no interest from the end user, so it died. There's zilch money to be made. Here's the article on Mac port possibility: http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/02/bioware-mac-version-of-star-wars-the-old-republic-is-something/ -HM
