  1. F2P doesn't mean what you think it does. F2P=Entirely free like ToR will be, no purchase at all. Guild Wars 2 is B2P=Buy to Play, you pay $60 up front for the game and do not have to pay monthly. B2P games like GW2 have cosmetic items for sale for additional profit and also get some return on expansions that come out more often than a P2P game typically would. I have only read a few ignorant post here, but that is enough to say go research what F2P really is. Some have had success with it, the ones that offer cosmetic items and don't sell power along with (of course) having a solid game to begin with that just had a poor launch or is a low budget game being made with a F2P model in mind even before release. To the comment about buying gold with gems in GW2...this has been a staple of online gaming since diablo 2 and even earlier probably. Companies are now realizing they can take control of a market that will always exist anyway. Look at Warhammer Online. For months they boasted about the 10's of thousands of farmers they banned with almost no success in actually reducing farming and selling gold for money. F2P is by no means the beginning of the end for a game, but looking at the failures in ToR and the lack of content with a huge development team, I really do not see the game getting better with a smaller development team and severely reduced funding. Please, go back to your ranting and flaming and continue to shun rational discussion. Or maybe, just maybe, wake up and do some research then have an intelligent discussion on the matter.
  2. I don't get the whole defending Bioware thing here. There is no reason to. You are only hurting yourself and your game by trying to convince yourself that being screwed over and lied to is fair business practice. I find it hard to believe that with the kind of budget they had for this game they couldn't even make it worth while to log on when I already paid for 6 months. Now I never will.

    Valor 70+ gear

We don't need more gear to grind, we need a motive to actually PvP. Competitive PvP does not exist and world pvp is laughable at best. The best you can do is que up with 4 people and go against another four. In that case it's based more off of who gets the people in green gear for the other four and not skill or strategy. Need ranked PvP and some actual thought going into world PvP.
  4. At least those ones actually end. I'm sick of the 5 vs 8 ones that SHOULD end then when you are 3 capped and have very little chance of coming back you get 1 more person to stop the count down.

    Civil War has issues

This is pretty standard for holding the objective based game modes. It puts the most importance on the initial fights. In a competitive setting between two premades the initial fight actually last a significant amount of the game. It is still very possible to re take a point, you just need to use more than face smashing dps to get it. Use CC, have your healers trying to cap it during the fight, focus down key targets, etc.
  6. I've managed just fine even in eyefinity having all my cooldowns in the center 2 bars and having abilities that I don't need to track keybound and on the sides. Still annoying since these bars are on the very edges of my side monitors. Too many skills is not an issue at all. If you really want to click multiple cool downs or something then it can be done with a naga. If bioware complains about this, they should rethink putting their name on the damn product. With ctl, alt, and shift as modifiers and switching your movement to esdf you shouldn't have a problem keybinding everything even with a normal mouse with 2 buttons. The real issue here is a crappy UI that is no where near up to modern MMO players standards.
  7. I'm valor rank 65, got my speeder, have my companions in mostly epics, full BM gear. Almost no reason to stay in a loss. I do stay if it is a close game or people are competent. If people are not playing for objectives or things are getting lost without incoming calls I will most certainly leave and find people who play to win and aren't completely incompetent. Wow had the same problem and deserter didn't even help. Deserter wasn't even used to stop leavers, it was implemented to stop scouting BG's for groups farming grand marshal and high warlord. It did end up being a slight deterrent though. The difference is WoW now has rated BG's and arena. They also figured out it was a bad idea to force maxed out players into normal BG's for a daily. This balances things out when most people in a BG are there to get gear.
  8. Ever see a warrior run a flag in rated BG's? I really don't see this as anything different, with jug/guard it's almost the same. There are ways to counter it. Obviously a good tank and healer coordinating will stomp a bunch of pugs who are standing on the ledge letting them leap up there. Bioware has already said that rated warzones will be put in. Things like this will be completely fine in that environment. It would be utterly stupid to ruin that by trying to balance random groups.
  9. The best way to get protection is by guarding the person with the ball, please explain how that does not help the team. Unless you know an actual exploit that gives incorrect protection numbers, I call BS.
  10. No worries we can all look forward to patch notes and maintenance where it is "fixed" then continue as normal the next day just like dropping old quest and warzone wins working.
  11. West coast and EU get screwed. It should be fairly obvious that maintenance should be on different schedules for different time zones.
  12. Nothing even comes close to a naga. You have 12 buttons on the side and 2 near left click (not all that useful honestly). If that isn't enough shift and ctrl modify them. The best peripheral you can own for MMO gaming.
  13. It needs to be tweaked. Shadow/Sin is not one that should be worrying about this though. As tank spec you should be doing plenty of damage while guarding your healers and taunting and getting 8-10 medals a game playing entirely to win with your group (this is all assuming you are using dps gear with a shield). As infiltration you can also get medals properly by taunting and using guard in key defending situations. You should consistently be hitting that 300k damage mark as well. You will get the 10k protection if you have a healer but even without you should be getting the 5k and 2k ones.
  14. Tank shadow in dps gear with a shield.
