  2. I said something that got edited. I was talking about the LOW crit, as Sages do not need. As Scoundrels, crit is far far far more important. And no, I read the whole thing. While some HoT healing is, in general, a good idea, dedicating the entire thing to HoT is not. People that say we have no burst are just HoT healing and focusing on power in my opinion.
  3. I swear to god, if I see one more person point to that **** filled Dulfy guide I'm going to freak the hell out. That guide is WHY he's having a hard time. Scoundrels absolutely do have burst healing in the UWM/EMP combo. With those two skills you can heal 7k-18k HP in 2 seconds on one person. If you break it up (which I do depending on the situation) that's 5-12k on one person and 3-6k on a second person. And that's not even counting the KC on every GCD pop! All you scoundrels working on the SRMP rotations are doing nothing for this class other than relegate it to a permanent off-healer status. SRMP on the whole raid takes some 16GCDs and then you're having to burn 8GCDs on EMP to keep the stack up. HoT Healing is only useful for SOLO DAMAGE ENCOUNTERS. Otherwise you're burning GCD when you could be healing others. Damnit I'm angry again. Do not get me started on the **** stat distribution again. You want to be a burst healers? THEN ACT LIKE IT. Stop with this **** for crit bullcrap. We're not sages, so stop taking advise from sages that rerolled for FOTM!!!
  4. You don't understand it because you did not notice the change to K.O. It's gone from a STUN to a ROOT. In other words, you've just killed the Scoundrel class as a viable PvP DPS. I really do not understand people that complain about Scoundrels/Ops. WE ARE BUILT TO KILL ONE PERSON ONLY. What do you people not understand!? Stop going all Solo in PvP! All you need to do it root or knockback and we're FREE KILLS. The change to screen with do nothing to help with our already lacking defenses.
  5. Our Energy Regen is now way off the charts incredible. I sat for 10 minutes trying to dip below 75% using an UWM+EMP rotation and it just would not drop! Pop'd Pugnancy whenever it was up and my UWM cast went below the pre-2.0 1.82 sec regen drop-off for UWM and still no go. Energy Management doesn't appear to be an issue at ALL. I really need to test a new rotation using Pugnancy, SRMP, and Kolto Pack all together. With SRMP+KP+KC, that's a ton of HoTs going on. so exciting!

  7. Well, since your going to fix sounds, please please please bring back the Scoundrel Giggle. The current sound for Upper Hand is the same sound as Harpoon. When in an operation, it's impossible to tell that sound from the ambient noise of combat. The whole reason you had the giggle in the first place was to have an easily identifiable sound for our proc. Yes, you said you were concerned with noise saturation, but we all know this is a lie. Female Troopers scream bloody murder all day. Gunslingers scream all day long. Bounty Hunters laugh a ton. Sawbones Scoundrels? We sit in the back all raid being all emo and quiet as a church mouse. The whole story of the Smuggler is one of a smart *** and you turn around and silence him from being a smart ***? I don't understand.
  8. I just can not understand this whole debate. I'm married and work 40+ hours a day, come home, eat, do housework, and still log in for a few hours to bang out content. My guild has several couples as well, with children, that do the same. You just need to find a guild that works to your playtimes really. Most tier 1 hard modes take under an hour to finish. Seriously, if you don't have ONE HOUR to play an MMO, then I'm gonna have to agree with others that MMOs are not for you.
  9. Do you have ANY idea on the number of people that would flee this game faster than being chased by a tornado? Microtransactions are the invention of a madman hell-bent on making money hand over fist, consequences be damned. Say NO to Microtransactions. It's the only way to remain sane.
  10. Trust me when I tell you this. Black Hole Mender suit has less overall Alacrity and better stats than Rakata. if you go fully BH (Since our bonus's suck anyway), Your gonna be much better off. You can even skip the BH implants in favor of the Rakata for crit/surge sake. EDIT: Forgot to add. The extra tonage of endurance in the mender set is freakin sweet. Over 23k HP means that, unless something is beating on me for a while, I cant die in an Ops with all the Area -wide AoE's that Bioware seems to enjoy lately.
  11. But that's just the thing. SRMP cost 15 energy per cast. In order to have an effective heal you need to double stack for a cost of 30 energy. This will cause two cycles of the GCD. Then it's about 1 more second for the SRMP to begin ticking. While acceptable at the start of a boss fight, 3 seconds with very little healing on a tank is not acceptable at all. It's much more efficient to use the UWM+EMP cycles once the tank begins to take damage. Anyone else taking damage should be able to get by with the EMP part of the cycle. In other words, UWM the tank then EMP the DPS. This will cause, for me at least, a 6k crit on the tank and a 3k crit on DPS. More than enough to maintain them if the cycle is repeated. By using this cycle exclusively, your able to heal for extremely long periods of time with very little energy management issues. I would suggest you try it before you knock it. I used to think like you do, but then I did some research and play-testing to discover this method was far superior.

  13. Wanted to also jump on a point made here. Surge being over 390 isn't necessarily a bad thing per say, sure you can trade it out for more Power/crit, but it isn't nearly as crippling as Alacrity. For instance, currently I'm sitting at 39% crit with 72% Surge. My UWM is at 1.8s casting which is a little over 9% for alacrity. Using UWM+EMP when UH is at 2 stacks can cause a double crit that heals for ~9.5k in the span of about 2 seconds. Our stat progression has be indicated before and that is Cunning>Surge>Crit>Pow>put anything else here> Alacrity. You should never be afraid to blow CH when you hit below 25% energy and, when things get REALLY dicey, if you spec for pure sawbones, you get the handy ability to cast EMP and get regifted an UH when your target is low on HP, causing you to continually heal someone till they are not in real danger anymore. You should now be at near full energy to continue your UWM+EMP rotations with little complications.
  14. I tend to find that people are putting entirely too much stock into SRMP and not enough into proper rotations. Effectively, a Scoundrel can heal forever using UWM+EMP rotations. In Ops, whether NM or HM, I very rarely SRMP anyone during a boss fight. I will only get a 2 stack on the tank before the boss is engaged to get UH to pop Pug. After that, it's UWM+EMP rotations, the 2stack should grant me the 3rd UH and at that point, I can now chain UWM+EMP and pop Pug when it fades. In prolonged fights, it is possible to double tap UWM and cause energy regen to go below 50%, at which time I will burn the rest and pop CH. In conclusion, relying on SRMP to heal a group isnt the most effective way to keep a group alive. Nether is KC.
  15. There's a post somewhere on this forums that details the exact effect Alacrity has for a Sawbones and I can tell you it is NOT a good thing. When your cast time on UWM dips below 1.79 seconds, something happens. You start casting faster than your energy regen ticks and you put yourself below 75% energy extremely quickly. Doing this causes your regen to drop to the next level, which grants less energy per second. Your goal should always be to maintain over 75% Energy when healing as this causes you to be able to UWM+EMP damn near forever.
