  1. Easily the worst SWTOR expansion, but overall they've been fairly decent-ish. This expansion though......probably the worst I've seen in my 20 years playing mmos haha. Like what even was this supposed to be, something went horribly wrong at BioWare. They aren't really known for delivering quality as of late, but goddamn.
  2. More successful games, like XIV are just used as paypig wallets for the companies other projects. It was leaked a while back that only like 30% of what the game makes goes back into it. Imagine what EA/BW are doing with Swtor. I can guarantee they have a very small budget compared to what they actually make.
  3. Definitely an NGE tier update, an absolute disaster in every aspect. Classes feel worse to play, the story was terrible, the UI is genuinely the worst I've ever seen in my 20 year history of mmos, the "HUGE STORY FIGHT" epic moment was broken with bugs, some players haven't even been able to get into game and BioWare is sitting quietly in a corner with no word on any of this watching the community burn lmao.
  4. Not necessarily that they want to ignore feedback, dev team is likely being severely mismanaged. They themselves don't really get to decide what to focus on and what not to. People should be mad at whoever manages the dev team and who that person reports to.
  5. honestly, wouldn't surprise me if its an alt of an employee.
  6. After getting multiple characters to 80, the classes are actually so bad its making me laugh. I've tested op/merc and mara/sin and they all play like absolute trash now that they've been gutted.
  7. Give it a few weeks, guaranteed those numbers will nose dive. Give it a month or two, and you'll see a record low. Numbers for mmos always sky rocket for about a month post update, and taper off after, I suspect it won't just be a tapering off for swtor however.
  8. I was a CBT player, played on and off since official game launch, and this is easily the worst update Bioware has ever pushed for this game, which is actually saying a lot because as a whole they tend to not be particularly amazing. My guilds discord is an absolute disaster right now, like half the active players in the guild I'm an officer in have already left the game. What baffles me most, is Bioware changing features of the game that nobody wanted changed or ever asked for. The UI redesign has created the worst UI I've seen playing mmos in 20 years, and now that the classes have been gutted, they play terribly. Nobody wanted these things. Then you have to get into stuff like gearing, which people complained about in PTR, and in response they made it WORSE. I don't have high expectations for Bioware, but this is a brand new low and I'm not even being hyperbolic. I believe all of this came about as a final push to kind of revitalize the game and bring players back, and I think instead they just put the final nail in the coffin. I don't think Bioware is concerned with the long term effects of this update/"expansion", I think this was one final roll of the dice on their part and they are just crossing their fingers something sticks. That is the only explanation I can think of regarding this mess.

    Pvp

This is entirely a L2P issue, pvp has been this way in MMOs since like 03. Its not a honorable duel fest, if you wander off from the pack, you have to be ready to be jumped by multiple people. But you know what? If you can handle multiple people, even for like 20 seconds of just trying to survive, you're actually doing a lot for your team even if you don't kill anyone.

  11. I have a free 65 character boost, and I rerolled onto the new server. In the process of leveling multiple characters, but want to have a main as well, so I'm boosting one. What is the state of the meta in PvP? Are mercs/commandos still absolutely ridiculous? Is sage/sorc still severely undertuned? Should I play a mara or assassin? Just looking for some up to date info, thanks.
  12. Literally some of the most blatantly incorrect information I have ever seen in this game being posted here. Stand still parses have absolutely ZERO bearing on pvp. They never have, and they never will. This is even proven by the fact that most of the top parsing specs/acs you're discussing are complete dumpster fires in pvp. The only relevant metric is your toolkit itself. Some classes have amazing dps because they are overtuned, yet they flop the moment someone looks at them. Why didn't their amazing dps save them? Because their defensivies/utilities are horrendous. If you're dead, you don't do any dps at all.
  13. Its due to legacy CM items, and also the fact that the market never recovered from the massive credit exploit a while back. Ever since then everything has been hyper inflated with no end in sight.
  14. Again, there has ALWAYS been a huge disparity between the strongest dps, and the weakest dps, even in this game. Sorc just so happens to be the new weakest, either learn to deal, or switch to a different dps.
  15. Point is there are always going to be under performing dps, in every patch in every mmo. You can still play sorc and do all the content I'm sure, but it just won't be optimal or competitive.
