  1. I'm curious to see how TOR evolves. If it follows the WoW gear treadmill raiding design then I won't play this game for long. If it does something different with it's endgame then maybe i stick around longer than I have planned. The best thing that could happen with this game is for the WoW players to quit, since there is a danger that Bioware may listen to them. Anyway, the story is far better than WoW's goofy saturday morning cartoon of a plot. Not sure where the OP gets off critizing graphics and animations though. They aren't perfect but it is miles beyond WoW. (WoW looks like a kid ate a bunch of crayons and threw up on the screen. The animations are so simplistic that it hardly matters they are there) I disagree with the OP about autoattack but have some critizism for Bioware too. Autoattack being gone would make more sense if targetting was based on proximity instead of the tab key. One thing that Age of Conan got right was the targetting and combat system which is miles ahead of WoW (and TOR for that matter). Anyway...Whatever.
  2. I don't care about PVP rewards. I would prefer to see punishment of my enemies death's instead. Maybe if i could loot one random inventory item... Otherwise, the only way to create real punishment is to corpse camp.
  3. The saddest day ever was when the term "open world pvp" was created... Once upon a time we had pvp and instanced pvp. Now we have pvp and "open world pvp".
  4. I give Bioware a C. I don't like the combat since it feels like WoW. I don't like the gear treadmill. The quests are fun. The community looks like a WoW transplant which happens when you make a clone. However, the forum whining is pretty epic and creates a lot of fun trolling opportunities. Griefing in this game will most likely be a lot of fun due to the crappy community.
  5. I have leveled to max level in many mmos that were FFA open PVP, not the faction based crap. I maybe got ganked 5 - 10 times in the course of that. It is very easy to avoid getting ganked if you simply pay attention to what is going on around you. When a game has a death penalty most people do this. In a game without a death penalty, people just run around like sheep. And yes, get one shot. Lots of people join MMORPGS after launch and they make it to cap just fine.
  6. They won't take away anyone's xp. They should but they won't. Just imagine the *****torm if they did. People are going ******* about not getting into the game in the first wave of early access despite knowing they wouldn't. Take away people's xp and they will freak out. A long time ago I played Vanguard, which was a great game despite the bugs. I suffered through them and still had a ton of fun, but at one point a gold duplication exploit was discovered and used massively. The devs decided not to take people's gold away probably because they were worried about people quitting if they did, and the economy was subsequently destroyed. And that destruction was the reason I left the game. I support a rollback but it won't happen.
  7. PVP RP is actually a fun ruleset. You can PVP as normal, you just talk smack in character instead of out of character.
  8. The 150 is mainly for the Dark Vader statue or whatever it is.
  9. I could care less how they launch it, I'll play it when they say i can play it. I LOVE the crazy whining today in the forums though. Such a good read. It's rare when i can actually find that much misery to feed off of in one spot.
  10. No one would have watched it anyway. But definitely not now.
  11. It's because America is so great! Deal with it.
  12. Yes! One down. Soon we will be free of the WoW menace.
  13. The only way to have an economy in an mmorpg is to have player looting and item destruction. Otherwise its not an economy its a gold sink.
  14. Time for a rollback????? I hope so. Would be quite funny.
