Pinging doesn't reflect what is dropping the packets, only that they're being dropped. Also, we don't know the IP/domain for the server, so how could you ping it. But this sounds like this error is limited to the OP only.

The anti aliasing system caused poor performance for a number of users, therefor was pulled to be worked on. What? Bioware probably doesn't have separate team for EU servers, this is their first MMO, why don't you calm down and be patient. Uh... what? Once to zone from the origin planet to your ship, then once to zone from your ship to the planet. That's half of 4 times.

It can be almost impossible to figure out patterns. Without the correct data it will be hard to tell, but the holiday thing is a good one. Also kids are back in school. That might contribute.

Not necessarily. It would be a breach of contract if it was sold over the counter before the street date but Amazon ships out orders before their street dates to ensure they get to the customers ON the street date. There is a malleability clause.
