  1. One can hope, right? Bleh. You're right. No hope.
  2. Observation: Tatooine homestead's time of day in the video is dusk/evening. Tatooine is normally mid-day. Conclusion: Possible day night cycles?
  3. True. I cannot comprehend how bad I am and defeat myself constantly. My own worst enemy.
  4. I am also in the recruitment process and have been asked to post on this thread. They do say that it has no effect on our acceptance or rejection in the guild. So far it's been very interesting. They do PvP almost daily, mostly casual unranked PvP, and in all kinds of different brackets. Several players do ranked as well I think. There is ample opportunity to join in, and they make sure everyone who wants to participate can. It seems like their PvE operations have 2 different styles (I think), closed Ops that are more hardcore and open signups for Ops that are more casual/gearing oriented. I think its a good balance, but I don't have a 55 yet, so I haven't participated in any of the Ops yet. So far as I've been here, I haven't seen much GSF activity, but then its only been a little over a week. It is a relatively large community overall, but I have been really impressed with how much personal attention they give to you. I was participating in a PvP strategy/information event and the GM Infidel whispered me to see how I was doing and how I felt the event was going. It's intimidating being around all new people, but they do their very best to make you feel comfortable. One last interesting thing is that they not only have a lot of women in the guild, but also a lot of women in management and some very skilled female players at that. There wasn't a single ounce of sexism I ever saw or heard against anyone, and I already feel proud of the way this guild manages that aspect of game. I'm not a female, so this wasn't a big deal for me, but if you're looking for a female friendly guild, I don't think you can do much better than here. They also have several other games with a Pax presence, so if you are a multi-game player, this could be a great fit for you.
  5. Hello, I'm a returning player, just re-subbed yesterday (missing on the May 11th deadline for the 5-room sky palace by a day). I don't know if I'm an oddball, but I just can't be bothered with hardcore PvE, PvP, or RP. What I like to do most is open world stuff that is organic and fun, not structured questing, PvP'ing, etc. Take over an opposite faction base for a couple of hours? I'm in. Speeder race on Alderaan? You bet. Team mountain climbing on Hoth? Yes sir. Lightsaber/rifle only (no armor) PvP on Tatooine? Sweet. I even love open world PvP - not because its fair or balanced (or manages 20 fps), but because its hilarious and fun. Sure I'll help you do some Ops and some PvPs, and I'd like to think I can hold my own. But I'd much rather make a swoop gang on Corellia and just joyride around. I was gone long before GSF came around, but I'm sure I'll catch on and be an asset. Here's me in a nutshell: My favorite part of SWTOR the first time was helping the opposite faction do heroics. I'd wait for a group of 4 to aggro a mob, let it turn gray, and then I'd jump in and help them finish it off. It was awesome. Did this kill me occasionally? Yes. Worth. I currently have a lvl 50 juggernaut, but I'm leveling a sentinel that I'd like to become my new main. So I'd prefer a dual-faction or republic guild. I also have a lvl 43 healing scoundrel that can eventually be for ops runs. If your guild is into social events like the ones I listed above, please post the events that you like to do and how often you do them. Thanks!
  6. Wait, are you serious? Because you do realize that this also makes that VERY SAME melee player able to hold you in place longer. My proposed solution: Until they factor in % damage taken during a stun into the resolve system, it will ALWAYS be worthless and not work as intended. They should also factor in stuns that are broken earlier than their full duration should NOT allow for their full resolve contribution. Just make resolve gain by 200/sec while stunned, and add a modifier for % damage taken, like 100 resolve per 10% health lost during the duration of the stun.
  7. I think that most of these changes are really only problems in Huttball, lol. Resolve building too fast has only ever bothered me when facing the ball carrier, as well as the Sorc/Sage knockback on the bridges. The purpose of resolve is to prevent characters from being continuously stunned and a general feeling of being unable to respond to attacks before dying. Unfortunately, this is not achieved by the current resolve system. My proposed solution to the resolve system: resolve should build based on BOTH damage taken during stuns and duration of stuns. Other forms of resolve adding CCs feel more or less OK to me, although extended snares could certainly take another look. A flashbang stun that is immediately broken shouldn't fill up the resolve bar completely, but a character should not be finally immune to CC's with 20% health left either.
  8. Nvidia and Lucasfilm represented SW:TOR at SW:CVI. Just a booth with 3 playable machines, nothing fancy. Rob from Lucasfilm (he had some management role for SW:TOR branding) was wearing the official SWTOR black polo and answering questions. He came straight from Germany to rep the game. It was something. One guy answering questions and 3 computers where you could play SW:TOR. Not really useful stuff for somebody who actually plays the game (although Rob did answer some questions with information I hadn't heard before). He hinted at basically a scroll of resurrection would be coming soon - first I heard of that.
  9. PvP suggestions: 1) PvP gear stat distribution. An original design goal was that gear should have less than a 5% effect in PvP. That is not the case when looking at recruit gear vs full augmented war hero gear. Please even out stat distribution so that a recruit geared player at least has chance against full augmented war hero when the skill level of the recruit player is better. 2) Allow Battlemaster gear to be purchased before level 50 (even if through legacy). I have to buy useless items with my warzone commendations pre50, then have to earn most of my battlemaster gear once I hit 50 anyways. Making this simple change will partially help point #1. If you are worried about time to play for earning PvP gear, I think you will lose more fresh 50s in recruit gear when they are bumped into the 50 bracket than the decreased time to BM gear if you make this change. 3) Make the resolve bar go up when rooted in traps in huttball. While roots are part of the kite mechanics and should not normally increase resolve, I feel the roots and snares in huttball are used very differently around traps, making for frustrating and incredibly low time-to-kills.
  10. Most gamers have decided that SWTOR isn't worth their time. Many Star Wars fans have never even heard of it. The point isn't to find the convention with the most gamers, its to find the population with the best chance at getting new subscriptions. Besides, the point isn't that SWTOR shouldn't go to Gamescom. It's that they announced they were going to SW:CVI, and now aren't. Keep your commitments - given how few commitments SW:TOR makes, that shouldn't be that hard to do.
  11. Nice, live events are always fun. Interesting timing don't you think? Almost exactly 8 months after launch. 30 days game time from initial purchase + 30 days free game time (1.2 reward) + 6 month subscription = 8 months. SHOCKER, lol. Well, I think the dynamic events just got a whole lot more predictable. But who cares, they are still fun!
  12. Easy fellas. Let's keep things in perspective. I don't think anyone should be fired over a single issue such as this, but I think there is a lack of professionalism by the SWTOR management by deciding that they would renege on a commitment to the fan-base 2 weeks before an announced event. If such mismanagement and failure to keep commitments continues, a change in management is warranted.
  13. I honestly don't care very much about which convention Bioware should be going to - there are different reasons to go to each. I don't care if you feel they shouldn't be going to conventions at all. The main thing that bothers me is that this was an announced event, on the event page and everything. Then, 15 days before the convention begins, we find out that Bioware isn't going - and only because it was removed from the event page. While Bioware isn't legally bound to go to a convention they announced, I find it highly unprofessional that they would renege on an announced event, and even more unprofessional in how they handled the cancellation - it seems that they hoped nobody would notice. Bioware for the past year has been trying its hardest to make its fans happy - everything from opening up new servers at launch to addressing the issues in Mass Effect 3. But cancelling on SW Celebration VI 15 days before the convention is a disservice to the fan-base and an indication on Bioware's ability to deliver on its commitments.
  14. You should still make it happen. Your fan-base is dying, day one 6-month subs are about to expire. Man up, stand by the commitment your company made, be professional. Don't bring many devs, just repeat the booth you're setting up at Gamescom. SWTOR at Celebration VI. Make it happen.
