  1. It sounds to me like you could use a fresh start. Try a different server where nobody knows who you are. On Satele Shan I have genuinely seen 0 toxicity in GSF (plenty in solo ranked though if that’s your thing). Not even normal bashing about people not playing objectives or solo rushing into enemies in TDM. In fact the chat is mostly quiet outside of “Inc A,” “ammo at x y coordinate,” etc. The only teasing I’ve personally ever encountered was a guy who said to me “oh damn we’re on the same team this time, now I don’t know who to to focus on all game” which was more funny than anything. Although I’m sure you’re burnt out and starting from scratch would be a pain, it’s the best way I can think of to enjoy the game mode without the negativity.
  2. Despite the ~100 hours I’ve played since galactic seasons started, I find it fascinating to see how skin deep my understanding of this game is. Your post could explain why it’s infinitely more satisfying to get a 15 kill scout win vs a 15 kill strike win. And I don’t dare go to Super Serious Night, I would get absolutely demolished.
  3. This question might be cynical, but what’s the point? If i want to really be effective why not just roll a strike? I can consistently get 10-20 kills just lobbing proton torpedos across the map, with virtually 0 practice or skill required. And I’m about 3x harder to kill than a scout at the same time. Although i love the feel of flying with scouts, it seems almost masochistic to push myself through the massive learning curve when there are ships so easy a 7 year old could do well with them.
  4. I appreciate the videos, they were extremely insightful. My issue with burst isn’t the rate of fire, it does incredible damage so it’s clearly worth it. I just find times when it is useful to be extremely niche. Defending nodes in domination it works great because everyone is near you, but in TDM i only find it useful when I’m in a tail chase 1v1. Every single other scenario I feel disadvantaged because I cant effectively use it outside of 2000m, so I have to chase players into disadvantageous situations to use get kills.
  5. I have an issue with scouts semi related to this. I have had matches where I've put out 60k+ damage and ended up with 3 kills. Sometimes we win and I just have 20 assists and some GS with 15k damage has 15 kills because they followed me around all game kill sniping. Other times I have only a couple assists and all my damage came in the form of 1v1s that turned into 1v3s where I had to retreat, or I spent minutes dueling Imperiums doing 10k+ damage but not consistently enough, and their shields regenerate faster than I can take it off. Basically, I find I often have trouble finishing people off. I hate the feel of burst laser so I typically use rapid or quad. Do you have any advice for how to do more useful damage to where it actually gets kills and does matter in games?
  6. I already have purchased all available fleet comm decos and armor sets, but there could be so much more. Ranked PvP has some of the coolest mounts, decorations, armor sets, and weapons in the game and hardly anyone plays it. GSF has the same pilot armor sets that have existed since 2011, and scout/propaganda decorations. It's disappointing.
  7. I have begun to really enjoy GSF after hating it for the majority of galactic season 1. I have since fully upgraded my favorite ship, decked it out with my favorite cosmetics, won a few epic matches where i have 10+ kills 0 deaths, and earned a few legacy titles. But now there’s nothing to work towards other than some pure longevity achievements which will probably take over a year. No cosmetic rewards, character title unlocks, or stronghold decorations. What is there to motivate me to keep playing other than blowing up noobs? That gets old after a while and I feel there is so much potential for fun GSF rewards that isn’t being utilized whatsoever.
  8. This is off topic, but there are definitely more topics on Ashara Zavros, I'd say. Not because she's a better companion than Quinn, but because she is, as anyone who has her on one of their characters can tell you, the poorest, most unfinished (both technically and storywise), and nonsensical companion in the game. On topic: The Sith Warrior gets some of the best companions by far. Depending on your personal character, your crew may be completely different (excluding Pierce and Broonmark) Vette you can either choose to keep a slave or to make her your ally. Jaesa can either be the psychotic/evil apprentice or the sweet/light apprentice. Quinn however, was a missed opportunity. I understand that Bioware had to get rid of the "kill companion" option, seeing as they would easily get 1000+ tickets a day saying "I want my healer back, RESTORE QUINN PLEASE," but the punishment for his betrayal should have been harsher It should have been 1)Keep him as your ally. 2)Degrade him/Strip him of his military rank/make him your slave/etc (but keep him around) Instead it was 1)Keep him as your ally 2) Keep him as your ally Which is, to most dark sided SWs, complete bull crap. Hence, Quinn went from potentially best companion character to a frustrating waste.
  9. Gifts, of course. Same as when I romance Elara Dorne on my dark-sided trooper. She hates everything I do but she can't say no to a few hundred golden necklaces. While this thread is up, if i progress through a few conversations without taking it off and then take it off later, will the arc continue unchanged, romance and all? Or if i'm an *** in the beginning is the romance kaput?
  10. Hello, I recently started a SW and was wondering, before i reject or accept her requests to remove her slave collar, whether or not her story will progress if i continue to raise affection with her, and whether or not she will give me affection quests and whatnot. Anyone here who has not removed the collar: did the story progress normally or stop after a couple conversations when you refused to take it off?
  11. I hate to be that guy, but you've got to be freaking joking me. Bioware tries to implement one boss fight in the entire storyline where NPCs help and you are so offended by the fact that they did more damage than you that you feel the need to complain about it on the internet. I truly hope this is a troll post, otherwise it reassures my sad belief that people will complain about literally anything possible. Damnit humanity.
  12. It's possible to save him, just don't bring up that he'll be court marshaled or else you have to kill him. Saved him on my trooper.
  13. Just keep playing Battlefront then, sounds perfect for you. I'll continue being happy destroying super weapons and single handedly defending/conquering planets
  14. I'm sure this has been posted already, but in case someone missed it, you melee dps know that you can set the tab button (or any button you like) to "Target NEAREST enemy" right? I don't believe there is one for center screen, so it doesn't helped ranged much, but melee has nothing to complain about
  15. This gave me a good laugh, and although I sympathize with what you're asking, think of it from Bioware's perspective: The vast majority of the playerbase wants to be the savior (or conqueror) of the galaxy, not a disrespected peon who never goes anywhere. Thus, they're obviously not going to make a non-epic storyline; they're all pretty big and flashy. I have a couple suggestions for you though: 1. Power through a class storyline of whichever class has the most enjoyable gameplay, and then you can pvp or pve pretending to be a grunt 2. Play trooper. They're the closest to what you're looking for. You're simply a commando (yes, the best commando in the Republic but we can ignore that fact) leading a squad of soldiers on war missions. Pretty basic soldier work. SI is a pretty good counterpart. You end up pretty freaking important but for the majority of the storyline you are just some sith trying to rise through the ranks (nobody gives a rat's *** if you're related to an ancient sith lord).
