  1. I was trying to read through this whole thread before posting but I could see it gowing faster then I could read and most of the comments were getting redundant ant way. SO if I missed something signifigant well I'm sorry. About all rhe Free ro play vs Pay to win atguements. And the cost of buying aspects of the game a la corte or piece meal as it were... You know tis is a business right? Bioware and Electonic Arts and Lucas didn't put this game together to provide a charity for Star Wars fans. They did it to make money. The point of Free to play as far as I understand it is to ptovide people an opportunity a chance to play without making a financial comitment. The idea being that if they like what they see they might actually purchase a subscription. So far from I've seen people aren't liking what they've seen and there in lies the problem. I have been a sucscriber from the begining I had enough Fleet Comms and all to buy all the items in question when they were released. I also had all the grade 6 upgrades. I looked at the difference and with a few exceptions the upgrades were questionable. Yes the shields and the amor is a signifigant boost but everything else is meh. Now if you've tried the new space missions you'll see the fundamentla flaw of the developers. They've designed things to annoy the customer base. I'm gong to make a more detailed post elsewhere directed to the people involved in making the game. But ive seen it go from pages of srevers to a handful. They're trying to make back there costs some how and I'm not going to fault them for that. If you're a subsciber and you aquanered all your CC in the first week and now you can't buy the ship upgrades well that was your choice. As I said I could have bought them with in game currency I could have bought them with my free coins. As it turns out I found someone selling them on the GTN for 30K a piece and that was too good too pass up. Even my cybertech couldn't make them fro that price and I bought the scems just in case a market ever opens up. Yeah I know not likely. But my question is for all those people crying about what free to play does get you and I want to know what do you want for nothing? The comapny still needs a staff. They need to pay to maintain there equipment and overhead. They *need* to make money some where or they will fold and there will be no game what so ever. Honestly I'll agree with people who said they need to keep their current subscribers happy because compared to launch there are so few of us left.
  2. Problem: This means that a group of 3+ (if I'm reading this propperly) never gets to play simply because a group of friends want to play together rather then getting qued on opposite teams. I mean that sounds cool because ranked warzones give better rewards then regular warzones but if you never get in because its hard enough finding a group as it is some days. That's why I'm not even pushing for evenly matched teams because if you had to wait for comparable teams to que together well there'd never be anothe match.
  3. I'm not sure what the actual problem other people are finding here. Are they just complining that they can't win because they don't have the gear? I have 2 problems and they have to do with the queing process. 1) is where a team with mostly recruit gear is going up against a team with mostly warhero gear and not only does the recruit gear team get slaughtered they don't have a chance to get any comms which means they don't have the ability to get the better gear aside from what they get in the daily warzone matches. My other issue is getting qued into a warzone that's already lost because people have started dropping out. The worst was the voidstar after the enemy had already planted the bomb for the victory. I don't mind loosing but I would like to see some reward for the effort. Seems the best answer I could come up with would be that if they can't come up with a queing process that balances the teams better they could at least handicap the rewards so teams that are clearly outmatched gear wise get more comms so they can at least feel like they're making progress rather then getting the snot beat out of them in every match with no hope of improving in the forseeable future.
  4. What's even more annoying is Playing a class that uses med armor and having something taken by a class that uses light armor and haveing them tell you they 'need' the cash they get from selling it. Now I wouldn't mind the guy who wants the armor to swap out the mods because some stuff just looks better then others. But when the mods are actually needed by another class in the group well some behavior is just rude. I actully ejected someone from a group in mid run because he stole armor out from under me that I really needed and I keep track of these people and I won't do runs with them again. Would be nice if Bioware put in a filter to prevent guys like this from being able to pull crap like this. Or at least give the option of being able to trade it to people in the group before the Flashpoint or phase ends so you cn give people the option to trade before ejecting them from the group. The only other solution is to only group with people you know.
  5. Time is also not a factor here. While they are traveling to Bespin they pan back to Luke traing with Yoda. It's quite concievable that the trip took over a month. I think it's a safe bet that it was at least weeks because Luke was getting close to the end of his training when he got the visions of them being in danger. Luke also mentions he's come a long way since his mistake in the cave. When Luke comes back from Bespin Yoda tells Luke he has nothing more to teach.
  6. I know where this came from and I find it irritating as hell. It stemmed from a Trilogy .. I forget who wrote it but it was a great story with Mara Jade and Tallon Karrade and Grand Admiral thrawn. Midichlorians where a discovery that allowed Jedi (strong Force users) to be cloned without creating a strong force resonance that drove the clone and the original person crazy before the clone reached maturity. It was a great plot device in the series in which it was introduced. And the it got introduced rhetroactively into the Old Republic... Should never have happened in my opinion... Went from being a mystery to a scientific measurable quantity. "OH he's onlny got a handful of mediclorians... Guess he can be a janitor..." One of those great plot devices that gained a life of it's own and rapidy took things into a nose dive.
  7. The funny thing about prophecy, movies, legends, history... Most prophecies are never interpreted propperly until the events have passed. Lucas did an excellent job in this. Everyone runs around thinking they have the answer but it's not the answer they get isn't necessarily the answer they want. Annakin does destroy the emporer which is what I would say constitutes restoring balance but the Jedi Order as it stood was completely destroyed in the process. Those events did pave the way for Luke to recreate the Jedi Order. Probably why the council was so reluctant to leap on board with following the prophecy. But, thats just my opinion. There are many people who think Nostradamous was a genius for all his visions. If he was true genius I think there would be ways to actually interpret his prophecies before the events unfolded.
  8. Wow. I can't believe how this discussion has taken off. Let's see this movie came out long before any games based off the Star Wars came out. The Movies had Force powers where Luke could hear and later see Obi Wan after he died. He used the Force to pull his lightsaber ot of the ice when he was hung upside down on Hoth. He used it to levivitate various objects on Dagobah and call to Leia when he was hanging off the Cloud City Station. What he did was use the Force to move the gaurs out of his path. The force powers defined as "Force Choke" came up in the video games when there was a finite amount of combat options in the scope of the game. Going back and limiting the force in the context of the game is like watching a Lord of the Rings and trying to define Gandelfs spells in D&D terminology.
