  1. Hello everyone! My little brother and I were looking to get into SWTOR. We played a little bit of WoW (We haven't reached end game, we're something like level 65) and were wondering what this games' end game is like compared to WoW. Initially my little brother, while enjoying WoW, was too impatient to read the stories and understand the reason why he was running around and doing everything. This left him occasionally lost, having to open the quest log and read what needed to be done, never knowing the full story. So I thought, maybe we should try SWTOR, the story is all VO and you can choose to be genuinely the bad guy (he mentioned at one point while we were playing Death Knights in WoW that he would like to be the bad guy in a video game for once, not temporarily be bad then change to good.) This would let him enjoy the story while working our way to end game. Now here's the reason for my post. I noticed that a lot of the cool stuff is on the cartel market. The game has such annoying restrictions on free accounts, that if you genuinely wanted to enjoy the game to its fullest, you'd have to pay the monthly sub, the same as WoW. However, unlike WoW, I'm worried that we will have nothing to look forward to End game. No cool armour, weapons and mounts to loot, because it's all on the cartel market. Considering I'm going to be paying a sub for both of our accounts, I'm worried that he's not going to get the satisfaction of working towards equipping his character to his liking. He's going to see all the shiny things on the cartel market and that's going to leave him wanting. I really don't want to spend more money just for cosmetics on top of 2 subs. So, does the game offer cool stuff for playing it? Does the game have cool stuff for us to look forward to at end game for raids and dungeons? I'm currently under the impression that end game is only for progressing stats wise. Sorry for all the writing, if you managed to read it all, thank you! Any information would be greatly appreciated before any commitment is made (such as paying 2 subs) on our end. NOTE: I sometimes forget my forum post so there could be a delay in my responses, please give me sometime to get back to you if that's the case, thank you!
  2. SWTOR's customer support is pretty bad. In general my experience with them never ended with me being satisfied. Not to mention, their communication skills can be topped by a infant. Also, did you guys know that the customer support will ping-pong you between EA customer support and Bioware customer support if you tried to separate your login password for Origin and SWTOR. They both say its not us that can do that, its them. So, if on some bad day information got out, your login for SWTOR got into someone else's hands, your Origin login is automatically screwed with it, and vice versa.
  3. Got the Android app. It worked flawlessly the whole time I had it, been a good 6 months now. I took long breaks and came back to the game and still worked flawlessly. At one stage I had to switch it over from my old android to my new one, the switch was super easy from your accounts section. NOTE: You NEED a sub to make a switch from one phone to another, as during my switch I didn't have a sub, the customer support agent gave me a sub for like 12 or 24 hrs or something like that, so I can do the switch. The customer support was quick, they knew what the switching entails so they were quick with their instructions. So all in all, no bad experiences, all good and smooth.
  4. Doubtful, the way the devs are going on about the game and the things they're keep boasting about gives me the impression that these guys think they are making the next big MMO that everyone's going to flock to. They are in for a nice shock followed by a slap in the face.
  5. Thanks, will give these settings a try.
  6. ESO is old, Everything from game-play to object interaction, to just moving about. The game feels old. It does not feel like these developers used the most up to date methods. The game does everything either the same as all the MMOs currently out, or it does it worst. There is no innovation, nothing new. If you jump over to ESO from SWTOR, your just trading themes, oh and giving up the good story telling for above average dialogue. I was tasked with rescuing people form the docks, they were trapped in buildings that had their doors/gates barred. When you interact with it to release the NPC's, they just appear from no where. The door doesn't open, the barring doesn't remove it self, the NPC's literally just appear and run away. When I saw that, I was like there are games out there that are 10 years old and can still give you better interaction than that. The combat will bore you, take the already not so spectacular combat mechanics of the Elder Scrolls games, then dumb them down even further, make them clunky and not as responsive as one would expect and there you have it, ESO combat mechanic. Bottom Line You're simply changing themes switching from SWTOR to ESO and giving up on the Story Convos, if you skipped through most if not all side quests in SWTOR and just watched the class quests, then be prepared to skip that main quest along with the side quests in ESO, because that sh** is boring. Like a previous poster mentioned, no hook.
  7. Tattooine....Jawas....The day I got the quest to pick on jawas on my SW was the biggest facepalm I did. A Sif Lawd tasked with bullying jawas. I felt so heroic.
  8. Honestly, would like to see the comms increased so that my alts can get geared better during lvling without having to do EVERYTHING on a planet. RIght now, I can get enough coms to get most (if not all) of what I need from the vendors IF I do everything on a planet. Side quests and Heroics. However, running my 1000th alt through, I don't really want to do all of it.. Once I reach the intended end-level of a planet, I start being picky and only do the quests that I enjoy, or wouldn't mind repeating, while skipping those that are either too far out of my way or just not fun to do again. Sometimes I just go straight for my class story and skip the rest. So it would be nice for me to be able to earn enough comms to gear my character out without having to run all side quests and heroics. This could maybe be connected to our legacy, so that alts (or after a certain number of alts) get a boost to how many comms are earned, allowing us to get the gear we need/want without having to do everything for a 1000th time.
  9. Lets face the truth people, This game's true focus has never been pvp, otherwise pvp would be a lot better than what it is. Keep asking for Free Flight PVE, and soon you'll have the devs implement something stupid like for us to go kill a space monster. Above all else, I want STAR WARS, give me more STAR WARS kthx. (looking at the stupid armour designs)
  10. I'm pretty sure, a lot of the people posting here don't actually care about what you bang...or what you get banged by. It's obvious that the developers thought that allowing romance for characters that resemble humans more would make sense, as you can be sexually attracted to them. I guess they didn't really think about "What about all the people that are sexually attracted to animals, we must satisfy them too!". I aint got a beef with ya for wanting, they could add it, after all it's optional to pursue romance, so really if they did add it it wouldn't make a difference for those who are not interested. But the point of your post is questioning why the devs didn't add it in, and I responded with a question that could MAYBE relate to what the devs might think of it. The point is, a panda is cute and CUDDLY, would you bang a panda? (again, romance means you are sexcually attracted to that person/creature, otherwise their company and just being able to converse would be all you'd want/need from them.)
  11. erm... you do realise that a lot of these aliens in SW resemble our animals in RL right? so a wookie would be an intelligent dog that you can converse with...it can be your best friend and help fix your ship....but would you still bang a dog?
  12. Some dark side choices are extreme compared to others, you'll have a much better experience, if you don't go pure. You can choose dark side for most, but when it comes to situations like yours, you can choose either the light side or just not choose anything and let your turn pass. I personally have found (playing both repub and empire) that if you mix your dark side and light side choices, base them on something you'd imagine your character to be like, then you'll have a great time playing through the stories. EDIT: At end game, you can worry about maxing your alignments, as you'll be repeating flashpoints and such and can always make the required choice then, when you're skipping through it with the spacebar.
  13. Surprised so many of you are happy about space pvp on this engine. I even noticed performance issues in the trailer. Can I suggest not to have any expectations, as you'll probably be disappointed if you did.
