  1. Standing O to BWA for moving this back. They've been taking a LOT of flack (deservedly IMO) and this move at least shows respect and integrity.
  2. Clueless. This game in it's prime had both the excellent class story lines for people who wanted solo PVE (and early expansions like Makeb and SoR) as well as PvP and Ops we could run with our guildies. MMO gearing needs to be predictable, and reward groups playing together and cooperating. The guild masters tried to talk to BW about the lack of new group content (Ops and PvP) years ago and they didn't listen. No it's not only that but a gearing system that prevents gearing alts so we can fill different roles groups. There is nothing "good" about it as entire raid groups of people head toward the door. If this game only wants to be a single player game like KOTOR then go ahead and rebrand already. With the KOTFE and KOTET cut scene fest it's close enough already.
  3. No. Instead of reverting back to what wasn't broken (the old gearing system), they are convoluting the new RNG grind and hoping everyone feels better that there will be a very limited way buy some gear. It's pale compared to what we used to have, and will still take months for mains, which means additional months for alternate role sets. They are killing the "MMO" aspect of the game where we used to have alt toons geared to fill all the roles our guilds needed for PvP, Ops and FPs. And I firmly believe the RNG and grind is to try and cover over the lack of real new group content. So still letting my 6 month sub expire next month.
  4. Thanks for listening and making some changes BW, but the changes are still way too little and way too grindy. Nothing was broken about the old system when we could group up with guildies and do ops or PvP ("MMO") to gear our toons. The excuse for changing the old gearing system was that it was "too complicated" yet this fix is completely convoluted. The old systems was predictable, and did not require months long grind to gear your main and alts - which is probably the main point of the new gearing system since there is no real new content. Sorry, uprisings (mobs, mini-boss, rinse-repeat) and cutscenes don't count. The new uprisings next months will probably be as different as the various star fortresses were. Leaving the CXP grind in place and non-legacy while still having most boss and ops rewards be RNG randomness (but it's exciting like the CM crates right?) means I'll continue to let my 6-month sub run out in January.
  5. I've been playing this game since beta, and started mothballing my 12+ toons as soon as I read about the new gearing system that not only was clearly going to be a mindless grind, it's a very disingenuous way to try and condition all of us to buy cartel packs. There was nothing broken with the old gearing system, and no matter what anyone says, this was supposed to be an MMO game, so yes, those of us in guilds should have been able to group up and play operation after operation and/or PvP until we dropped to rebuild our gear sets. Instead cut scene after cut scene and no new multi-player ops in years while taking away the ability to gear our toons (including alts for the right group roles) in an orderly manner, mainly IMO to condition us for RNG cartel pack madness and in the off-chance we wouldn't notice the lack of new content we'd want to play repeatedly. Personally I'm not re-subbing and logging in until they change the gearing system and either get rid of the CXP or make it legacy to get rid of the grind. If that's not for months or never, so be it - not going to waste time or money.
  6. In all the 5.0 gearing discussions, BW/EA has never said that moving components thru legacy pieces will still be available. Does anyone else find that silence more than a bit suspicious? The question has been asked repeatedly and not answered. Instead we've been told that mods can be removed and re-used on the same toon. Just like gear and DvL points will only be earned for a single toon. So the end of legacy gear?
  7. Yes, thanks for all the clarifications. I've been playing regularly since beta - and now I'm out. These gearing changes are clearly designed to condition players towards the cartel market, as opposed to the way gear was earned thru missions (Ops, Heroics, FPs, PvP etc) from the games inception. Anyone remember when you could get a modifiable gear, including an offhand, from a lvl 15 heroics on Dromond Kaas or Coruscant? Guess that doesn't fit the CM marketing strategy either. When you can't even be a loyal subscriber and earn your gear for your toons and have to deal with random pack for each alt instead of gearing in a planned way with your guild mates - no thanks. I'll find a new hobby a better use for my money.
  8. I had been using HK as my comp for dailies, but after levelling up a Merc with Treek with great success I brought out Treek on my Sorc and Sage as well and was very pleased. Healing and some DPS. I keep her in healing stance and go thru the dailies very quickly.
  9. When a class gets really nerfed, sometimes I'll park them until BW fixes them again and play another class for a while that's doing better for their role. And if you haven't completed all the major character classes, then you are missing out. My well geared Lvl 60 Sorc is fine for SM ops, but HM is "problematic". But no way I'm deleting the toon. You never know when BW will change their mind and nerf what was the "best" DPS class (Marauders/Sentinels are a good example), so re-roll at your own risk.
  10. PUG-ing the new OPS (Ravagers & ToS) just isn't a lot of fun for either tank or healer role. I spend most of my time as a DPS because of it. Before the expansion I got to where I could tank DF and DP no problem even when PUG-ing, but now I'm sticking to my guild runs because of bosses like Bolo and Underlucker.
  11. If you can afford her, Treek is great. Best healer in the game and uses your same primary stats.
  12. If you are asking which is easiest for PVE, then a Shadow having stealth makes PVE'ing by yourself a bit easier, in that you can pick and chose your fights, since you can sneak around a lot of mobs. However you lose the better AOE attacks that the Sage has to deals with those same mobs. Both are viable advanced classes for PVE'ing thru level 55.
  13. Switched my Assassin chest piece over to the Dark Fanatic's Shroud (PvP vendor on DK) to differentiate from my Sorc. Similar look to Saber Marshall but different color. Still very non-Bioware Inquisitor.
