  1. Bit disheartening to hear that it's been going on for longer than just this patch. Seems like something that should be fixed ASAP.
  2. After 6.1.1 dropped, and double XP started, I decided to make a new character, because that's what I do with Double XP. I noticed, however, that each time I leveled up, about 3/4ths of my HP vanished. I haven't been unlucky enough to level up in battle yet, but I would be quite irked if I were to lose a battle because I lost most of my health from leveling up. To be clear, it's not the maximum HP that drops, it's the amount of health my character has at that moment.
  3. Along the same lines, but I've always preferred "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
  4. Do I enjoy the sensation of RNG boxes, of that feeling of getting something unknown? Yes. Do I think it should be the ONLY way to get proper gear for endgame. H to the E to the Double El no.
  5. To answer the first replier, I personally start a new story. That said, I don't agree with dismissing the complaints, either. There are very valid reasons for disliking GCXP, even if you yourself see no problem with it. Myself? I don't do end-game stuff, really. I've messed with it a little, but it never grabbed my interest. That doesn't mean that the people who DO end game are wrong, though. Just means their complaints don't apply to my style of play.
  6. I agree. I'd like them to work on other things as well, but this really was something that should have been fixed as soon as they found out...and it presumably was.
  7. They definitely have. They update us when they have, but it's happened a fair bit before.
  8. That's because the last line of the OP says so. "We don't expect the downtime to last more than an hour."
  9. All I can say is that one choice in Chapter 8 (those who have played it know full well which one I'm talking about) not only hit me harder than anything I got in KotFE, but arguably hit me harder than any choice in SWTOR to date, and made me feel...guilty, for want of a better word. The GC stuff needs to be worked on, to put it mildly. But the story? No, the story was great, and better than anything written since the launch stories, IMHO.
  10. I beat Vaylin on my first try, but that was a combination of playing a Vanguard that specialized in close combat and knowing what to do going in. One piece of advice I'd offer on top of what has been mentioned: Vaylin has two stuns. One where she charges at you and locks you in place for a bit, and one where she repeatedly slams you into the ground. Don't bother using the stun break on the first one, because the stun effect only lasts about 2 seconds. The slams are the stun you want to use the break on. Beyond that, hit her when you can, and don't be afraid to run around looking for healing circles, and always, always run away from her AoE attack.
  11. Sent a message to Eric Musco. I know he's only a messenger, but I figured it was the best way to get my voice heard. "I am one of quite a few people unhappy with the drastic lowering of GCXP to only a single XP for one gold enemy. It makes doing heroic missions nearly pointless, because the paltry reward you get from the heroic quest is, quite simply, not really worth the time you put into it. I am far from alone in my thoughts. At the time I am sending this message, the topic I am linking has 15 pages of posts, and not a single one is remotely positive about this change. I strongly encourage you to mention to those with the power to at least soften the nerf to do so. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=903692"
  12. I usually don't post on this forum, and when I do, it's usually to be positive to outweigh the negative. This, though? Nope, no silver lining, no positive way to spin it or look at it. This is just stupid. Last night, I ran through the Ord Mantell and Coruscant heroics, figuring it was worth a try to see how much CXP that would get me. I didn't even get from level 4 to 5. The grind was already there, already not that good, and this just made it worse.
  13. Got to Chapter 8 of the new expansion. I really enjoyed most of the story. Started off a bit rough, but a lot of the story was great. And then I hit what I call THE CHOICE: save Vette, or save Torian. Well, I saved Vette. This isn't the first time this game has made me choose who to save, only to eventually save both of them. And when I saw Torian get captured, I figured that I'd just beat some troops, maybe have to beat Vaylin, and then save Torian. You can imagine my surprise when Vaylin snapped Torian's neck in front of me, and I discovered that by choosing Vette, I really had doomed Torian. It hit me hard on an emotional level, and I definitely had another reason to want to end Vaylin. So, well done, Bioware Austin. You made a choice that actually had real consequence, and as a result, made me feel an emotion that I did not expect to feel at any point in the story: guilt. I applaud you for that, with no sarcasm.
  14. I think it's supposed to be a rewrite of "Big Bottom" by Spinal Tap, actually.
