  1. This won't get off the ground. We (America) are an imperial nation now and our sympathies lie with the status quo/the people in power/stability. We don't like rebels anymore. Why else are we propping up Central American dictators, why did the media dump all over the 99ers, and why aren't we supporting the plucky resistance fighters in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria who are only trying to liberate their country from foreign invaders and corrupt regimes (Karzai, Assad)? Our society is heavy militarised. Our youth have been indoctrinated by playing games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. This is why TCW cartoon series was so successful. We want to be the jedi and clones fighting in our sleek armor and equipped with the finest ships, tanks and weapons, fighting for a galaxy-spanning organisation to crush the separatists aka rebels. Noone wants to see rebels playing terrorists with rickety hand-me-down and scavenged equipment.
  2. Whaaat???? Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Captain America were all terrible. Thor had lousy action but was saved by Anthony Hopkins and Loki.
  3. This is giving me flashbacks to Simcity. Can I sue Bioware for giving me PTSD?
  4. Darth Maul has next to no force powers and no defense against force attacks (e.g. vs Sidious he got knocked out with a force push then begged for his life while getting zapped). A Jedi consular would simply force push the top of his saberstaff, sending the tip into his head and killing him within moments of the fight starting. A smuggler would fire his scattergun, and Maul would have no way to deflect a diffuse mass of pellets with his lightsaber. Again Maul would die moments into the fight. Similarly he would not have the reflexes to parry the volume of fire put out by a trooper's minigun. The Jedi/Sith of the PT were truly pitiful and were no match for blasters. As we saw in the Phantom Menace one shileded droideka/destroyer droid is the equal of a Jedi Master like Qui-Gon. Jedi died en masse trying to save Obi-Wan in the Geonosis Arena. It is no wonder the Jedi Order was wiped out by clones and the Republic needed clones in the first place. The Jedi had neglected their ranged force powers and focused almost exclusively on lightsaber training, which due to simple geometry of lines cannot deflect volley fire (3 or more bolts hitting at the same time). The massed ranks of clone troopers that assaulted the Jedi Temple in Ep III would have been sitting ducks for ranged force AoE attacks. But instead of using their powers to throw the troopers around like ragdolls or burn them to a crisp with arcing lightning attacks, the jedi brought a knife to a gunfight. Jedi using lightsabers when they have magic (Force) makes as much sense as speccing a stereotypical mage for melee combat.
  5. Answer this. How does one lightsaber (held by Vader) block four lightsaber thrusts or blaster bolts at once? Simple geometry shows that it is impossible.
  6. General Grievous for sure. Darth Vader's mobility is severely hampered in his suit - unlikely to be able to block Grievous' four rotating lightsabers. Meanwhile Grievous has unparalleled mobility, e.g. he can fold up and scuttle on walls/ceilings. Due to his robotic hands, Darth Vader can't use Sith Lightning to short circuit Grievous. Despite his suit, Vader is just a man - chopping his hand off renders him combat ineffective (RoTJ). Meanwhile Grievous has gained new capabilities as a droid abomination. Grievous can sacrifice one of his arms, and still have 3 free arms to skewer his target while Vader is left open to attack parrying/cutting off his one arm. It is also PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for Vader to block Grievous with one lightsaber if he was firing four blasters at once. Darth Vader could not beat Grievous even in his prime, as Anakin during TCW. What chance does he have crippled?
  7. Yes, usually the socializing is done at max level running raids or doing pvp with your guildies.
  8. So if I capture and torture a girl, she will become my faithful follower like Bastila Shan? Thanks Star Wars for the life lesson.
  9. Yup, plenty of unique convos. The jokers at Bioware decided to insert a lot of Hulk references if the player chose to be Mirialan (esp dark side options : "I shall smash you" / "Don't make me angry, you won't like me when I'm angry" etc)
  10. This game would be P2W if duping wasn't so rampant in this game. I have been sent many unsolicited tells offering to sell me any item I desire off the cartel market for extremely low prices , e.g. Mask of Nihilus for 25k credits. I have reported these spammers ingame, but the same spammers are still online till this day. Talking to people I meet in warzones and flashpoints, it appears many of them have used these dupers to unlock every f2p restriction and play for free. So, rather than making this game P2W, I would say that the tradable cartel market has made this game cheaper to play and more casual: instead of farming operations for months to get a mount or vanity drop, they can spend 20k or so credits for the best looking gear in the game.
  11. As no dev or CSR reply has been forthcoming, I have had to accept that my character will remain female and unloved. Right now, I have dressed my smuggler in the slave girl outfit and am watching her /clubdance. It is a poor shadow of the stimulation that actual SGR interactions would have provided, but I have had to find some way to console myself. It looks like I will have to reroll. Does anyone know what other class (besides smuggler) has the most flirt options and best romance scenes?
  12. Hi, I started leveling a smuggler as I read that the class had the option of bedding almost everyone it came across during it's storyline. Naturally, I rolled a buxom blonde chick so I would be be able to see two delightful female specimens rolling in the hay, and running between cutscenes her wiggling butt would keep me on edge for the scripted romance sequences. However, 40 levels in, having had no chance to flirt with any females I've encountered (including a Leia-expy, a personal dream of mine ever since I saw RoTJ, and made even more possible by SWTOR including a slave girl set), I found out that SWTOR does not allow same-gender relationships!!! I feel duped by EA. EA have marketed this game as a BioWare title, but clearly it is not. Bioware games from Jade Empire, Dragon Age to Mass Effect have always been about lesbian sex, down to their games being labeled "sex simulators" in the news. Now that I know there are no SGR options, the game feels hollow. What's the point of combat, gear grinding, managing companion affection without a payoff? I have no inclination to play my character anymore and I'm disgusted at Bioware for selling out to the pro-equality crowd, who say that just because no-one wants to see gay characters means lesbians need to go as well. The choice is simple. Right now Bioware, you are at risk of losing a paying customer. It doesn't have to be that way, however. Just let me flirt with female characters. Give my smuggler a sex-change. Switch her voice set and dialogue options to the male smuggler, but keep her female appearance and combat grunts. It's not a Bioware game without girl-on-girl action.
  13. The Star Wars universe bears no relation to reality. We are expected to accept that small starfighters can tank sustained fire from massive star destroyers and tie fighters (Ep V), the Empire's troops are inept at aiming and their armor is useless against sticks and stones (ewoks), and the universe's elite fighters, the jedi, are so, despite going into battle unarmored with a simple lightsaber and could be defeated by a shotgun or simply being shot by three opponents at once (a line cannot intersect three non-collinear points). There's no point in discussing Star Wars, because nothing stands up to scrutiny. Everything happened the way it did, because the writers said so.
