  1. I still can't get used to calling the area the "DMV".. I always think "Department of Motor Vehicles." Then again, with the way traffic is around here, it's probably very appropriate.
  2. I fit the British stereotype too... so much so that some people in my guild assumed I was British. Then I spoke in Vent and they heard my stereotypical American accent, lol. I blame it on too much BBC.
  3. Yeah, I remember you leaving for deployment. You were missed (especially by my squishy warg-food hobbit self). I am glad you are back!
  4. I am totally taking this as a compliment (of course, I also take it as a compliment when the grocery store clerk cards me for beer).
  5. Tea... hot tea. My tea habit was so infamous that in the last game I played the raid leader would often say stuff like, "5 minute bio break, Jilla you have time to make tea."
  6. I was there about a month after launch. I was new to MMOs, so I was pretty amazed at the game and only remember some graphic bugs (something about when I fought the murlocks made the graphics go all wonky). I remember the queues too... yuck. But overall I liked it and it was fun... so is SWTOR (it's fun nd I like it). There are some minor bugs in this game, but nothing I can't play around. I figure it will grow and mature just like WoW did.
  7. How did I miss this thread! My character's name was Jilla and I played on Vilya . A lot of my kin is here too. I was in Forged by Fire there and in Forged by Fire on Mindtrick here. I didn't have any alts--I am not an alt person (although I am turning into one in this game) If you are the same level 50 hunter Linos that I know, you were on Vilya. I used to hang out with a guy who had a 50 hunter by that name. He helped me out a lot in the Moors. If that was you, HI!
  8. Remember bragging to your friends how many times you say it (and inflating the number?) lol. Yeah, that movie made such an impression on me that it's the only movie I really remember, in detail, from that early in my childhood. Down to what theater I was in, where I was sitting, who I was with, etc. I also remember nearly jumping out of my seat when the Jawas shot R2D2... funny thing was, years later when they re-released the original trilogy right before the prequel, I was sitting behind a family with three boys (who never saw the movie before that night). They nearly jumped out of their seats too at the same part, lol.
  9. Since some nice man "accused" me of being younger than I am , I figure I will post a more close up shot than my diving pictures. This one is more recent anyway--as in a couple of months old. http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/8915/swtorg.jpg I won't give away my age, I never do online, but let's just say I am old enough that I went to the original Star Wars film (Episode IV) two weeks after it premiered and still remember how I felt while watching that movie to today. I think I might be the oldest female to post a picture to this thread too (but there are a lot of posts, so I may have missed a few ).
  10. I am a marketing manager at a non-profit and I play both a Bounty Hunter and a Smuggler. Somehow, it seems fitting to pair marketing with bounty hunting and smuggling, lol.
  11. I pretty much second what Bruinologist said. It's not that bad... just look for a mature guild and you'll be fine. Good luck and have fun!
  12. You know, I can empathize with this guy because I've noticed that guys do talk differently if they think they are with all guys... honestly they tell funnier jokes if you ask me, lol. But women do the same thing too, they talk about things with other women that they wouldn't want men to hear. BTW, I noticed this about guys because I tend to join an vent channel and not speak--not because I am afraid of being a female gamer or what will be said to me, but because I really, really hate the sound of my own voice Anyway, they act differently (and like I said, tell better jokes) when they don't know I am female. For the record, I don't like to be treated rudely, but I've honestly never had that problem either--even if they think I am a guy. Anyway, I've never had any real issues with guys in MMOs. Some are a little flirty now and then, but most (including the flirty ones) are just nice guys playing a game and having fun. I've met very few creeps in the 7 years I've been playing MMOs and they are easily dispatched with a high dose of wit.
  13. Hey all... I didn't read all 13 pages of this thread, but I wanted to chime in with something that might help people if it hasn't already been posted. I did lightspring last night and found it frustrating (until I beat it). What was frustrating for me is I was trying everything I could think (mainly trying to pull either Diego or the Sith away from the fight). I did a search and found a strat that said to put Corso on passive until after I managed to pull one of the bosses. It said to pull one of them over the bridge... that didn't work for me, they stayed at the foot of the bridge in healing range of each other. Then I tried to pull to the left, up a ramp near a tent. That worked, but the minutes I tried to interrupt a heal, Corso ran in to fight the other Boss fighting the Jedi. I did another search and found this video by another forum poster: 3HVyGBkMcbX1nzkgDLfz He had Corso on passive until after he pulled to the right as you are facing the mobs. Then he and Corso fought the one boss alone. Healed up. And then finished off the Jedi. I pretty much did the same thing but finished off the Sith. I didn't do as well as he did (my fight went slower--maybe it's my Sawbones build-- but I pretty much did exactly what he did and won the fight. The irony is, it's what I was trying all along and never worked for me when I tried to pull straight back and to the left. Watch the video and what he does and if you are having trouble, it might help. Good luck! BTW, as a someone playing a female character on the light side, that video was great for seeing the dark side of a male smuggler. The best part was Corso's comments, lol.
