  1. Hi. I'm a PvP supporter, too. And I do care about this game. See that sig? PvP breaks down (and damages the game as a whole) when developers try and split it from the rest of the game. Players behave differently and have different abilities than mobs do- and you can't balance for both. "Balance" for PvP by altering players and you mess with PvE. Balance for PvE and people whine and moan about OP classes in PvP. The solution is not playing the nerf-and-buff game to begin with. The problem has always lied in making places where only being good vs. players matters, as opposed to being challenged by the entire game- players and mobs at once. When we split the game into PvP and PvE, we split the community. PvP should have been part of existing zones, not quarantined into warzones or even entire planets (Ilum, looking at you). It should be part of the game, not a game-within-a-game. We should have been seeing people shooting each other all over Nar Shaadda, Tatooine and Alderaan and Quesh rather than being able to go through entire planets without seeing a single player from the opposite faction from beginning to end of the mission lines. Instead, it's walls of super-50 guards and not a whisper of a reason to do so, even on PvP servers.
  2. Seriously. Is it that hard to add a RE'd orange schematic result to various items that match a specific skin in white/green/blue versions? All you've got to do is add a set of orange items with no real stats that match those visuals. This should be cake for an experienced MMO team, right?
  3. I'm on the "enjoy" part. I hope for further installments- after all, there was no actual cure at the end of all the dailies, and the mastermind was never found. Where will they strike next? And why would they comment on the negative ones? The only result would be a swarm of players repeating the same complaints for six or seven full threads, exactly as it was on the "Remove the Rakghoul Plague" threads that went on and on and on.
  4. Yep. Having another faction successfully infect you ALSO flag you PvP was a flaw- infection is treated as an attack, a successful attack on the other faction means you're both PvP, ergo the game flags you PvP and keeps you that way while infected. BANG. On PvP servers, no big deal. On PvE ones, it really was griefing- the same way it used to be with Imps trying to sneak into AoE attacks I was doing to get flagged and kill me.
  5. Mandalorians. Lots of Mandalorians. Invading Fleet, gunning down people in there so called "safe areas". Or Genosians. Aliens. Killer robots. I don't care, as long as it's appropriately KOTOR. I detest 100% safe areas. They encourage people to think that they can hide from the world. When this happens, my preference is that it come knocking, preferrably with a blaster bolt and a vibroknife to the face. Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
  6. Actually, the problem was they made the vectoring more PvP than PvE. We should have had random NPC's ghoul out, jump on players and tear the hearts out of players on Fleet (no repair cost, mind you) while on Fleet, and then have a containment squad spawn and gun down the NPC in question. Players that weren't killed would of course be infected if unvaccinated. Likewise when someone exploded on Fleet, it should have also summoned a containment squad- who would then of course gun down anyone who was Feverish (obviously infected) in turn. Because I'm sick of people going "Waaah, we should be able to opt out of world events." Opting out of world events to me is like saying "I want to opt out of dealing with (insert game mechanic here)." The only difference is that world events are temporary. You can't opt out of using Force for your Jedi or Sith, you can't opt out of falling over when you run out of health. It is part of the world. Deal with it. Get infected and die, spend credits on vaccine, hide on your ship, whatever- but you don't "opt out". You deal with it. Yes, I'm sorry that the world event upsets your precious schedules. I do think that there should have been more of reaction to the (obvious) cycle of infection on Fleet, and I expect that next time said reactions will be more energetic from the devs. But the game needs those chaotic injections to remain strong and vital, rather than repetitive, mediocre, and dull.
  7. Except it's an instance. Basically, it's another warzone. This simply stuffs players back in their closets. Which breaking out of is part of the problem. We need PvP that even if people choose not to participate in, they're in the middle of it. You're on your way out, there's a group of Imperials fighting their way to a PvP+E target. Will you stop and fight them? Leave them be? Run and hide? If there's anything I've learned, human nature is to try and mess with the other guy- to play, if you aren't forced into it. When we see other people having fun, we want to have fun, too. If it's a game in which the weaker faction isn't auto-curbstomped thanks to having NPC's around that are as much a part of the objectives as the players...well, that's a good thing. Integrate. Not "separate" . No more wasting time on PvP-specific maps that have no purpose outside of endlessly repeated PvP matches. No more "PvP planets" or "PvP-only areas". Each faction should have reasons to penetrate areas controlled by the other faction and damage it in some form.
  8. Let's just repeat this line. I will note that the Fleet announcements said "multiple planets". So far, we have seen Tatooine only. The event is still front and center on the SWTOR page. If it had ended completely, it would not be. Logically, this indicates that the outbreak on ONE planet is over. Jeelvic may not be back, but someone else who will take those samples is a distinct possibility- and on a different world. Remember that the initial stage of this event was totally by surprise. Who's to say that there isn't a stage two?
  9. C2-N2 used to have blaster pistol prof- but it was removed when it was noted that protocol droids aren't supposed to have -any- weapon profs whatsoever. What I'd like to see them do is give him the ability to use two generators instead, including Shields. OK, we understand. No violence. Howabout giving the poor healer droid some defensive measures instead?
  10. Tougher than it used to be, but you can still pull it off. The slower Acclerator procs mean you have to be more careful about going at it full-power and your DPS is more irregular as a result.
  11. Taris is a double-edged sword. It's huge and tangled and if you never played KOTOR, you miss a LOT of the little things. For example, there's a mission where you're scanning swoop bikes looking for a component. If you've played KOTOR, you realize exactly WHAT bike you're looking for, why it's there, and exactly who rode it. It wasn't just a "widget" at that point. I was finding long-lost history. And yes, the series of holorecordings regarding the fate of the last survivors of Taris was kinda heartbreaking and bittersweet, if you knew how much went into giving them that chance.
  12. Bioware: It'd be nice to have another surprise and find out that the plague isn't QUITE contained yet. Say, wherever that mastermind is who started this whole epidemic. Finding him/her and drilling them full of more holes than swiss cheese...
  13. Aside from the Razer crystals still being different, you mean? Seriously, I've seen the two next to each other. The Razer is distinctive compared to the event crystals.
  14. That's the ugly of add-ons, mods, and macros. If they're available, they will be used. If they are used, the devs must compensate for them, which means they go from "optional" to "needed". If I wanted a robot with me on high-end content, I'd suggest they allow us to bring C2-N2 along. What, that bot is annoying? So is anything that makes a player into one.
  15. Add ons are good, if you want players turned into raid and PvP robots. I don't. And raid content tuned to take those "improvements" into account. Thanks, I don't need the sci-fi version of Deadly Raid Mod.
