Dozens of companions have been killed and past cutscenes were not adjusted to reflect that, nor do they need to be. Not sure what makes you think they should be or would be.

Truth About Jedi Attachments/Romance
JennyFlynn replied to SugramRaven's topic in General Discussion
Uh... That sounds an awful lot like you're saying that anyone who's ever had a one-night stand with a random hook up, or even those working in certain areas of adult entertainment, are sociopaths. -
There are a lot of subtle clues along the way that show his intentions from the start. That's why for me, actually playing through the Traitor Arc was a little easier to stomach than reading the dialogue spoilers beforehand. Helped me approach the storyline as a "My Jedi Knight knew from the start and played along" sort of way.

Heh, thanks! And I agree, I do believe budget is an issue but I would assume (and I may be completely off base) that if they could, hypothetically, afford to create 5 new companions and have them present for future story, then they could afford to instead have a random selection of 5 existing characters present. Either way lines would have to be voiced and characters would have to be animated etc. Then if you were to make sure you mix in 2-3 "could be dead/unrecruited" companions with 1-2 "definitely alive and present" ones, and prioritize cutscene presence based on relationship flags, then I believe it would offer people a little more variety away from the biggest 'culprit', Lana. With each update, the playerbase would have a fair chance to get to hang with their LI or favorite again. That's ideally speaking though, and I do believe even with 5 new companions the same old issues would resurface soon enough. Plus, if they can't afford to give us those interactions now then I don't have much faith in them doing so with a new set of companions. On top of that, a 'new' group of characters, though not necessarily companions, was introduced with Onslaught and I do have an inkling one or more of them will join the companion roster in the future. Hopefully LI too because my Trooper wants Balkar at last. I'm rambling but for me, the bottom line is that if they're going to invest in companions, if they had such funds, I'd rather see those funds allocated to who we already have.

While I can understand the thought behind this idea, and I agree with certain points, I don't want what would in essence be a clean slate. There are companions and LIs right now who are near and dear to my heart, and I'd be gutted if they were replaced with a brand new set. Yes, I'm bummed when I don't get a sweet cutscene with Theron, Arcann or... hell, who even knows what my Quinn is up to these days but, at least we get -something- every now and then. Even if it is only a letter, and I'd rather have that than to see them replaced and never get a thing again from those characters. And, Lord Scourge... we have petitioned for literal years to have him become a romance option, which has only recently started paying off, at long freaking last. Nothing Bioware could offer in the shape of new LIs and companions would ever make me willing to lose him now. I get that sounds selfish when a brand new set of companions and romances might be best overall, for the player majority, but this isn't something I'm willing to support. Adding new companions and LIs, sure, I'm still waiting for Balkar with open arms, but just not in place of the ones we have now. PS: I know you're not suggesting wiping everyone we have now from the board but that is what would end up happening with a brand new party introduced and given screentime/a role to play.

You can, or you can edit the very first thread (chapter one) to change the title and then reply with the other chapters. But if you're unsure of how to do that then yeah, just make a new thread and use that for posting all your chapters.
-
You reply to the thread with each new chapter to expand upon it. Makes it easier for readers as well, so they can read your entire story in one and the same thread instead of having to click out and search for the next chapter.
-
Hi. First, welcome to the Fan Fiction section and sharing your story! Second, please be mindful of spamming the forum and keep all chapters for your story confined to one thread instead of creating a new thread for every chapter. It's pretty common practice.

Oh, it was hell. Before that even since some of us had seen spoilers showing certain dialogue lines and in-game mails without further context and oooh boy. Genuinely I cried through the day and felt heartbroken. Oddly, playing through Nathema once it was out brought some relief for me because that's when I saw the storyline for what it was going to be lol. But damn, riding those waves with each update, the long waits in between, and the possibility of losing him for good hanging over our heads was torture.
