  1. Dear Czerka Corp., As a big time fan of the Czerka Corp, I hereby send my open application-letter for the job of Security Officer 1. Please tell us a little about yourself. Why do you want to be a part of the Czerka family? * As a pureblooded Sith, I always noticed the similiarities between my beloved Empire and Czerka Corp. Both entities do whatever it takes, even going the extra mile, to stay ahead of the competition. The only law that counts, is "How to make us even better then we are now?" Because of this similarity, I feel a strong connection between me & the Czerka Corp. It feels like the connection I had with my birth-family (when they were still among the living). 2. At Czerka, we pride ourselves on our accomplishments. Please name three of your accomplishments that you are most proud of. (Please do not include family milestones such as marriages or the birth of your children.) * First and foremost, I started as a common slave, but through the hardships of live, training & fellow Sith, I now am one of the more recent members of the Dark Council. In the process of this, I acquired tremendous amounts of personal power, as well as influence of my subjects and followers. In this process, I even turned a promising padawan to the dark side, while I myself had only recently left apprenticeship myself. Eventually I singlehandedly defeated Darth Thanaton, my predecessor on the Dark Council. Second, during my rise to power, I reinstated the Silencer-project, which came to the expected, and very satisfactory conclusion of a succesfull test against a full Republic fleet, on the brink of destroying one of the Empire's capitol vessels, the Carnage. Seeing the advantage, firing the Silencer not only destroyed the Republic Fleet, but also the Carnage, which at the time was under the "employ" of Darth Achelon, who in turn was a subject of the earlier mentioned Darth Thanaton. Last, by definitely not least, I almost singlehandedly liberated the planet of Makeb from the Hutt Cartell. Not only that, because of my effort I also saved the planet of imminent destruction. I regret that I can't venture any further in the exploits on this accomplishment, as most of this is still regarded as classified by the Imperial Dark Council. I trust in the proven record of discretion of the Czerka Corp., but I also acknowledge the intelligence networks of my colleagues on the Council. And not all of them are as trusting, nor forgiving, as I am. 3. How did you go about achieving the accomplishments above. Would you say you would do "whatever it takes" for success? * As can be seen in the 2nd achievement I mentioned, I am a Sith who does what it takes. Killing fellow Sith, creating a cult in my own name, going against the wishes and orders from Dark Council Members... You name it, I will do it, as long as my power improves. If I am to become a member of the Czerka family, I will use this mentality to make sure that also Czerka Corp. will benefit of my ruthlesness. 4. Would you say you have a strong moral compass? Do you think this could get in the way of your job, should you be asked to do something...questionable? * The term "moral compass" is something I never understood. If it means that I should make certain that my & my allies should benefit from every decision I make or action I take, then yes, I have a strong moral compass. If it means that I let my judgements be clouded by concepts of "justice" or "compassion".... I'm a Pureblooded Sith, direct descendant of Lord Kallig -who was feared by the great Tulak Hord- and I'm a member of the Dark Council. This should say enough. 5. You are about to enjoy our wide variety of complimentary cocktails and snacks, when you notice that your esteemed colleague's newest experiment is likely to break out of their confines while you are gone. How would you handle this situation? * If this colleague's really that esteemed, he would not have failed in keeping his experiment confined. Therefor, I would enjoy the cocktails & snacks, and after a little while, inform this colleague, who will probably be present as well, what is about to happen. Preferably at such a time that my colleague will either die horribly or at minimum be horribly maimed while trying to capture or kill his experiment. Making sure that other people aren't harmed, I would even make sure that everyone can watch as events happen. Whatever happens, in the end I will kill the experiment, and if still needed, also take care of my not-so-esteemed-anymore colleague. As an example to what will happen to others if they don't obey the rules set by the Czerka Corp. Sincerely, Sneen
  2. I'd love to know more about Yodah's species as well, as previously states already. For species in the game: Wookie, Ortolan, Sullustan. Those are from the top of my head.
  3. And to be ahead of those who will say that monastic orders don't need so much combat-oriented training: Take a look @ the origins of Kung Fu. If you preach peace as the way to go and (try to) life that way, you make yourself a target to those who don't agree with you and are willing to use violence. That's how Kung Fu was founded (and all other martial arts): as a way to defend oneself. If you read the lore about the founding of the Jedi on Tython, and the 2 Great Schisms, that's also the reason why combat-training was implemented in the training-regimen to become a Jedi Knight. It's to defend your & way of life principles, when you are attacked.
  4. "Darth" because it's short and "the Forcewalker" because it's long.
  5. I'm not wrong, that's how it works. A theory that has @ least to valid arguments in favor of it, has to be disproven first before the theory is considered false. Besides, as I stated as well, logic alone is enough to prove the OP's point, as I made clear in the rest of that part of my post. If you can show me that of the 20 million downloads from curse, the average times a single person downloads it is less then 4, I retract logical explanation why the OP was right. If you can't, I may not be right, but LOGIC says I do.
  6. The whole scientific world is based on that principle, though. Some1 shouts something, backed by 1 or 2 arguments/results. This stays valid untill the rest find an experiment that proves the OP wrong. So far I still have to agree with the OP. I see the stats from Curse are removed, but I remember that the number 1 add-on was DL'ed 20M times. Which logically means that the chances are biggest that a maximum of 1M people use it (20 DL's per person because of all the patching, is a very reasonable assumption, an maybe on the low side). Considering a 10M playerbase, it means that 90% (!) does not use that add-on. It therefor logically follows, that over half of the playerbase does not use add-ons in WoW, and since in it's basis SW:TOR and WoW are the same game (MMO RPG with endgame raiding content), it's save to assume that the same percentages go for SW:TOR. THAT proves the OP's argument. Ofc, that is my opinion. I do like to see an argument similar to mine, that disproves is. If you're serious about raiding, but believe that raiding does not require add-ons (which basically it doesn't) or if you want a challenge in the raids, there is nowhere to go. Guilds demand add-on usage, and we all know that PuGs are not an option. Again, I agree more with the OP on this one. People are making this argument, I agree. However, it's a valid argument. Without a damage meter, you have no idea if you wiped due to the guy with awesome gear going AFK for 2 minutes while the guy with bad gear worked his butt off, or if someone is just bad. I have to agree with the OP partially on this one: It will be harder to spot a bad player, though experienced (raid-)players are able to pick them out of the crowd without add-ons (yes, they can). That said, I personally disagree that add-ons make bad players better. In some cases, they do, because a bad player can more easily access the numbers, and then do some number-crunching to improve his game. Also, some bad players are unable to use the wrong rotations, cause the add-ons do it for him some of the time. This doesn't improve the player, though, but makes him less bad number-wise. Part of this group is bad just because they don't know their class the way the should, if they want to be good @ their roles. Add-ons, imo, take away the chance for them to truelly learn their class. I may be wrong @ that, but for me it works best to learn a class without add-ons that tell me play the game. Some basic UI customization, macros & keybinds are then needed to improve my playstyle, and that way I know that with other add-ons, I can top my game and be able to come along with the top-raiders (which gives me choice in the guild I want). Furthermore: please stop blaming Bioware for the release. Especially if they're part of the EA-consortium. EA has been known for forcing a release, where developers know the game is not ready. EA has already destroyed several games that had the potential to be good, if not great games. Can't blame Bioware for that.
  7. It's said before, and I'm gonna say it as well: If you get owned by 50's and you're not 50 yourself, make sure you get to 50 ASAP. I managed to level in 2 weeks time, and only able to play about 3-4 hours a day on average. If you can't do that. Yes, Bioware should make a tiered PvP, like WoW has for example. That I agree on. But ranting on about how you get beaten to a pulp in a PvP-setting where you know there will be people much higher then you, is stupid. Be happy that they @ least scale your HP & powers somewhat so you can actually hit them.
  8. I had a couple of times when I got thanked cause of my healing. Didn't do nething during that fight, except putting op a Whirlwind (which didn't get broken, which was a miracle in itself) and an Electrocute here and there. An I agree, healing is challenging, sometimes stressfull, and can be frustrating (especially if the others don't pay attention to your casting-resource, or don't heal up between fights (you're an *** if you don't use your own heal between fights, and not using is slows the game down considerably). To all who believe that the healing slows down without Mouse-over heals, I say ********! All heals, as far as I've seen, are part of the 1.5 second GCD, are channeled or have a cast time of @ least 1.5 seconds. If you're unable to select a different target in that time for your next cast, you really need to learn to frikkin' play! I agree that it becomes easier, but when in life do things become easier? Not very often, and you're able to deal with that as well. I totally agree that the current UI, and especially the Operation-frames, need work to be better suited for healers. But saying that the current situation makes healing too hard? To me that makes you a spoiled brat to some extent. Stop looking @ the things you don't have, and see the things you do have. Those being, and not limited to healers only: * A challenge in a game that's a lot easier compared to other MMO's. * A chance to actually learn you class-power. * A chance to actually learn how to make due with limited resources. * A chance to actually learn how to be great @ your role. In short: Stop relying on things that aren't there, and learn to use the things you have. Trust me, if you're able to become a good healer with the current issues, you'll become an IMBA-healer when you actually get the things you want now. You'll definitely be a better healer then if you wait till all that not really necessary stuff is implemented, and you maybe, just maybe, don't need them anymore.
  9. I lvled a healer in WoW, but that was way before Lich King. But compared to that, lvling a healer in SWTOR is piss-easy: big part because of the companion-system (Khem Val, and later on your last companion as well) make it so easy. And your DPS-output is still acceptable enough, which means that you only loose a very small amount of speed, if I lose ne speed @ all. My WoW-main was a mage, and a dps-shammy as main-alt. I tried some tanking & healing, but I never went far with that. Not untill that game. In Open Beta I played a SI, but Lightning specced. I healed during some Heroic-quests on DK, and got complimented with the healing. Was learning there as we speak, though keeping Khem Val gives you enough experience in healing to make group-q's just the next step along the learning curve. Personally, I didn't learn the effects of bad DPS'ing on my SI, cause I raided for nearly 2 years with one of the top guilds on my WoW-server, but I did find it funny to see how some DPS are so incredibly stupid. Though that goes for tanks a well ("You do NOT AoE-taunt when there is CC around you!!!") to some degree. Just like you, I really like playing a healer (though haven't played other classes yet, besides SI): it's easy, it's not boring, and if you take the time to first learn how to heal properly and manage your Force-pool, it's so incredibly easy to heal, deal some decent DPS, CC & switch to a higher healing-mode when some1 screws up & a ******** of healing is necessary (which are fun fights to heal, imo). About the UI-issues: 1) Slow or no updates on health-bars: haven't noticed this much, except on my companion. But that's only the party/companion-frames, not in the target frame. @ least, that's my experience. Still, it needs fixing. 2) No mouse-over heals/add-ons: L2Heal properly! With the standard keybinds it's very doable to perform admirably while healing. The fact that the lower of the group-portraits is the F2, and then goes up, is counter-intuitive, agreed. But you really don't loose any time by clicking. Why? You can switch targets either during the cast/channel, or during the GCD. Mouse-over heals therefor should not make healing faster, only more boring. 3) Dual-spec: I hope they will NEVER implement this. Either level a different toon on a different spec, of learn to cope! But first of all, decide what you are willing to sacrifice. You CANNOT have it all, that's frikkin' live! The only thing that Dual-Specs do, is **** over the game. People that want to do 2 different things (Tank & DPS, Heal & DPS, Tank & Heal) will ALWAYS suck with @ least one of those roles, but more likely they suck @ both. Why? Because you don't have to learn how to max out your role. Also, it's not needed in this game, differences between speccs, are so incredibly small. Even between AC's the differences are not that big. Not compared to other MMO's, @ least. And it WILL slow down the game: gear is wanted by way to many people, which means that gear-progression is incredibly slow, which results in slow (end-game) progression, which results in boredom. And then players start leaving. And calling Dual-Spec the ultimate solution: ********, that would be learning to play & actually put some effort in the thing you do.
  10. Personally I can do without Dual Spec. Before I elaborate, I'm totally against dual AC, that takes away the point of having to choose an AC in the first place. Why I wouldn't want/need DS, is partly because I don't know how it works. I played WoW till a couple of weeks before the release of Lich King-expansion, so I never experienced the DS besides the good old way of respeccing. But the main reason I'm against DS, is the fact that it takes away the point of making decisions. The whole idea of choosing a certain tree (I made my Sith Sorcerer very deliberately a healer), is the fact that you have to live with the consequences of that choice. People who don't want to face those consequences, imo, should not be playing a game like this. They should first learn to accept that deciding not to make a choice, is a choice itself. Furthermore, I agree with previous posters, that stated it destroys the longevity of this game, by way of taking away the necessity of making other toons and releveling. Most fans will want to know every part of the game, which means all class-storylines. It's the main reason why I will have @ least 1 of each main class, and prolly eventually have 1 of each AC (and maybe more, if I want to play around with different specs, without the cost of respeccing).
  11. But after that, and after Yoda's message that the Council agreed Anakin be trained by Obi-Wan, he took that job upon him without any reservation. I don't think their relationship could've become as tight as it did, otherwise. Besides, in ANH Obi's become quite old, and we know that memory always plays tricks on the mind. It's possible that he remembered it that way.
  12. @OP: Like others said, it's a quite over the top to call Bioware lazy. Overall they do a pretty good job @ their homework, because: 1) They stay consistent with the KoTOR-series. 2) If they are lazy, Lucas Licensing is sleeping as well. About the HH-Class thingy: There's a difference between a Corvette (Thrantra) en a Cruiser (Hammerhead). That would also explain the difference in rear-ends between the 2. BTW, is there ne info on the types of cruisers the Pubs use? All I've seen so far a Corvettes & Destroyers, no Cruisers just yet.
  13. The True Sith are extinct, from a certain point of view. The first Dark Jedi exiles, landed on Korriban, where they encountered the natives, called Sith. There they lived as gods, and eventually mingled with the Sith. Eventually the Force users of that race became what we know as Sith. It was Darth Bane that turned the Sith into what we know of it @ the time of Sidious, 1 master & 1 apprentice (Rule of Two). If that was a good idea, is a different discussion alltogether, but it was a good idea to undo the Brotherhood of Darkness, since that was more a Dark Jedi Order, then a Sith Order. Marka Ragnos, Lude Kressh, Tulak Hord, all Sith from the Sith race (if I'm nog mistaken). Exar Kun, Uliq Qel-Droma, Revan, Malak, and all Sith after Bane (including Sidious, Tyranus, Maul & Vader): not from the Sith race, but definetely Sith. Though according to the words of Lumiya, it can be argued if Vader was really Sith, cause of her statement that non-organic-compounds block the full potential of a Sith (which is why she doesn't call herself Sith, though she is a former apprentice of a Sith Master (think it even was Sidious)).
  14. Reminds me of the Nikto Dark Jedi Maw, in Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. In the intro-film, where Qu Rahm is interrogated by Jerec and his cronies (including Maw) you see that he is cut clean in half by Qu Rahm, but later on he's the first of the Dark Jedi (if memory server me right) to be fought. You see then that his upper body is placed on some sort of repulsor-sled-thingie. Cut in half & cleardly survived to ordeal.
