  1. You're right about one thing. Not the heckling part, I disapprove of distractions of any kind, I can barely tolerate the sound of shuffling bags of popcorn. No, the part you got right is that my opinion isn't sacred and you can trash it all you want. If your only goal is to convince yourself that you're right, then be my guest. If you perhaps are trying to make yourself look smarter to other users at my cost, I'd say your better off with a more civil approach but what do I know. If you're trying to convince me of anything other then you're own arrogance however, then you have failed quite spectacularly. Just my last two creds. Anyways, last day of sub so last post here. Its been fun.
  2. Sorry, I didn't realize my opinion shouldn't be shared if it didn't conform with yours. I'm sorry for being so ignorant and stupid oh holy wise one, my humble yet flawed opinions are nothing in the face of your all knowing facts.
  3. A) You have to be a virtual gambling addict. B) There is no B.
  4. Well you are an insanely bigger reader then even the average reader let alone the average anybody. So nvm, reading the entire New Republic EU would only take you a few months so have at it if you want (though I don't see the point of the initial question if you do that anyways). I still suggest skipping most of it though. The Zahn (author) books are fantastic and by far the most important books of the whole era. Jedi Academy trilogy is decent and significant to the canon. I, Jedi and Shadows of Mindor are good one-off novels. And I haven't read the X-Wing series but I hear good things and its overall also pretty canon significant (I just personally don't care enough about Wedge to read a whole series about him, so I just wookiped the story). The rest (and theres a ton of em) you can easily ignore.
  5. I'm actually very worried. I think the whole Marvel movie-verse is almost as bad as the SW prequels, though more on the boring can't hold my attention bad and less of the "is this a spoof?" bad. What else has Disney been doing lately? Well, they ruined Pixar and they just keep pumping out sequels to "Johhny Depp: The Movie, starring Johhny Depp as Johnny Depp" And then we got Abrams, who's a baby step above Michael Bay imo. All flash no substance, covers up shoddy directing and writing with action action action. Personally, I don't fall for it. Its the same reason I dislike the Marvel flicks, they bore me because all the action fails to do its job in distracting me from the **** writing and acting. So combine Disney and Abrams and I see a train wreck coming from a light year away. The only hope I have left is in the fairly good looking writing team and the possibility that good enough actors will get the major roles that whatever stupid directing Abrams gives them can be worked into something watchable. At the end of the day though, its SW and I'm gonna watch it and probably rewatch it and buy it and whatever. Its achieved a pretty high level of tolerance. I mean, I still watch and relatively enjoy Clone Wars despite it being pretty mediocre and often destructive to the franchise canon. Even if I think the movies are a joke like the prequels I'll still work it out in my head how it should of been and then toss it over my memory of the movies like a blanket hiding its ugliness. That or just go by the novelizations, which tend to be a lot better. Unless they wipe away the New Republic EU. Idc what happens to NJO and beyond, but the whole Thrawn era is awesome and if it gets wiped away then the movies will have to be pretty damn amazing to make me consider the new canon the real canon. One things for sure, I'm gonna get drunk when I watch Ep7. I usually don't like watching movies drunk unless its a comedy, so suffice it to say I'm expecting it to be exactly that, like the prequels. Those are spoofs right?
  6. The cyborg armor sets on the CM are Bioware's gift to the droid niche. Take it or leave it, theres never going to be a full droid "race" cause it wouldn't make any sense for the game's story lines. Hell, the full Grevious-extent cyborg is already really pushing it.
  7. So to sum up, Maul died too early, Mace died just right? That's both entirely subjective and entirely besides my point. It doesn't matter when a character is taken off the stage, this series has proven time and again if a writer decides they want to bring them back, they will. Its the same rehash mentality that gives us repeated reflections of plot elements from the movies, like how popular carbonite freezing apparently is through the galaxy long before (and shortly before) Han was supposedly the first to ever be subjected to it. Did Sidious need to come back either? One could argue both ways, as they could for Mace or Maul or anyone. The single exception is Vader who Lucas has been pretty adamant in dictating he stay dead (hence not even a false copy-cat being in Dark Empire) Personally I thought Maul lasted exactly as long as he needed to. He was just an expendable assassin, not a real Sith, his Darth title was a joke and Sidious knew it. He served his usefulness and then got replaced. Done. Bringing him back only diminished Qui-Gon's sacrifice and Obi-Wans first real triumph in order to bring out a laughably short-sighted and short-lived rise only to fall right back off his horse the minute it reached a gallop. He isn't and never was an interesting character imo, I really don't get what people see in him. He's a dummy, a jock of a force user only good as a weapon not as any kind of thinker or leader. And thats exactly what Sidious raised him to be. He didn't want a real apprentice, somebody who could one day threaten his reign, he wanted a tool.
  8. I like how the guy asks where to start for the series where the characters are old and Chewie dies, and the suggestion is to pretty much start right at the beginning of the EU, which would give him dozens of books to get through before he even gets to Chewie's death. OP, that series you are thinking of is the New Jedi Order series, starting with the book Vector Prime. This is well into the post-movie EU, so there will be references to material you won't understand, but catching up on all of it would take years for the average reader. (And honestly, aside from a few stand out arcs like Thrawn Trilogy which I do highly recommend, most of the rest of it is pretty stupid or pointless. Han has an evil cousin? Okay whatever.)
  9. Maul didn't need to come back either. What kind of argument is that? This is a trope of SW now, dead characters come back. This series recycles ideas and characters more then Family Guy. Sooner or later it will probably happen.
  10. I actually wish we could of joined it. I get why we can't, game isn't ambitious enough for that, but still his vision was a great one too painfully short lived. They should of made him and his coup the big cross-faction crisis instead of the silly Dread Lords (I could never find myself caring about them at all, probably cause no effort was put into giving us any reason to, unlike Malgus). Two flashpoints doesn't do his character justice, especially for people who read Deception. Even worse now that he's claimed to be dead. I mean before he was like Darth Vader Ep4 dead, as in not dead at all but in the event that "sequels" couldn't happen, he's effectively defeated, they put a lid on it. Now he's Darth Maul dead, which is as dead as any character can ever be now thanks to the Clone Wars folks setting that fun standard. That is to say, he's canonically dead until somebody else decides to retcon it all willy-nilly and we just have to sit around antisipating that the day will eventually come, for better or worse. In this case though I actually want him to come back in some form. Thanks to his book he's one of my all-time favorite SW characters. Best case scenario as far as I'm concerned; let Bioware neglect him so Kemp can white another book about him. If not, well at least he went out better then Palps I guess.
  11. If it weren't for the credit cap and xp penalty I would have no problem with the F2P in this game. And since those are the only two major things I care about I just don't think its worth subbing for more then a month every now and then when I'm in the mood to play all day rather then just in small increments. So... I end up just not playing the game much except in those short but dense bursts. I wish they would make F2P better, I'd love to be able to casually play the game. But leveling is too slow and credits are capped too much as it is. Though I think I heard escrow is being changed so you really just have more of a single purchase spending limit then an overall limit, is that right? If thats true then all thats left to get me playing more is that xp penalty.
  12. Why does Justin Bieber? (you just got TOLD)
  13. Affection has nothing to do with presence. If you have several alts with their companion quest chains completed, and if one of them is human especially, your gonna end up with so much presence your companions will pretty much always have better stats then you, at least in terms of health, base damage and healing. Even on my Tank jugg, endurance geared, with like 400 presence my dps comp had significantly more health then I did. Presence is awesome.
  14. I picked up a free audio copy of Deceived a while back and after two chapters I quit and just got the book. Idk I get too ADD when I just try to sit and listen to it. Well, that and the narrator did the worst impression of a female twilek I've ever heard. Idk why he even tried, it was laughably terrible.
