  1. "The overriding philosophy in Episode I—and in all the Star Wars movies, for that matter—is the balance between good and evil." -George Lucas, quoted in L. Bouzereau, Star Wars: The Making of Episode I, 1999 "In each of us we to have balance these emotions, and in the Star Wars saga the most important point is balance, balance between everything." -George Lucas, Time Magazine article, 2002 "The idea of positive and negative, that there are two sides to an entity, a push and a pull, a yin and a yang, and the struggle between the two sides are issues of nature that I wanted to include in the film." -George Lucas, quoted in L. Bouzereau, Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays "The Force has two sides. It is not a malevolent or a benevolent thing. It has a bad side to it, involving hate and fear, and it has a good side, involving love, charity, fairness and hope." -George Lucas, Times Magazine, 1980 "I wanted to have this mythological footing because I was basing the films on the idea that the Force has two sides, the good side, the evil side, and they both need to be there. Most religions are built on that, whether it's called yin and yang, God and the devil—everything is built on the push-pull tension created by two sides of the equation. Right from the very beginning, that was the key issue in 'Star Wars.'" -George Lucas, Times Magazine, 2002 "The Light is positive. It is intimately bound with the essence of living things; it is peace, harmony and knowledge. The Light Side springs from the great pattern of existence. It draws strength from diversity and tolerance. It is also inherently communal in nature, thriving on cooperation. Those emotions that enhance the existence of the whole flow from it and tap into its great reserves of strength and peace. Patience, humility and self-sacrifice are paths to enlightenment. Above all, it seeks harmony and perfection. The Dark Side, in comparison, is the force of entropy and destruction. Chaos and rage feed it and are its sources of power. The Dark Side is a part of nature — it is not inherently evil, but evil comes from its irrationality, its intolerance and its lack of control. ******* and predatory, domination is its goal. Mercilessly aggressive and unforgiving, its adherents are blinded by greed and lust for power over those weaker than themselves. The Light and Dark Side manifest themselves in the way they are used; they are simply different interpretations of a single aspect of nature, and they exist in balance with themselves and the universe. Just as with any aspect of life and death, both the Dark Side and the Light Side are intertwined with each other, are necessary to each other and form a cosmic balance." -The Dark Empire Sourcebook And Mortis clarifies this theme again.
  2. People keep mentioning this here and there and I wanted to step in this time and state that - this is incorrect. The Mortis Trilogy in season 3 of TCW (which Lucas personally oversaw - as he became more involved in S03) goes into detail about the balance of the lightside and darkside of The Force. The view of "the Jedi" is that the darkside is a cancer - however as shown through imagery in the episode (Yin and Yang symbol displayed prominently at one point) and the archetypes Father, Son and Daughter this is not the case at all. The darkside is every much a natural part of the universe as the lightside and either one can cause an imbalance.
  3. This. I play a Shadow/Assassin and find Sages/Sorcerers (healers or dps) can be tough (sometimes) but not overpowered in the least unless in mass (but what multiple of any class on you is not?).
  4. Press the keybind and a large targeting reticle will appear on the ground where your cursor is. Place this over a member of your team and click. Make sure your team member is clear of other opposing players because the ball can be intercepted. Sometimes you will not be able to see the actual target circle if for example your team member is on a higher level than you. In that case make sure that your cursor is highlighted and not faded and you'll be good to throw. You cannot do anything with the ball while in stealth.
  5. All persistent effects are not removable by Resilience which is why you still see "Resist" after being well away from combat with certain effects (If there was a combat log I could better determine what they were). The tooltip (though quite a few are wrong) also does not specify "ALL" - it's stated "REMOVABLE hostile" effects. I'm not even sure I should be respond to this but - Yes - I can use all those things because they are around everywhere and especially on Ilum and Tatooine. And let's not forget that battle is static and not dynamic in the least bit. Shadowstrike can be used an opener - many do not. Even with regen out of stealth it's not that practical. Spin Kick out of stealth maybe. That would be more viable with another second of KD time to negate the effects of GCD - much like Operatives. And healers don't have stuns, mezzes, knock-backs, cc breaks or damage mitigation. And of course they're not guarded, ever. I addressed this in my reply to GFree. Re-read. I stated that the "RANGE" aspect should effect those as well. I did not mention the bonus to critical chance aspect. Also addressed this in my reply to GFree. Counterpart = Assassin. /eyeroll
  6. Perma-knockdown? How do you figure that? Knight's is faster than our untalented one by 4 seconds. 50 maybe a bit much, but I'd settle for a happy medium. Perhaps, I forgot about that set bonus. Acknowledged, I concede your point on this one. Hmm, I'd say 25. So with the Master or Stalker set either Project or Slow would be 30, respectively. Good points.
  7. 1. Shadowstrike should be changed so you can use it from any position if the target is incapacitated (Stunned, Knocked-down, etc.). 2. Spinning Kick should be changed to a 3 second knockdown. 3. Mindsnap needs its base cooldown reduced by 2 seconds or a lockout increase of 2 seconds for Shadows. 4. Resilience needs a duration increase of 1 second with the ability to cleanse ALL persistent hostile effects. 5. Vigor should increase Force Points by 50. 6. Force Strike needs to be increased to 45%, up from 33%. 9. Psychokinesis needs to reduce the cost of Project by 5 per point rather than the current 3 per point. 8. Force Potency should effect the range of both Project and Breach as well as TK throw. (Yeah, that might be pushing it but in a world of missile spam, running n' gunning and lightning galor I think it'd be okay every minute and a half.)
  8. Social Vendors and Commendation Vendor on Alderaan. I''ve seen people craft them as well, though that's very rare.
  9. Large or small number of saber attacks as well as number of force powers in use are irrelevant. When I find myself throwing Whirling Blow into a rotation or chaining a basic strike into one of the others just to have a little flair and variety that's a bit telling. Double Strike, Clairvoyant Strike, Shadow Strike need alternate animations to cycle through. And I won't even talk about them giving Run Through (the Darth Maul special) to Kira instead of making that our finisher or at least making something a bit cooler (spin-jump in the air bringing the saber down hard on the opponent ala Satele and many other examples). All in all, somewhat uninspired for the melee half of the class and definitely needs a small touch of Hong Kong cinema flair.
  10. I actually ran into someone who said Consulars couldn't tank.
