  1. To make the time invested in Hard Mode Flashpoints and Ops more worthwhile: Make the token that drops off of the final boss CLASS NEUTRAL. This way, any group can run the instance, and if they are simply trying to gear up a new player for Ops, they can quickly allow that player to get the needed gear. Otherwise, it may be 20+ FP runs before the player gets the gear. Consider upgrading the reward to be equal to the level of gear that drops in Story Mode of the latest tier. This way, you are not forcing guilds to run old content to gear up an couple of alts. This would mean that all HM FPs reward a single piece of Rakata gear. (Although Lost Island needs to reward Black Hole at least) An easy way to implement #1 is to create a new token (Malgus would drop a 'Columi Chest Token') and then put a vendor on the fleet near the class equipment vendors that sells the class specific tokens for the class neutral token. If #3 is possible, consider changing the loot tables of the lower tiers of Operations to drop the new class neutral tokens.
  2. I don't mind the change. It helps when a boss actually does reset. Clearing trash to a boss again and again is not fun. I will say though that some of the most fun I've had in Ops has been watching all 16 of us (well, whoever's alive) run around trying to find a hiding spot to Exit before the Boss gets us.
  3. I run Ops as Assault on both my Vanguard and my Commando. The key is to mix in Hammer Shots throughout the 'rotation' and to attempt to always keep your ammo at 8 or above. Also, use Recharge Cells and Reserve Powercell on CD. Personally, I use Reserve Powercell on my first refresh of Inc Round. And I use Recharge Cells after my opening sequence. If I use it just before a Full Auto, or a Mortar Volley, I'll be almost at full ammo by the time it stops and I can move on to maintaining DoTs and whatnot. Assault is very viable in End Game for both ACs and now that they fixed Plasma Cell today, it's even better.
  4. My Guild has been running Ops since early February and has moved on from the KP/EV grind to concentrate directly on Explosive Conflict. Normally, I'd take a fresh 50 into EV/KP Storymode to gear them up but we're not running that content anymore. The only other option would be to run Flashpoints until the RNG gods shine down upon the one character that needs the gear. That's not very viable given the amount of time that it takes to run Flashpoints for little to no worthwhile reward. So what's the upgrade path? Force guildies to grind Flashpoints? Force guildies to rehash EV/KP until the character is geared? Something that would make this gear up process much easier for established guilds.... 1 - When a new Tier of content comes out, upgrade the flashpoint end boss loot to match Storymode loot of the new tier. In this case, have them drop Rakata/Blackhole gear. 2 - Change the flashpoint gear 'tokens' to be class-neutral tokens, not class specific. I would gladly spend the time in a flashpoint for a guildie if I knew there was a 100% chance that my efforts were not in vain. As it stands, we're pretty much stuck either running old content for new 50s, or simply not taking them on runs. I can't even imagine what it will look like when we reach the third tier of Operations.
  5. Idea: 1. Make Token drops in FPs Class neutral. 2. Keep the end boss dropping a Columi Token 3. All other bosses need to drop Tionese Tokens Then when 1.2 comes out: Change 2 to Rakata and change 3 to Columi. Reason: I NEVER run Hard Mode flashpoints. There's really no reward to doing it, aside from maybe credits. But the time/effort to reward ratio is SO far below doing some PvP to strip mods, or just running Ops. Make me want to run Flashpoints and make them viable as a source of gear for new Ops.
  6. 'I suggest not dying so much' ? I suggest not being so arrogant and ignorant. Is that you GZ? I get about 1-2K in an EV clear. That's 1000 to 2000 credits. If I wipe ONCE, that's at LEAST 5-10K. I have no idea where you are getting your ideas on the costs of repairs. Maybe it's because you have more money than you know what to do with, but when you're sitting at 100K credits and you have to repair, you actually pay attention to costs.
  7. It's super that you personally have never had a high repair bill. Grats on that. But don't downplay the people that actually have. You people that tell me to play the GTN are forgetting one thing.... people have to have money to buy your stuff. That's great that you can sell stuff and play the GTN. I'm not good at that. Never have been. I shouldn't have to know how to turn a profit buying and selling stuff in the game. That's not fun to me, and I don't do it. What I DO is raid. Dailies take too freakin long. I should be able to raid and support my raiding with raiding. If I need some extra cash, I'll go do some dailies. But why should I be FORCED into doing dailies? So all this extra legacy stuff that costs credits.... dumb. I don't mind there being a big fancy mount, or social gear, or frill junk that costs a lot, but for me to raid, I have to spend more time earning money than I do raiding. That's not fun. I'm glad y'all have fun with the GTN but I KNOW that's not the case for the majority of the users out there. I reiterate: 80% @ < 400K. As for where the 80% stat came from, it came from GZ's mouth. No better source.
  8. I'm happy for y'all that have tons of time and money. I'm sure you'll enjoy all this new stuff. But I spend 3 nights a week running Ops. Another night is running FPs if I can. That leaves 3 nights doing what? I'm not an GTN mastermind. I spent a ton of money trying to create an item or two I could sell and that didn't work. Also, not EVERYONE can be a GTN wizard. If they could, nobody would be one. I understand credit sinks. I just think there are too many currently and to add more? Just crazy. Guess I should be happy to be able to buy a single stim on the GTN for 10-20% of my net worth... Nevermind the new stuff I'll never be able to buy.
  9. Look at it again. Most of the stuff requires a legacy level AND a credit cost. As for the assertion made by the previous poster about money and toons and all that, I have 3 level 45-50 toons that are ALL have less than 300K. In fact, I think I MIGHT have 500K between the three of them.
  10. How? The majority of players don't have the money to spend on the new cool things I can sell. So how will new Crew Skills help that?
  11. I'm concerned where this game is headed economically. While I'm THRILLED that Ops will provide more credits in 1.2 (at least to cover a night of progression I hope?), I'm concerned with the general costs of stuff. Simply put, there is too much stuff to buy, and it costs WAY too much. I know that I don't have to buy everything, but looking at all the Legacy costs, it's just making my head spin. We have credit sinks galore in this game already. But here's the thing that makes me really question the decisions to have such high costs on stuff... 80% of characters have less than 400K Why on EARTH would there be so much stuff that costs so much? The time and effort put into developing stuff that at least 80% of the player base will not be able to enjoy simply due to an artificial currency and its value in game?? I'm just dumbfounded.
  12. As long as 'more tightly balanced' means that players will not have to rely on the medpacs and either boss damage will not be so bad, or healers will have better abilities to keep people alive, then I'm all for it. I'm used to using only one healing item per fight anyway but it was nice to be able to watch out for my own health a bit more in SWTOR. As for the Bios in here, get over it. I never bought a bio-made medpack anyway. Make and sell Stims/Adrenals. People will still buy that stuff throughout the life of the game.
  13. Ok, is the T1 gear keeping it's set bonus even if I pull out an amoring? If so, if I put the armoring from the T2 stuff, can I get both set bonuses? I hope not!
  14. Regarding Armormechs, will craftable Boots, Gloves, Bracers, and Belts be part of this or just the traditional Head/Chest/Legs?
  15. Compared to armormechs being able to now craft BIS pieces for three slots (Head/Chest/Legs, if not more) as well as the augments that go in them? Yeah. Lame. Being able to create PvP stuff to sell was a nice idea. Having to PvP to do it, not so much. EDIT - quoted wrong post
