I know this is a few months old, but I wanted to give it a bump. I am having the exact same issue and it is very saddening. I am locked out of the Corellia World Quest line now. Everything you said about the abandoning message being vague is totally accurate. I did not understand that it would mean I was locking myself out of the entire questline. Customer service couldn't help and I'm not sure this will ever get fixed. But it is almost heartbreaking to get so far in the game and then be unable to complete all of the content.

Nope, nada. I think the whole free-to-play thing overtook my chances at getting this looked at now. :-/

I am currently experiencing an issue with a quest, where I am unable to reacquire a quest after I have abandoned it. The quest in particular was “Green Battleground,” part of the Corellia World Quest chain, but I believe this would apply to ALL quests that are in a “chain,” in which the quest giver is in an instance you only had access to while turning in the previous quest in the line. Because you turned in the old quest, you are locked out of the instance, cannot talk to the quest giver, and are effectively locked out from completing it, or any other quest in the chain. I have already tried having a person share the quest with me, and they were unable, and talking to the initial quest giver for the chain also did not solve the issue. Thinking this was a bug, I have submitted a number of tickets, and also read past forum posts. While there seems to be a mixed message going on, and I indeed did get a few different responses from my support tickets (which is why I had to submit several), the final word on the subject seems to be that this is “functioning as intended.” I am afraid I have to disagree, as I am now locked out of ever collecting a number of codex entries, titles, and equipment. This is apparently due to the fact that at launch, quests in a planets’ World Questline were unable to be abandoned, but this caused several high level players to be stuck with quests they had far out leveled, but could not get out of their Mission Log. After a patch (not sure which), this was changed so that the quests could be abandoned, but it also made it so that they could not be picked up again. There is apparently text about this in the warning you receive now, but if it is somehow more specific than the general warning, I did not see it. So as it stands now, if any quest (possibly besides the first, or any other time the quest giver may be outside of an instance) in a chained questline is dropped, that questline and any of its codex entries or rewards will no longer be available to you. I have to say, this is pretty upsetting. To get to the second-to-last planet in the game, and then accidentally lock myself out of content FOREVER, is a real blow to the virtual gut. Call me anal, but I wanted to experience EVERYTHING, especially storyline, and the fact that I’ll never be able to complete my codex (bugged entries aside) effectively ruins that part of the game for my character. And while I am aware that if I wanted, I could just make a new character, remaking my current one, I have several of the no-longer-in-the-game items, including the Korrelias speeders, the Rakghoul event rewards, and Centurion/Champion PvP gear. And this is all aside from the months of time I put getting my character to the point he is in the game PERIOD. Is this ever planned on being changed? The first ticket I submitted mentioned the issue being investigated, but I never heard anything else. I won’t presume to come up with a solution for you guys, but is it possible that one could be implemented? It has been very hard for me to log on the past few days, I’ve lost a lot fo the drive to continue the storyline. Frankly, I’d just like a little hope.
