  1. The only thing that kinda bums me about the game is some areas where it doesn't quite live up to it's potential. For instance, the game has the best environments I've seen in any MMO I've played. But....they could have done more about them being so static. They need to bring them to life more. For example, when I go into my hanger, I want to see workers or mechanical arms connecting/disconnecting huge fuel lines from my ship. Little things like that sprinkled throughout the game would do a lot to improve immersion.
  2. Definitely here for the long run myself. Great game that's mucho fun and has lots of promise. I've been playing MMOs since '99. Asheron's Call and Anarchy Online mostly before a few years of WoW. Sprinkled in some Eve, EQII, LOTRO, Planetside, and others on and off. It's all about what you personally are looking for. Just enjoy and ignore the self-entitled marys hanging out on this forum.
  3. Whether or not windowed mode is a problem is largely based on how close your computer is to the border between "running TOR well" and "runs TOR a bit slow". If you're in that middle ground, like my laptop is, you notice it. I really wish it was optimized, because I enjoy chilling on my laptop sometimes. But yeah, if you have a borderline PC, you will get 10-20 fewer FPS in windowed mode. Solution = don't run in windowed mode? Yes and no. Reload time running fullscreen is annoying, but there's also the issue that Windows defaults to a basic color profile making custom display calibration profiles useless. But then that's really only a problem if you're picky about color, I suppose.
  4. Anyone out there with a pureblood Inquisitor that has face tentacles? I recall hearing that face tentacles would clip right through the rebreathers and those half-helmets that Inquisitors can equip that only cover the neck and jaw. I'm trying to avoid character creation mistakes that I might regret later because BW didn't allot development time into fixing art collision.
  5. The mirror class system was instituted quite a while before launch. And the ability time delay with mortar volley was actually the result of a change close to release. Before that its animation and damage began right when you hit cast. I'm not sure what their justification was in putting the delay in there, but it certainly wasn't because it was "added at the last minute".
  6. It's also economics. In order to encourage the existence of a market where people make things for sale and not only for their own characters they limit you to one profession. You can get around this of course with multiple characters, but that's unavoidable and more work for the player in the long run. You have to really like crafting or be some sort of control freak.
  7. I found an interesting blog that pointed out the benefit to bonus mission objectives and bonus series quests. The ability to tailor your leveling experience to make it as hard or easy as you want. That's really the point of my post, but it never occurred to me that the system was probably designed around it. I just want to be sure I'm not missing out on anything I guess. Thanks for the feedback, all.
  8. *posted this in general, but I really don't know what I was thinking by going into that hot mess* Is there any incentive to do bonus missions objectives to regular and heroic missions other than exp reward and a bit of added story/coolness? Same question sort of applies to bonus 'series' questlines. Doing them doesn't seem to affect any completionist goals other than the personal satisfaction of having done them. I'm tired of leveling so fast and trying to slow it down a bit on my alts.

  10. Though I only have extensive experience with 4X as a healer (I've only ever used him and Aric), I think he could be used by DPS commandos as well in certain situations that you would think to use Elara. Elara would be healing your damage, but 4X would be soaking it up. Just a different approach. Maybe you'd end the fight with less health, but I think you'd end the fight faster thereby adjusting for the post-fight recovery time. Lots of people still haven't fully realized the numerable different playstyles you can employ even with the same companion across different specs/skill builds.
  11. Been curious about this myself. It's currently a pain in the butt trying to compare what's slotted with what's in your inventory other than the hover over stat comparison. It's possible, sure, but it would be easier to have some sort of matching system.
  12. I've been making loads of cash since the first few weeks of release selling purple crafted armor. There are always alts around and always slower levelers. I don't usually bother selling stuff below level 20-25. Yeah, someone might be buying it, but you're working with small margins.
  13. I've seen a few people post screenshots of orange custom armormech pieces critted to get augment slots. I haven't put the time in personally to try to get one, but I'm fairly certain it's possible.
  14. I've run many heroics and FPs using my companions. In certain cases, they actually perform better than some players... I've used M1-4X for some fantastic tanking and Jorgan can put down some pain with the right equipment. I've yet to try heroics/FPs with a healing companion, but I plan to if I ever change out of heal spec. I'm willing to bet at the very least a DPS comp could go into an operation. Might be tougher to manage them with boss fight mechanics though.
  15. This debate continues to rage, but most of us that have put time into the crew skills have learned by now that it's just not true. Moddable gear has not and will not make other crafted items obsolete. The reason has been stated 50 times already. I've been selling armor hand over fist as fast as I can make it throughout the entire leveling process. You just have to learn which pieces sell best and RE and in a smart way, i.e. know what stats different classes specs are looking for in upgrades.
