  1. So are you saying that Amazon doesn't have that little thing at the bottom of their product saying something like "People who buy this also buy....." Therefore trying to entice people to go look at those products and buy them?
  2. This is how I would make a 'Hardcore' server. This would only require changes to the Flashpoints and Ops. Make is so that you cannot be rezzed in a FP or Ops. If you die, you are locked out of the FP/Ops for that group. No Battle Rez avaliable either. Noone but the original group can enter the FP/Ops until it is complete or reset. In FPs only. Groups who wipe can re-enter the FP after a 4 hour wait. Groups who finish (even the players who died) can re-enter immediately if they so desire. Players cannot 'reset' HM/NM manually. This would mean that groups who lose 1 or 2 members fighting content would have a harder and harder time beating the next content because they have less people. Add an "Insane" mode to both Flashpoints and Ops. All Non-boss mobs increase in 'lvl' by 1 (from weak->Normal, Nomal->strong, ect). Bosses and Champion mods get 20% increase in Damage on all attacks. Players who survive to the end of the FP/Ops get a Title stating something like "HM False Emporer" or if on NM (NM False Emporer" So that they can show to everyone how 'epeen' they are. Players who died in the instance get nothing. Would this make the epeen hardcore crowd happier?
  3. Question for everyone blaming the Engine. Ever think it might be because BW created a game with cloth physics? I don't know many games that have it in it, but I do know that calculating cloth physics is CPU (or GPU depending) intensive. The more people you have in an area, the more time spent on just rendering their clothes. It wouldn't matter if the Engine was the greatest most optimized Engine in the world. The more calculations for cloth you have the worse it gets. This is just a guess from observations, not a claim that this is fact. On a secondary note, I have noted my FPS drops heavily when I am running Chrome in the background of my system. Shutting down Chrome speeds up my FPS by 10 or more. (A Fun experiment someone could do with lots of friends.) Find a secluded place with your friends. Make sure everyone is wearing Robes/Capes Have everyone move around and note the FPS (preferably it being dropped below 40 or so) Have everyone either switch clothes (to not having robes/capes) or remove them. Have everyone move around again and note FPS (see if it is different)
  4. I would love it at some point to allow Guilds to build their own space station/fleet. These would be there for the quasi-PVP aspect. One group builds the Station/Fleet using their own resources and then it gets 'evaluated' based on how many resources/(and other stuff) to decide which tier of challenge it is. Then Players from opposing factions can run their space mission against it. They could take out the station and the fleet and have fights like that. Of course, to be fair to the Guild who built it, they shouldn't have to rebuild the fleet every time some enemy destroyed it (that would really annoy players). But they might have to do 'minor repairs' to the fleet after so many Ops runs against it. Maybe give the guild who built it 'fleet points' for every ops that ran against it so they can expand or build a new fleet. This of course would require the OPs original idea to be almost fully implemented before it could happen. this would allow players to feel like they are more part of the world because they are creating content for it.
  5. Enemies without def 90% acc means you have a 9/10 hit ratio against enemies with no def 100% acc means you have a 10/10 hit ratio against enemies with no def 110% acc means you have a 10/10 hit ratio against enemies with no def Now we add in enemies def 90% acc means you have a 9/10 hit CHANCE and a 10% def means they will block ~1/9 of those hits 100% acc means you have a 10/10 hit CHANCE and a 10% def means they will block 1/10 of those hits 110% acc means you have a 10/10 hit CHANCE and a 10% def means they will block 0/10 of those hits (becuase 10% extra acc decreases their def value.) I can't be sure on how much acc over 100 does decrease def but I will go with the assumption of a 1/1 ratio until told otherwise or until I bother to test it thoroughly.
  6. Might I recommend collecting every datacron that you can access? not just the 3 colored ones. You can attempt a HM flashpoint with only 2 people and companions to see how well you fair. You can roll an alt on either the same faction or different and try the other story missions. You can collect all the lore objects. You can attempt to collect all the vehicals (even the LS/DS ones) You can attempt to collect all the pets (even the LS/DS ones) You can explore every area and open up all the map locations. Collect the Magenta crystal. Try and find it without using a guide. Hint: Tatoone -> Hoth -> Ilum There are many other things you can do if you just put your mind to it. Not everything in a game that is fun requires a dev to make it for you.
  7. You can get pets in the game. The LS/DS vendors have some as well as random other locations for them. They are all tiny robots (to my knowledge) that follow you around.
  8. Because sometimes people want to be able to walk slowly to get to something. Be it because they have to cross a small ledge or because they want to jump to a spot that requires precision control to get to. Letting a person turn off sprint allows them to do this.
  9. I don't know about you, but I don't remember many people being able to jump as high as most characters in games do. If you are really upset about Newton's laws being broken, I would recommend going to talk to Nintendo about Mario's ability to almost fly every jump. Bioware has done no worse on jumping abilities than any other MMO that allows it. P.S. I believe the elevators are moving more quickly than what RL elevators do also. Meaning comparing an elevator in RL to one in the game doesn't work in the first place. If you really want to have elevators work 'better' they would probably have to be slowed down a decent bit. Causing no end of complaints about slow elevators.
  10. Anything that is attached to the internet CAN be hacked. That saying, it is much more difficult to hack a persons game if they have the security key. Still not impossible, but less likely to happen. Other good habits to protect yourself.... 1) Don't go to questionable sites 2) Keep your virus scanners up to date 3) Never visit a gold farmers site 4) Obviously never give your account info away to anyone 5) Don't use the same email for this game as you might for other MMOs (because if they get your email address from another MMO they can try to break into this one by guessing your password). I am sure I am missing many security tips that could protect you more.
  11. Not all relics are light/dark. Check the GTN and see if there are any for sale that don't have an alignment. Also, Relic drops from OPs and HM FPs (i know I got it somewhere, but don't remember) are not Light/Dark either. At least some of them aren't
  12. Because going around collecting pieces of armor that have +2 over your previous one is a better way to increase your stats. /sarcasm Each person has their own way to do what they enjoy. You are not Required to have it unless you want to run with a group that Does require it. (which is a group decision, not BW forcing it on you). Some people just love getting max of EVERYTHING in a game. Some people are completionists and that is how they enjoy a game.
  13. Its not because you care whether I have any future involvement with you. Its because I care about not having future involvement in a company that has management being proud of illegal activities.
  14. Do you mind telling me which company you work for? I am not going to do anything against you, I just want to know which company I should completely avoid in my future dealings. Maybe just the industry you work in?
  15. By using your logic, Industry Standard requires all games to come out with multiple expansion packs immediately to sell, since "the biggest dog on the block has it" They should also have everything that most of the users from that game complain has ruined it, since it has them. And all new games should have Pandas since they have it too. Your logic would make every game exactly like them and noone would have a reason to change MMOs. People want some kind of innovation (look up the actual meaning of Innovation) in a MMO, not the exact same things as all previous games had.
