  1. Yeah I just tossed out a random idea that sounded fun... I agree it's not a realistic suggestion. I also agree that SWToR needs it's own unique combat hook to keep people engaged.
  2. I can empathize with this... To put my feelings on the game simply I find it fairly boring to play and I wish it wasn't. The only way I can describe it is that I just don't feel compelled to do anything in the game. I want to be in the game but once I get there this general feeling of "why bother" sets in and I either go back and play a class story line or I log out. The reason I keep coming back is just being hopeful that the game has changed in a way that now inspires me to play multiple aspects of the game...I don't come back to lurk on the forums I just end up here in search of a compelling reason to stick around...which never turns out well as it happens. With that said I will try 7.0 and give it a fair shot. I wish the Dev team lots of luck and I hope you knock 7.0 out of the park.
  3. Agreed...They should add a stamina bar w/ a dodge mechanic to every class to up combat fun.
  4. I would estimate a couple new play throughs for me once I decide what I want to play. I will likely play through w/ one new Tech and one new Force character and that's it. Probably a BH-Vanguard/Op and a Jedi Knight-Assassin/Sent if I am understanding the system correctly. TBH since returning a few weeks back I am only playing through Class stories w/ a light splash of unranked PvP... SWTOR class stories are no question the best part of this game IMO.
  5. I think your Sorcerer spell effects idea would work really well for a Nightsister Rancor Tamer or a Sith Alchemist using some type of abomination all of which already have models in the game. I agree a taming/training mechanic or any significant new system implementation is not likely a future reality for SWToR.
  6. I agree that many perceive P2W as buying gear advantage directly from a store though I also believe that companies have evolved the system to be less direct to avoid that common perception while achieving the same goals indirectly. Some argue that the WoW token is not P2W and others say that it is because Blizzard condones content carries...which is very indirect. I'm not against in game stores but I am against those items being tradeable in game or currency transferable items like the WoW token.
  7. Actually SWToR has the mechanics to be P2W it's just that gear doesn't really mean anything in SWToR so why bother. If you buy CC and then purchase some decorations or a cool armor set you can then sell it in some instances for 5 or 600 million credits which you can then use to buy high end crafted gear... Luckily the incentive to do that is missing from SWToR which is another problem all together.
  8. I have never been a fan of locking "high end" gear behind group content specifically that said I do support the idea of "hardmode" content Group and Solo containing the top tier gear and higher rarity items in general. It makes sense that you progress your gear and skill and then step up to the next difficulty though IMO it should be open to solo players as well. Most MMO(s) associate group content with difficulty when it's not more difficult content its a matter of coordination and drama management... It's clearly possible to design difficult/challenging solo content just take a look at single player games for inspiration. I don't mind the current system honestly I feel like there is something missing with the loot itself not the acquisition... I really think by removing the majority of the "cool" cosmetics from the game they ripped out part of the draw of their in game loot and with it some of peoples interest in playing the game. If you ask many MMO players why they play MMO(s) they are pretty likely to say community and LOOT! SWToR has Stat drops not traditional loot. I don't get the normal loot feeling when I loot something in SWToR. If I get a purple drop while playing I don't even bother to open my inventory and look at it until I clean out my inventory later... That tells me the loot system is not interesting at least for me.
  9. CM takes incentives for players out of the game play loop and removes incentive for Bioware to add cool gear skins to in game drops (Ops or any other). Right, wrong or indifferent adding super cool gear skins, mounts or anything that is sold on the CM seems unlikely. Problem is SWTOR can really only reward players with stat cubes because of the CM... It hurt crafting development as well IMO for the same reasons. I'm not saying the CM shouldn't exist...They just put so much on the CM that it seems to impact player incentives in the game play loop (loot/craft/rewards).
  10. I second this, Teras Kasi would be a cool Combat Style. I want to say Creature Handler but in SWToR its tough to think how that would really play in a game with companions. Also the taming and training mechanics that would set it apart would be a big ask for this game. A Lightwhip based combat style might be cool especially if you could roll with it as a Tech or Force class.
  11. I have played Several other MMO(s) Including: SWG,GW2, FFXIV, BDO, WH Online, EVE Online, WoW (Several times) the list goes on and will likely play New World and Ashes of Creation... Since SWG I havn't really found an MMO that holds my interest like that game "Chasing the Dragon" as it were... SWToR is as close as I can get for now. Probably won't go to another MMO before New World and if that doesn't hold my attention I will Sub to SWToR whenever the mood strikes me... There's always the Steam Library which is where I have been after leaving WoW a few months back... Gotta love Pathfinder, Xcom2, and so many others...
  12. I think you have laid out all the posts you need to understand what I am trying to say which amounts to...I attempted to end the conversation with DO. I then responded to you after attempting to end the conversation not DO but then DO took my response to you and started the cycle over again...I have been responding with "good post" and Big Labowski quotes for a very long time and dude is still at it... You guys are awesome! Keep coming it's just starting to get good and creepy.
