  1. I think this is a feature, that most of us have probably seen before, which could be very valuable to players in this game. I don't believe there is a real need to keep the factions apart anymore in regards to "private" chat channels and I would like to suggest the ability for guild leaders to create alliances to form joint chat channels. This should work cross faction too. I think that a very large number of guilds also have a guild on the other faction and especially for the more casual guilds who don't get a large percentage of attendance on tools like Discord, this could be a very good way for guild members to keep in touch with each other across faction inside the game. It would certainly help the smaller guilds which have members spread over the two factions at any one time. This would help guilds who like to work and coordinate together and it would help guilds with players on both sides, especially the smaller guilds who may only have a few players online at any one time and those players might be split between factions and unable to communicate.
  2. We are still looking for like minded players to help us build and create a fun environment for fairly casual play on both sides. Alts are very welcome. We've picked up several players who have returned to the game after long breaks who fit in very well indeed and we would like a few more players to boost the numbers a little bit in both the Republic and the Empire sides of the guild.
  3. Hello there We are a guild that was there at launch, very organised, the largest and arguably best Alliance side PVP guild at the time focusing on organised end game GvG pvp - usually on Hoth since Ilum was pretty bad but we rocked Ilum regularly too. Usually massively outnumbered but still winning vs the zerg. I wonder if anyone remembers us from back then on Tomb of Freedon Nadd server? Anyway! Some of us have recently returned and are enjoying playing the game again, levelling up alts and going through the story lines - just playing casually and hanging out having some fun I'm looking to boost the numbers a bit. We have Discord etc but very few active members in a brand new guild (because some muppet robbed and disbanded the original RK guild!) so if you fancy it, we are a bunch of grumpy old gits with a lot of years of experience with MMO gaming looking for some new friends We're playing on both sides fairly evenly - it just depends how people feel when they want to pick up a blaster or light sabre for a few hours I don't plan on organising everything for members this time around so you need to be pretty self sufficient in group formation and finding fun things to do. I plan to do everything that there is to do including Datacrons and achievements and completing all 8 story lines. Hopefully we'll get enough members for Operations too but I am not taking gaming super seriously these days as I used to Send me a mail or message in game for an invite - no recruitment interviews this time around either Alliance main - Takauri Empire main - Taka'auri Thanks
  4. I cancelled yesterday, which was difficult as guild leader but it's a lost cause now. We had 80+ players on at peak times in January and were the largest and certainly most active Republic PVP guild on our server (Tomb of Freedon Nadd) and we now are lucky to get 15 online... It's usually 3-8 ish now and still dwindling. I don't care about ranked warzones particularly but the general direction of the PVP in the game is very lack lustre and it feels like they are floundering about - still trying to figure out what they are doing. The PVE is unrewarding and not in the slightest bit challenging and gear grinds are so yesterday. I refuse to do them in either PVP or PVE but Bioware believes collecting even more stacks of tokens to eventually buy an item is interesting content. I subscribed for an additional two months based on the promises of 1.2 and cancelled after trying it. Oh well, we'll have Stonemist Castle to fight over soon enough!
  5. Feel free to save your quote of my post and refer to it in 2 months Link to analysts forecasts please? Links to server pop data please? (Actual player numbers, not banding for high/med/low which changes and is different per server) This game will take a very long time to return anything significant back to it's investors. Do the math, it's not difficult. You're welcome
  6. The problem with both WOW and TOR is the same as with Rift and any other MMO following the same model which is the ridiculous idea that content consists of..... 1. Pick up dailies, complete dailies for a little extra item/rep/token just as you did yesterday 2. Repeat the same instances that you did yesterday for a chance at an item/rep/token 3. Repeat the same raid that you did last week for a chance at an item/rep/token PVP is just as bad with the mini games in a box of predictability that has zero effect on the world and serves solely to drip feed more chances at an item/rep/token The whole "hop on a treadmill chasing gear" idea to keep players entertained (LOL - entertained!) is severely dated Luckily companies are beginning to recognise this and are starting to move away from it even with small steps... We have the likes of Secret World, Archeage and Guild Wars 2 all making steps and in some cases leaping as far away from the "standard" model as possible which offers hope to the players that things are finally going to move on to the next stage. I remember the huge arguments during beta over themepark vs sandbox with so many short sighted players spewing, almost violently, about how it 100% theme park is the only model that works and sandbox is a failure. Well, look at all of the MMO's hemorrhaging subscriptions whilst being labelled as failures because they all took the strict quest hub to quest hub on rails model to the extreme and dumbed down mechanics and difficulty to such an extent that pre-pubescent children are now able to competenty complete all content if allowed to. The WOW generation scream "welcome to MMOs" or "how else are they supposed to do it?" because they simply do not know any better whilst those of us who pioneered the genre know what is possible and have watched it slip away whilst companies chase the WOW left overs from the floor for a share of the pie with the exact same recipe in a slightly different wrapper. I think TOR has accomplished something massive for the industry - it has highlighted in true style due to it's rapdily declining population after such a massive budget and development period that the pure themepark model does not work. I'm personally looking forward to some innovation coming along now because I'm sure that no investor will touch what is now for some reason refered to as a "traditional" MMO again. Give us something to have pride in again as players and as guilds rather than the utterly forgettable trash that we are spoon fed right now. Bring on the themepark / sandbox hybrids with meaningful impact by players on the world! Make them feel invested in what they "own" as individuals and as guilds and get rid of the 2 faction crap and the extreme hand holding. Viva la revolution! [edit] Typos
  7. Watch what happens to the subs of every current MMO when GW2 releases
  8. We had 6 Ilum instances running regularly a month ago on Tomb of Freedon Nadd (EU) and now we normally have 2. Haven't seen a 3rd instance for a while.
  9. lol dream on KDS had 2 full raids and they were running seperately in different instances. RK was engaged with one of their raids in one instance and we had a lot of fun back and forth. Their other raid was taking out pugs and wiping the floor with them until enough pugs gathered to push them back (KDS published a full video of this on Youtube). Eventually KDS brought both raids into that instance and then we came over too to see how much the server can handle - which was the whole point of the excercise in the first place and had been pre-arranged between them and us on the forums before hand for all to see on tofn.eu As soon as we arrived via the taxi the server fell over and everyone started crashing. At that point we knew how many players the servers could support and discovered that large scale open world pvp can not work in TOR. It was a good event and I wouldn't mind seeing more if only the game could handle it.
  10. Zero spacial awareness.. When enemy players move by you, you don't even turn the camera whilst just standing there spamming keys at your target at the end of your tunnel vision. Really bad PvP
  11. If, by "rough", you mean that Trion had the most successful & smooth launch in MMO history then yes, I agree with you They also had a lot of endgame content, community functionality and didn't funnel you anywhere near as much as Bioware have done here It took me 8 months to get to the point of not wanting to play Rift anymore due to running out of content and not wanting to grind dailies anymore - it took 5 weeks here which includes 2 weeks to level up to 50 without skipping anything
  12. and when there are 3 or 4 TM spammers in the same warzone against you? This happened multiple times last night as there are so many of them around right now
  13. You might want to put some of that energy into your education. Just saying.
  14. Good writeup. This system would entice a huge number of PVP players, especially those from DAOC & WAR and encourage them to continue playing for a LONG time with little developer time required beyond tweaking once in place. Thumbs up from me!
