  1. So, I am lucky enough to have the money to spend quite a bit on the systems I play on. And this game has always had a special place in my heart. Even though it honestly has some off the most basic graphics, it fits for what it is... but the animations and graphics are very clearly dated, and it shows painfully so on the newer hardware I am running. I am getting a brand new laptop system, best I could get on short notice, and I already know it will have me wishing I was pushing such high frames and noticing the artistic flaws. In your upcoming patches, or expansions, I think it may be time to rework and touch up the graphics and physics within the game. Maybe add in some armor physics, some solid looking particle effects, narrow down some of the blaster bullet effects, and step up animations for everything. But mostly the basic ones... For instance, when I turn my hero, to the left or right, he looks like a penguin.... sometimes there is NO animation at all, he is just facing that way all of a sudden. Various abilities could DEFINITELY use touchups in graphics, sounds, and particles. Along with how casting looks, or how strikes look when carried out. I think if you wouldn't have to release very much in the way of content honestly... a shorter Segway type story, maybe a class or two, and redone graphics, animation, and some sounds... and boom. Expansion. Then we wait for that Segway mission ending to lead us into the next expansion.... In short, the game needs a breath of fresh air brought to it, because I CONSTANTLY see my friends still on it from time to time... and I know that everyone checks up on this game... I think that if there was significant love put into this product still, it could come back up out of nowhere and have a larger resurgence. Either way, graphics and animations need an update. So they don't look so painfully dated.
  2. So we have had these same classes for so many years now. It would be so nice to see some expansions to the class system by now, or more branching in the class trees currently with storyline. I have always loved this game. Its got a special place in gaming for me. But it definitely could use a little juice in the class and animation and graphics departments. I don't think this game is near done, and with the right kind of revitalization it could go very far and bring back troves of players. Classes first.
  3. So each one of the expansions so far is in a word EPIC. But for the amount of insane bad guys taking over the universe-ness that's going on; I think it would be a good idea to take these companions and followers we have found, saved, loved, and cared about, and start creating the story verse surrounding the people that surround us as what is basically, family. I think it would be good to start using new chapters in expansions to force our heroes to fight in a more personal and emotional way. In the same way that Anakin goes crazy at the though of losing the love of his life, and turns; lets give our hero a reason to start questioning his path, or a reason to divert his attentions from his duties to the personal matter at hand; with consequences that put them at odds not just with a third party, but also with their respective establishments. Lets see the game put our extended family in harms way for the first REAL time here, and focus on those personal relationships within the worlds we have already been to, and new areas within those worlds.. One thing we learn from franchises like Star Wars, is that the interpersonal relationships are A HUGE part of the story verse; and with all the enemies we are making along the way saving planets and galaxies, I think it could be time for some basic retaliation that could, on personal level, lead our heroes to go on an epic quest to either get back, help, seek, or further the love story between our companions and our heroes.... stories that could be a chance to create Hollywood level twists and turns for a few chapters worth of basic expansion updates; and maybe even cause the deaths of some crew in order to save what we care about most; those we love, or ourselves.
  4. I find that in any class there are honestly too many skills to go through. its not practical for the amount of time between castings. Often, If I set up my cast bar and cycle through my abilities, I will only actually get maybe 6 skills in TOPS; and then I have to restart my original skills. Especially when tanking. I think we need to bring about more passives, and reduce the number of overall activatable skills to between 10 and 15 per hero; making more drastic changes to skills per each subclass of each hero. Which honestly, wouldn't be to hard to put together as a whole, and as a side project. It will streamline combat; it can be used to bring more focus to subclasses, thereby creating a need for synergy in grouping; it will limit the amount of extra clicking and redundant space filling on toolbars for abilities that are never used. That's just an idea I have. Recently I have looked over my own heroes, kept SEVEN skills only for PVE, and Seven for PVP; with three skills left on another bar for situational use. It is faster, streamlined, and I think could be a good way to go for the game in general.
  5. So I have been around since this was in pre-release. This is my go to MMO at the end of the day when everything is boring. This game has SO much to offer, even today, so many years after release. I just started over, making a Sith Jug. I do think that with the release of a future expansion it is time to do a graphics update, and get rid of the severe pixilation when cameras are close up on armor and in cinematics; and one more thing, the idle animation. Also, maybe take a listing of armors that clip through capes and robes. Such as the Jug shinguards and knee armor that constantly clip through his robe when he is walking or in cutscenes, and breaks immersion. The heroes still look like they are standing at attention when standing still. It looks VERY robotic and is kind of annoying. The running animations look fine. The cinematic animations are fine. But there needs to be a set of new idle animations for when you character is standing still. Whether you implement "personality" idle animations that we can buy in store; similar to what ESO accomplished; or if you just make a simple set of idling animations for the companions and heroes themselves. I think its time for a small overhaul like that. I have found over my 30 years of gaming that its the details that bring players back to games, and that help new gamers stay. The story will always play out; but its the ability to feel like your hero is truly alive that makes the game replayable, or keeps you around. This game has the story. This game has the romance. This game has the customization and a following. I think updating some of the details within the game, like graphics and simple animations like idling, would do a lot for the game itself.
  6. I have been watching my friends hit endgame all week. I myself am far to busy with my businesses to be there quite yet. But the 7 of us have been playing MMO's as a team since UO. The problem that is universally being shared is the end game. The story is amazing, I feel involved in the singleplayer experience. However in truth, what effect has my character had on the universe? Where has the map changed or evolved or in what way is the Empire stronger or weaker for my efforts? There no answer here. Not a one. Nothing at all. In this way SWTOR fails very badly. Because once end game is reached what is there too do? Get the best gear, and re-roll a new toon as if we have so much time to waste repeating 99 percent of a game we just played through? Very little changes in this game if you roll a new toon. It becomes completely illogical. I have nothing to build. The guild has nothing to build. There is no planets to conquer where the guilds can ally or take over and share the resources. There is no way for my character or guild to feel like it is contributing to the Empire or even to itself. There are a million ways where end game could have been completely useful and the long path to the end could have been made to be more important. I was in a hurry to catch up to my friends, but as they said, "Take your time. Theres not much to do that matters at the end of this thing." That is a VERY disappointing thing to hear from any player, let alone several bigtime veterans of the MMO genre. Everyone on this game paid a lot of money to own it, and then continue playing it. Any analyst used in creating this game should have been able to tell the devs that people would reach endgame in weeks. Therefore endgame should have been given vast amounts of attention. But it seems that was not the case. If there is an expansion to be hussled out in any way or form by the EA/BW partnership here. Its not instances and increased level caps. Its a purpose for a player to be in the world once the story is over. The game has been out for only a month, and there are many positive things to be said about it. But the biggest negative mark that players will notice is that which I have stated. Anyway, hope everyone's day is good. Peace.
  7. I am pretty sure this is addressed in another post possibly, but in case: We need either a guild board to go to, which listall all guilds that are advertising to recruit, or some other more functioning way of not just finding a guild, but more importantly for the guilds to reach new members. Right now we have to spam chat or message people personally. And that feels kind of rude, and bothersome. I wouldnt want someone calling my cell to sell me a product Im not sure I want, I would think it feels sometimes the same way when a nonguild player gets hasseled by people recruiting. Anyway, just a thought.
  8. I was noticing a bit of frustration playing as a Sith Jugg. My companion Vette is a ranged DPS and gets agro quite often. I was thinking it would be a good idea to either incorporate a skill where she drops her agro every so many seconds, or possibly giving the AI that runs away from abilities such as the commando floating flame thrower thing. And also makes her run TOWARD me if she gets agro from melee so as to bring the enemy closer to me as the tanking character. Much as we do in instance groups.
